+SmoothRacing Dude, the 2012 cars looked like utter shit. Not to mention the V8 was literally a toned down V10. Seasons like 2003 and 2005 were by far better, both in terms of engine, tyres, strategy, looks, tracks and races. 2007 and 2008 as well but those cars had a tad too many winglets.

+Matthew Panini I like the 2012 cars, and surely you can't judge a season on the look and sound of the cars? Who really cares if you have a field full of V10 cars which look nice but the racing is shit, or would you rather have V8s which still sound brilliant, 8 different winning drivers and 6 different winning teams, fantastic wheel to wheel action and more overtaking than any other season and of course a title that goes down to the absolute wire? Anyway I respect your opinion :P

SmoothRacing 2012 was a phenomenal season. Multiple winners. Tyres were unpredictable and it was relatively close for most of the season. More importantly cars could follow each other!

+SmoothRacing Best season of modern day F1? I doubt it. Kinda liked F1 2010 more where 5 drivers were in the race for the title. In comparison F1 in 2012 was in the end more or less a race between Vettel and Alonso. The other guys were not consistent enough or had reliability issues. I didn't like the look of the cars in 2012 with those stepped noses either. For me the 2011 cars looked their best: No stupid shark fins and no stepped noses. However the racing was not as exciting (11 victories for Vettel). Best season? Tough call, really liked the 2009 season. Force India's first podium. Red Bull's first win, McLaren and Ferrari starting from the back of the field and then winning mid-season.

The F1 media sometimes laughed at Murray Walker's famous gaffes, calling them Murrayisms. I think they could come up with something cute to describe Kimi's replies and quotes as there's clearly nobody as wild and colorful as him right now! I like how he tends to be a man of VERY few words. The pit boss will say "Kimi, Grosjean's engine blew so you're up to second now. You're clocking about a second slower than Vettel so you need to do over a second better with each lap to catch him. Better move fast because your next pit stop is in 12 laps." Kimi: "Okay, I will beat Vettel!" LOL. I KNOW he'll say something like that! : )

This season made me respect alonso alot he squeezed the little potential out of the ferrari like a wringing a wet rag

The Abu Dhabi 2010 Grand Prix is definitely my favourite. It was way more dramatic than this. Not because of crashes or any particular lines other than "DU BIST WELTMEISTER!" but rather because it was the last race of the season and 4 people were competing for the championship at the same time (Seb, Lewis, Fernando and Mark).

2012 was an amazing season. 2010 and the start of 2013 where really good as well. I really did feel for Alonso not winning that championship. That Ferrari in 2012 was a joke and how he dragged that to just three points from the championship was astonishing. I hope Formula 1 can have at least one season on the future like 2012.

Well atleast Kimi knew what he was doing Charles told the ferarri guys to shut up and Max passed him in Austria

2010 and 2012 are amazing seasons! It has been downhills ever since. When you have a season where one driver just runaway from everyone else, that's just boring.

Seems like the 2021 abu dhabi gp is gonna replace the 2012 one as the best

Its pretty awesome how vettel catched 3rd. He started from pit, and had to be 2 times in box because of damage. Great strategie, great driving. Please more if this, this year Seb.

2006 at 2012 was the best years of F1. The race were very unforeseeable and you saw many crashes, collisions, something that is rare today to see, and was 3 teams fighting with the championship

I really miss this time. I know Kimi wasn't the happiest with Lotus because they had financial issues but back then he at least was able to win races and it was awesome because lotus is a smaller company but Kimi brought it up and showed skills on how to save tires during racing etc.. there were so many awesome moments

That redbull is fast. Vettel from pitlane. Wing changes still podium, but there are so many retirements though.

Mega geile Saison :) Spannende Rennen und packende Qualis, bei denen oftmals die ersten 10 Fahrer innerhalb von 1-1,5 Sekunden waren (siehe Quali zu dem Rennen, mega :). Und es gab häufig auch einige Überraschungen in der Startaufstellung. Heutzutage sind es max. 3 Teams die in der Lage sind zu siegen, alle anderen sind im Quali deutlich über einer Sekunde zurück und werden im Rennen überrundet.
