This is one of reasons why dad has taught me to be resourceful with almost anything, in 2019 we had a problem with our well pump, and we called the plumber and he said that it was going to be a $5000 fix, dad told him to get the hell out of the house after he heard that number come out of the plumber's mouth, so soon after we decided to just buy a new well pump and some replacement tubes, and try our best to fix it ourselves with no plumbing experience, after a few KZread videos and some trial and error, we finally made it work and not even half ass it! The reason being since that fix our well pump has been working perfectly fine as it should, and we only spent around $500; A way better deal compared to $5000 "fix"

No argument to your comment, I’d just like to add that maybe you haven’t accounted for labor. You and your dad did it, so how many hours did it take? Not saying it’s 5k worth of labor, but don’t say it’s 500$ when you haven’t accounted for the time you and your father spent to fix. I’d say it probably would have been an estimate labor included 1k

we once had a place tell us we needed some like $1,500 fix to my moms car, took it to a friend, he said it that problem didnt exist, and our car could be fixed for roughly $150! than my step dad took the car back and told the manager who keep arguing we never give false quotes and your putting your wifes safety at risk by opting out on this work... smdh

I was charged $700 for my air duct cleaning too. They advertised for $200 but when they came in they said this and that and ended up charging me $700. They’re just advertising the low price to get into your house then the real charge comes out after that.

Why not confront him before he got the huge vacuum unit back to his vehicle? See him either leave it or struggle to get it out of the house as quickly as possible without damaging anything.

This is done all the time in medical offices. Had a specialist doctor charge 700$ for a "surgery" that took a grand total of 5 minutes and didn't involve anything but his hands.

I went into the ER when covid first hit because I was shitting and vomiting blood. They didn't take any blood samples, urine test, or physical. Nothing. hailu roth I do the same only thing I don’t know how to fix is cars but I don’t take it to mechanics cus they fix one thing and mess up another so you come back to them seen it but I have a friend who fix my cars now just gotta get the pieces and I offer money but he says it’s fine cus we been friends for a long time

I mean that's what you pay companies for. Their knowledge. Where I work we go out, find the issue, tell you the issue, and if you want to do it yourself that's fine. Just pay us the service call fee. Wanna get the part yourself? Fine. Pay labor. Want us to do everything? Parts and labor. It's how you make money.

It's hard telling, but I don't think that everyone out there is going to be like these guys. We can't say if they interviewed more people than this, because good news doesn't make for good entertainment, so these could be two apples out of the bunch that were bad. We only know as much as they decide to show us or even tell us.
