You can never get to much knowledge and you Vanessa have plenty so keep putting it out there. Nature through time has proved it can heal you, as it is all out there, with loads we haven't even found yet or know how to use to cure what.
Knowing my luck, I would pick up the wrong mushroom. Really great work. I love this type of information. Marvellous
I never knew the use/effects of the mushrooms that grew on beech trees. Good survival information, Vanessa. Thank you.

Silver Birch are the best, bark peels like paper and it is full of fuel. I use the fungus for Chaga also
Hei🙃 In beech you can also in the spring drill a hole and collect/harvest sugarwater. Drink it fresh or make syrup. And you can also make alcohol😆
Vanessa, do you think adding some pine sprigs would help the taste? Or would it become more wretched? 😂😂. You are such a pleasure to watch and your braids make you look like Holzleute (but attractive, not scary). We encounter you here and you share woodcraft secrets with us. Danke.

Wow!, awesome video with so much knowledge! (I couldn't help but notice that your pronounce "stomach" (Stahmick), purfekly.) 👍 When your ready, we work on the next one. Most Germans can't do it, even after 50 Years! Danke fur das tolle wideo. 👌👍
Thank you for all the information - I always learn new things from your videos.
Another wonderful video, Vanessa! I only wish there were beech trees anywhere around me. I have a question about your videos in general, though: Do you upload to any other platforms besides KZread, such as Rumble or Bitchute for instance? KZread is making it extremely difficult on users to continue to watch on this platform because of adblockers, and I can only assume their tyranny and despotism will get worse. Ultimately, I'd like to migrate away from youtube altogether, but I'd want to be sure my favorite channels can be seen elsewhere first. Thank you for all you do! Much love from the USA! ❤🤍💙
Excellent video Vanessa. I like the foraging theme lets have more like this!
I want to tell you young lady , that of all the good info you offer on this channel Vanessa , the best thing is how you give of yourself. ( I know that many others that tune in to your videos feel the same as I do . Thanks for brightening up my day .🙂
cool stuff ..thank you Vanessa
God bless you Vanessa you probably saved many vith this sharing of knowledge

Thanks for the very useful informative video.
Hi Vanessa good information thanks for sharing happy and blessed weekend and family and friends 🌹✨ hugs 👍 🤗🐕🦺🌲🍀
Interesting! I don't remember seeing this fungus on birch trees. Although there is a lot of birch forest in Finland. I must have just missed it. Now that I know, I will look at the birch tree from a “different perspective”. Thanks Vanessa! 😀💖🦊

Vids such as this have prompted me to learn more about our local vegetation here in Australia. Could be even more important than in Europe as we have many species which are toxic and appear similar to non toxic edible plants. Nice to know that if ever we are in shtf situation you can still survive after everyone raids whats left in the supermarkets.
Wow great job 👍 super skill set
Very Interesting, Thank You
Hello, Vanessa! Good video! (We can see who your favourite chracter is on Vikings! Lol. Lagertha? Lol.).
Here in the US I've never heard of it. However, on the east coast in the deep woods there are plenty of beech trees and I at least can recognize many trees so I will be looking out for these mushrooms. Beautiful video...Thank you.
Mushrooms 🍄 in the woods, reminds me of something 😂 Suddenly you can see food which isn't there, your hear music which isn't played and you feel really excited ☺️
Maybe otzi used it to carry embers and not as a medicine. Who knows? Or maybe they checked the contents of his stomach and found some of the mushroom in there. VERY informative video. Thanks Vanessa.

Hi Vanessa
I really enjoy watching your trips through the forest. I did hit the notification button as You-Tube seems to be a bit wonky when it comes to uploads. I went 2 weeks without any video in my feed from you, and with a bit of investigation, clicked the notification button and problem solved! Thanks to that little feature I'm back to solid! Thank you Vanessa, enjoy the autumn!
Very good, young lady. I learned something new today. You are a good teacher. B. Howard, MG
Thank you Vanessa for another great and educational video and all your wisdom you are absolutely one of the best KZreadrs on KZread 🦊🏆👍👌
What interests me most about Ötzi and what he carried was that there was no such thing as harmless misinformation or a snake oil sold in 3000BC. He was not in a position to buy the over-the-counter, homeopathic remedy at his local convenience store on a lark just to see if it worked or not. Life and death were the stakes every single day and they had no choice but to trust the things they saw work or were told by trusted, wise people to be effective. Modern, evidenced germ theory wasn't confirmed until Leeuwenhoek invented the microscope in the 1670s AD. Predecessors to modern germ theory existed in antiquity as early as 400 BC. But literally thousands of years before even that, civilized people had an effective knowledge of things that worked even if they had no way to explain how or why.
Love the hairstyle fraulein!
Which fungus is this? Birch polypore?
Birch sap tea full of goodness
Paper bark birch
Looking forward to the upcoming Video on Chaga.

It sounds like you are saying beech trees when it is actually birch trees, a completely different type of tree.
Great video!
Thank you, Vanessa. This information is life saving! Are there any other naturally occurring fungi, or roots that have the same external-internal benefits? I ask because beech trees do not grow plentiful here in Texas-and those that do, are not the sane species that flourish in Germany. Well done. Enjoy your weekend. Prost!
Vanessa ive been eating them for breakfast theres not a bad taste there great with bacon and eggs...
Those braids are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lord I love you
I'm really impressed with this information. I have seen that same fungus here in Ontario and was wondering if it was useable.
Birch polypore (Piptoporus betulinus). Otzi wore pieces of it on a string neckless.
I think i love you ❤you are an inspiration
👍👍👍👍
Modern people have forgotten the older remedies from the the forest and else where which have probably been around for thousands of years or more 🤔 there's nothing wrong in trying something like a mushroom 🍄 if you think it can help , there's to much pressure on modern medicine maybe its time to go back to the older remedies from the forest for help. ❤️Vanessa.

Many thanks 🌻❤

The only thing I know about mushrooms is that unless you are 100% certain about it you’re safer leaving it alone. Does anyone know if there is a similar looking mushroom that is possibly toxic that can be confused with this one (possibly one that grows on a different species of tree)?
This is quite fascinating. In the US, we have Fagus grandifolia, mostly restricted to the northeast. I have never seen this mushroom there, but I was not specifically looking for it. It is very eye-catching. My interest in mushrooms so far is primarily for food, but also for tinder. In the western US we have few birches (no beeches) and so are unable to find amadou or chaga. Amadou is such a blessing to the friction fire process I ordered a lifetime supply of processed felt from Romania. So I'm good. ;-/
someone has done her homework, good job, i learn all this but have no memory 5 minutes later,,, lol
Hi, thank you for video. Just to note its a birch tree, not a beach tree. Betutilis not fagus
Nice braids. Are those traditional Bavarian braids? Also I have seen on many of your videos you use the word 'Equitment'. It should be 'Equipment' I know your english is better then my German but just wanted to make you aware.
That looks like silver birch rather than beech ?
👍👍👍
When I watched the German version the subtitles translation said Birch but in the English version you said Beech. Just a mistake which many caught. It's all good, we all make mistakes.

I think we vastly underestimate the intelligence of people who preceded us and also fail to recognize to fact that knowledge is cumulative, that is it builds on itself, interestingly the more man learns the more he realizes that there is more to learn it is expediential by an ever-increasing exponent.

What I find interesting is that our ancestors would try all sorts of things (eating, cooking, drinking, poultice, etc.) not having any idea if it would work or not. Even thinking that if another animal ate something it is safe for humans is dangerous in some cases. I feel sorry for those that tried and were poisoned for their efforts. The wealth of knowledge they were able to retain and pass on without books/illustrations is amazing.

They were off the coast of Italy recently looking for sunken ships from the 17 century and found a huge metropolis that isn't listen in any government or religious literature, so it is unknown who built it or when. We will never fully know just how advanced how some of the earlier generations were, but every discovery is fascinating. I believe I read once that some people were forced to eat different foods to test to see if they were safe, glad I didn't live in those times. @@primordial_platypus

Absolutely. Ancient people we’re almost certainly more intelligent and wise than us ‘civilised’ lot.
@primordial_platypus
7 ай бұрын
@@redpillnibbler4423 I wouldn’t necessarily say they were more intelligent/wise than we are today. They knew the “natural” environment far better than we individually do if for no other reason than they had to to survive. Today we don’t “need” to know as much individually because most things are simply given/processed/packaged for us without the need to know how to find/make/use it. Although they did travel/migrate over time a vast majority of their life was spent in one area with a subset of the world’s biodiversity whereas we today have access to pretty much everything the world has to offer. Their knowledge was built up over time just as ours is today. Our use of the “natural” world was undoubtedly built upon their knowledge at its core and expanded upon in each succeeding generation even to the point of loss of individual knowledge simply because we as individuals don’t “need” to know it anymore. We today “destroy” our natural environment often without knowing we are doing it in the name of progress. The lack of intelligence/wisdom comes in with our failure to rectify the destructive elements once we know they are destructive. Early agriculture would plant the same crops over and over again in the same area until they realized lower productivity over time then found out about crop rotation to maintain the grounds “health”. Originally they had no knowledge of the various minerals in the earth and how the various crops needed/used them but over time and experimentation worked it out and only recently (in man’s history terms) were we able to classify and understand individual crops needs.

I’m a chaga fan. Tell my what you know about it.
I’ve no doubt that ancient peoples had deep knowledge of natural medicines etc. and were very much part of the land. I’d go further and suggest people were more intelligent in many ways than so called ‘civilised’ man.
Im sorry but did you say beech, or birch?
I think you mean birch not beech Vanessa
that shot at 1237 looks like a clown face lol...
PS: I shall keep reminding you that "Death" is a delusion Sister... The words "Have faith in me as you shall see the Kingdom of Heaven" are meant for "everyone" to heed ... as they "negate" the existence of Death ! The one who was Jesus didn't say he was God ... the "Title" Christ describes the one who was chosen by Our Father [God / Allah / Buddha etc] ... and Jesus said that he believed that he might be "that" one ... that is why they murdered him / sent him back to Our Father [God / Allah / Buddha etc] ... because he was, and that meant that all of the Emperors of Rome [past / present and future] were nothing but nefarious cannibalistic murdering liars / false Gods / evil criminals etc. Changing the title to "Pope" alters nothing in that regard. We don't "die" when our time here comes to an end ... we continue to exist, regardless of "faith" ... and those who use anti-Christian terminology whilst they are here, do so either to appease anti-Christian false Gods and their worshippers, or by accident. The one known as Ötzi still carries his ancient knowledge with him where ever he goes. It is "not" lost to him.
