These are some rare clips. Zidane was special. He's one of the few game organizers who maintains possession but drives the team forward. He wasn't a shoot first midfielder and wouldn't always look for the first pass to the forward. He was great at pulling out defenders from their position and unlocking defenses. Because he was two footed and strong, could dribble and had great balance, he was able to play passes in such awkward positions. He was always an option from for his defenders and for his forwards. Once the ball came to him, he could control it. Zidane was excellent. He was strong and big enough to play in this era. His touch is amongst the top ten players ever. People watch stats, people watch clips, people need to watch games. He organization and game management was second to none. Even with double pivot defensive midfielders who were undoubtedly less creative and had the raw still that he possessed. All this and he didn't have explosive speed, which others like CR7 Ronaldo Messi and Ronaldinho had.

Because he lasted way too short on the highest level, because he spent 10 years of his career in then strongest clubs in the world and Del Piero was better than him in Juve and fat and injured Ronaldo was better than him in Real. Because of his beautiful playstyle and perfect technique, people got the idea that he dominated every game, which was far from the truth. He struggled in Juve when Del Piero was injured or out of shape, and the "GOAT" Zidane failed to lead an ultra strong team so they lost 2 CL finals to Mickey Mouse opponents (compared to them anyway) and lost 2 Scudetti as well lol. Beautiful to watch, but upon careful analysis not even the top 50 in terms of career. Michael Laudrup had way better club career than Zidane and had more impact on his teams as well, just to name one guy.

Just thinking about how the world was robbed from watching possibly the best European players of all time all playing in the same French team in 1998. Can you imagine if Jean Pierre Papin, Ginola, Eric Cantona, Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Patrick Viera, Robert Pires, Emmanuel Petit, Lilian Thuram, Le Blanc were all playing in that 1998 WC winning team? I don't think people back in the 1990s appreciate the fact that France produced probably some of the best European players of all times. Just imagine Eric Cantona, Jean Pierre Papin, Ginola, Henry and Zidane on the same time. OMG.

C’était le plus grand joueur. Depuis qu’il a arrêté, le football est fade. Son style de jeu est inégalable. CR7 et Messi peuvent marquer un million de buts, ils me procureront pas les émotions que Zidane m’a donné.
