    It’s a great detector I’m using mine in a seriously hard hit river spot by 3 800’s and in 3 hunts it’s like a new spot again 30 silver coins one 1721 Pistareen 2 halves and a bunch of dimes seated barbers mercs and a few Rosie’s and clad it’s better at separating Good example of plug cutting I see big time KZread guys making complete circles I’ve even stated this to them

    I bought the diggin tool and pinpointed leather holder and the Excalibur shovel,but not the Merlin it was too high for my budget, I got a sir may. I love your videos on the noxs., I have an 800. Keep preaching on proper plugs and neatness my man. Very important for the hobby.

    Yes that is why I don't rely on the VDI but rather the tones. You are missing good targets if you rely on the vdi

    Hi Larry, I would enjoy watching you seed your yard with various coins at different depths and do a comparison with the 800 versus the 900. My thoughts are the 800 is every bit as good as the 900 back to back. Would be fun to see the comparison live action. Thanks for the videos and good luck Treasure hunting my friend!

    @bobg1219 I’ve compared them both last weekends side by side, the 900 is over all from ergos and weight to performance and depth better than the 800. BUT some people may like the lower VDI scale on the 800 vs the 900’s because the 900 shows more numbers when the 800 doesn’t move around much

    Sorry the 800 performance and stability Is nowhere near the 900. I live in Texas and my 900 performs better than my 800 at every corner as it should. The 900 is what the 800 should of been from the start. Updates will only make the 900 even more savage!!

    Hi i just now brought the Equinox 900 and i live in Crescent City ca were we have a lot of Black sand and i can't figure this Black sand out.

    Maybe for the way you detect, the numbers don't mean anything, but I've seen blokes call the piece before it comes out of the using that number, and be right most of the time.

    No need to ground balance unless you are in highly mineralized ground. Just keep it basic and simple

    Hi mate, I’ve been using the 800 for just over 6 years now and I’m thinking of upgrading to the 900 or the manticore, but the manticore seems way to expensive for virtually the same results, so I’ll probably settle on the 900, Seems everyone keeps saying it’s like the Nox 800 on steroids, I did notice you didn’t explain the auto tracking for a stable detecting session

    I am not a fan of auto tracking. I'm afraid it will eli.inate good targets. Some people like it, I'm not one of them.

    Hey thanks for your tutorial, its helpful to know how to noise cancel and how to set sensitivity. I do have one question though…..the 900 claims 5-6 meters but you said each little depth symbol represents only 2” depth, that math doesnt add up or am i looking at it the wrongway? Anyways thanks for the video!

    Max depth depends on ground conditions, emi, coil size etc. Each bar represents 2"

    I don't give specific settings as every situation is different depending on where you are hunting. I do have videos of how to set up fr depth and a video of how to set for trashy ground.     They are both great machines. The 900 has found me targets in areas I have hammered with the 800 and the 900 has some great features that the 800 doesn't have. It really boils down to how bad you want to upgrade and your budget. You can call Dan Willis at outlawmetaldetectors.com and tell him I sent you. He can give you the ins and outs.

    Do a video with this machine in a trashy area or one with tons of nails or square nails, that’ll show that this machine isn’t as easy as they make it seem

    On the contrary, this video was made at an 1870s ho.estead with lots of iron and tin. I pulled the nickel from among all that with only basic preset programs. When you learn the machine it is phenomenal in trashy ground.

    I recently got one and it’s awful. It can barely hit a wheat penny at 2”. I have the worse case of buyers remorse. I’m glad I still have the good old simplex.

    You have something set wrong then. Be sure your sensitivity is up. You might do a factory preset if you were adjusting the settings.

    I have never used a metal detector - this lost me in the first 45 seconds. Not for beginners at all.

    This is for beginners for the 900. If your buying at this range, it's understood you know the basics and are familiar with detecting. Buy a simplex or a detecor from the Vanquish line. I personally started out with the vanquish 540. It's expensive but she's amazing. I would recommend the 540 for being Multi frequency over the simplex because rhe simplex is single frequency

    I imagine most people wouldn’t immediately begin with a top-of-the-range machine like this and so have the basic knowledge of the features and language from using other detectors. Example: myself :-) I cut my teeth on a $150 Go Find and now I’ve bought the $1500 equinox 900. I’m a beginner with this model but not with the hobby 👍🏻

    Was enjoying this video until you said that the vdi numbers shouldn’t be considered . So why do you have a modern day detector .

    If you rely on the vdi to determine your dig you are missing good targets. It is a reference tool only and should not be trusted. Detect a deep target and as you dig closer to the target, many times you will see the vdi change. Give it a shot and you will see why I say the vdi should not be the determining factor.     When doing a set up vid, slow down and decide what you are doing, with what buttons on the machine. You know this and the rest of us don't. Think of a slow step by step. Think of teaching someone to drive a car, just throw them in the driver's seat with verbal instructions and hope for the best? Slow down and describe what buttons are pressed at what point to achieve what goal. You know this well, we don't, but want to learn, slow down.
