Even knowing that Mary was just trying to make herself feel better when she asked George to go for a walk with her, this kind of makes me sad in light of how George later didn't know what sort of things to do with Mary to show interest, when Wayne said it wouldn't matter what kind of a date he tried to take her on, she would just be happy that he was making an effort. :(
