I am not oppressed, I do not feel oppressed, I do not feel anything about slavery - I don't even wanna talk about it because I'm sick of the milking of it. I wasn't there at that time - though I sympathise with the people, I wasn't there. I haven't experienced racism in my whole life in the UK. I don't know why some black people are clinging to this like it's something? We all need to move forward in life and do better as human beings. The past is the past. Leave it alone and look to the future. We need to unite as human beings under God.

The point that you are making is that YOU dont feel oppressed or robbed by History. There is a whole continent of your black brothers and sisters living in Africa, U.S., U.K., Jamaica, West Indies, South America, that are prejudiced against, experience racist insults as a result of this crime against humanity. It is a given for millions. Do you think they chose to feel that way? Oppression is REAL.Racialism against black people is particularly evident almost everywhere globally. You are one in a million. Congratulations. Black Africa history in terms of slavery and colonialism and neo-colonialism are fundamental chapters of history. Africa has been pillaged and plundered relentlessly. Countries that are interested in Africa's resources continue to capitalise using strategy, tactics, interference and are motivated by greed. The mighty economies of Europe owe much to territories that they stole from. Its in the past? Imagine if your loved ones were packed on a ship to slave away for ever, somewhere never to be heard of again. At least there is tomorrow hey? Because that is then the past.

Carefully ignore the slavery pre transatlantic slave trade or the African slavers or the Arab slave trade and Barbary slavers. This religious man should know that thousands of slaves were murdered in Africa during African ceremonies, such as funerals of tribal leaders. Most people would consider this dehumanizing. Even more people were forced to walk across the Sahara, despite the reality of a very high mortality rate for this trip. The muslim slave drivers didn't care, because they purchased the slaves so cheaply from African slave dealers, like the ancestors of this religious man.

You are referring to Exodus 34: 6,7 which mentions Jehovah being merciful to those who love him and punishing the guilty’s children up to 4 generations. Two things: One, it’s God the Father who does this, because unlike us he can read hearts of men. We don’t have the ability to even know if this is happening. Two, this Old Testament verse shows this is only 4 generations. Even if what you say was true, that this is “the entire basis of his religion”, (I wouldn’t know) … it’s been more than 4 generations. I was spat on, beaten up a few times and even kicked off a moving school bus. Should I be contacting the Kuwait embassy to get things rolling with the repatriations? Oh... and I also sat next to an Ethiopian boy in school there, who used to sharpen his pencil and try and stab me in the leg with it most days. So maybe I should look at getting compensated from them as well. What utter nonsense. From what I have learnt, a very low percentage of black slaves were gathered by white slave traders. The vast majority were sold into slavery by not only neighboring tribes but also by people from within their own country. Another thing that gets over looked is that over the centuries actually the majority of slaves were from a white back ground. I wish humanity as a whole could come together, abolish all hatred between peoples because of race, religion, country and other dividing mindsets and start from a clean slate. We are all human, we all need to live on this planet together. Just imagine the advances in science and living conditions if countries didn't need to spend huge amounts of GBP on military armament. Imagine what could be done in America if they didn't spend trillions of dollars on a war on terror, the changes in Africa if natural resources went towards breaking famine rather that lining the pockets of dictators. Our race, the human race could be so much more advanced if we stopped looking backwards and started looking forwards.

We didn’t receive equal pay, we were forced to resign when we married, we couldn’t get bank or other loans as single paid women without a male guarantor , we were denied certain professions ( Eg pilots) and many university courses had limited quotas for women ( Eg 10 % women allowed to study medicine in the early 1960’s). There was blatant sexism and sexual discrimination socially as well. And these women are still alive - unlike the slaves of history.

Just to remind everyone, the country where the Mr. Adedeji comes from (Nigeria), has a statue of a lady called Efunroye Tinubu, who became very wealthy, as a result of trading slaves! She was so wealthy, she had the ear of the rulers of that country. The statue still stands in Lagos and is revered by the people of that nation. Mauritania was mentioned in this clip. That African country abolished slavery in 1962.....yes, 1962!! Slavery still continues and was practised across Africa for years before and after the British or European colonisers arrived. It is still thriving in many Islamic nations, where it is taken as "normal". Great Britain stopped it all, at great expense to the country. Now, all we are getting is the fall-out. Once again, we led where others followed. Why? Because we are achievers, pioneers, go-getters, leaders, discoverers, inventors and adventurers. We achieve....always! It's simple: Why would people who have never owned slaves, pay money to people who have never been slaves?

The black people enslaved their own people and sold them to Britain and all the other Empires in exchange for things they wanted! We then sold them on for things we wanted to the Americans, and other people to work their plantations. We never needed slaves in Britain as we had plenty of poor white people and chiidren to send down mines and to work in factories. We had no need for them here as no plantations! Only people who grew tea, coffee, sugar and cotton needed black slaves! That is why it was called 'The Slave Triangle'! We sold goods that the slavers wanted in exchange for slaves which were then sold in exchange for things like coffee, tea, sugar and cotton needed in our mills to make clothes using white people! Rubbish to say we ever had black slaves here! They were used in hot, humid climates as their skin colour enabled them to work longer hours in the sun. That is why the Southern States of America fought the civil war to keep slavery to work their plantations after Britain had banned slavery and North America later decided to follow our lead.. There was slavery in Africa before the first white man ever set foot on African soil. It was the tribes in Africa that war against their neighbors who took advantage of getting rid of their enemies out of the area to take over the defeated tribes' territory by selling the defeated to the white man. The first slave owner on American soil to own slaves was Anthony Johnson who was a black man. Blacks were not the only ethnic group who was a victim of slavery. Are the blacks in Africa who ripped other black families apart and engaged in slavery themselves going to pay restitution? Not all white people had slaves, not all black people had slaves are they going to be forced to pay for a crime their ancestors did not commit? Here in America, the "melting pot" of the world, the advances and advantages that we all enjoy today are from every walk of life coming together to make improvements to everyday life for everyone. It was not done just by blacks, blacks did not create the telephone, airplane, railways, etc...that was done by many people. This nonsense needs to stop. Learn from history-yes, live your life stuck in history-that is on you. You cannot claim you suffered from slavery when you were never a slave. The only slavery you suffer from is all in your head.

It cost britain £20 million to fund the Slavery Abolition Act 1833. In 1833, this was equivalent to approximately 40% of the Government's total annual expenditure. The former slave owners often squeezed another 6 to 12 years of further service as unpaid 'apprentices', meaning slave owners were compensated to the tunes of millions - and continued to get free labour. The market for enslaved people did not disappear following abolition in Britain. Traders continued to meet demand in places like Brazil and Cuba. To combat the illegal trade in African people who had been enslaved, the British Navy organised anti-slavery patrols off the West African coast. The was called the West African fleet. The kingdom of Dahomey ( you know the one in "Woman King" ) was a major center in the Atlantic Slave Trade until 1852 when the British imposed a naval blockade to stop the trade. I think any reparations should be paid by rich descendants of the slave owners. The money should be used to fight modern slavery in Africa. in 2021, there were 1.6 million individuals living in modern slavery in Nigeria.
