Depends on the level of care they have to offer. Non-domestic exotics are very costly and require tons of space. Most people cannot provide the necessary care nor enrichment for them. Some people can though, and they often rescue them from bad situations. No one should get one expecting a pet like a domestic dog or cat.

@@user-mw6jo7ql1c I’ve been to Shambala several times. It’s in Acton, California and is a sanctuary for big cats. Like the saveafox KZread channel just shut down a 500 fox fur farm. And now are looking for people who can keep exotics (licensed for exotics) so they can send the 500 foxes to different places so they can live the rest of their days.

No kidding about wolf dogs and winter fur. They look massive. My friends cousins had a pair of brothers. When one of the brothers died, they then brought the other with them if they went out of town so he wouldn't get lonely. You don't board a wolf dog. He was a very well behaved boy who liked to play chase. Beautiful yellow eyes.

At the very beginning it were actually real wolves that started living together with humans. The wolves followed the humans and ate their leftover food and maybe got some food from them. Over time both sides realised they can benefit from each other and the wolves stayed by the humans and the wolves saw them as their pack, the humans saw them as their friends and family members. Without that, we later wouldn't have dogs being a part of our lives.

Yup. All modern dogs have been traced to 12 wolf cubs who decided to live with humans. Humans caught on really quickly that the dogs could be very, very useful and they were willing to work alongside their humans. Mother Nature gave us great gifts with dogs and horses. We would be a different civilization today if we could have even survived without their help.

I know this isn't exactly the same situation but my 90 y/o neighbor recently adopted a Catahoula Leopard from a rescue. The dog is about 50 + lbs. She is about 4 y/o I think. She came so happy and so full of energy but now she looks sad and old. Because obviously a frail 90 y/o can't provide the exercise or stimuli a dog like that needs. This elderly lady really loves her dog and the dog really is protective over her but it's sad to see what the dog was (so full of joy) to what she is now. I wish the elderly would seriously think about what they can handle and also choose a senior dog rather than one too active for them. The old person dies or becomes disabled what happens to the dog, most times they get put in a pound. How unfair and tragic for the animal. I'm glad Rana got lucky and was placed into good rescue. But most times it doesn't turn out this way for the animal.

Exactly. Consider the wonderful Friend first. Adopt an older Friend or Fostering is terrific. Fostering gives chances to many Friends not just one. It keeps your life interesting too without long term commitment. If it isn't working then foster a different Friend.. I'm 67 and think Fostering is the way to go for older People. My health isn't good enough to make a long term commitment to another Friend. There is also volunteering at shelter to walk, play, or cuddle Friends. So if you can't have smaller 4 legged Friends where you live you can always visit them. I love retirement homes that have resident Fur Friends. So healthy and healing for all. Just some ideas for my fellow seasoned Human Friends. We have so much loss in this part of our lives and getting involved however possible is a happy gift to us. My only Friend Bella, 21yrs. Here, passed on April 8, 2022. I'm still hurting and cannot do that again. I do have a lot of love to give and have found creative ways to do so. The little furry and scaly(!) friends NEED us as much as we need THEM. Happy Holidays All A Colorado Mountain Grandma USA 💜✌️🌍🌎🌏💞🐈💞🐕,😁. 🎅🎁⭐🎄⭐🦌☃️❄️😘

But for these amazing people who run this facility this is where Rama will live since he can't be returned to the wild. Wolves are such amazing characters.
