Your job as a filmmaker shouldn't be your entire identity. I had to hit rock bottom to realize it.

In this episode I discuss the hard realities I've faced since going full time with our business, and how I ultimately lost myself in the need to succeed and the need for validation. It took me finally hitting rock bottom to realize something had to change. Now I am relearning and rewiring how I view this profession and how I want to operate moving forward. Is social media to blame? Is the economy or wedding gap to blame? Or is it actually myself? Let's talk about it!
Hey you!

I went through a similar experience when I was laid off from my Hollywood corporate job where I had been for nearly 10 years. I worked my way up starting fresh out of college. It became my life and my identity. It's been hard but also wonderful rediscovering who I am without it. Starting a KZread channel has helped me a lot actually LOL. Enjoyed hearing your perspective as a small business owner, Adalenne. And love your wedding films!

"If we can stop thinking about how the industry views us... and focus on the people that we're serving" Yes. Saw this video come up when it was posted and waited until I had time to listen to it. Appreciate the candid thoughts Adalenne! Living for the backlog is not a way to live. We're so much more ❤‍🔥

Adalenne!! This testimony is almost exactly the process Jesus took me on when I finally gave my life to Him. He kept saying to me, "You were made for more than this." It's what projected me into wanting to tell stories that transform like the story that transformed me. Thank you for freedom, God.

Love this so much. Thank you for sharing! God is so good, and He sets us free from the need for validation from people.
