I’ve yet to see a female asylum seeker in my neck of the woods. They are all blokes 18-30 years old. Middle Eastern and North African. No idea if they have been vetted. The building does NOT belong to the local people. The developer/owner can do what they want with their building andhave no obligation to anyone. She is right. A lot of these people are damaged, mental health issues, violent etc - massive risk to locals (never mind we should not have to be paying for this anyway). Why won't the Govt. place asylum seekers & boat migrants in tents camps outside UK's towns as all EU countries did/do with migrants to be assessed for asylum? GB News should ask such question to Tory MPs and Home Secretary repeatedly. Thousands of own citizens living as homeless people on streets of UK, whilst asylum seekers placed in new built flats in towns. Such prejudice ruling system will lose millions of further votes to Tories in next general election.

Warning to parents-I was a child protection worker (SW-BSW) and in BC Canada, we had a big problem with bad guys from India pretending they were young teen girls' boyfriends and the getting the girls to become sex workers. The girls had been removed from their families due to serious problems like abuse etc. The Indian guys were pimps but kept it within the Indian culture and the girls were all white. Of course police or politicians kept it hidden-no media. UK had a lot of coverage on the same problem. We like to avoid all multi cultural problems in Canada-because we are "nice." ie.stupid now

Well that's nice and selfish. The problem is the British public needs to stop conflating migration with asylum seeking. They are different. In all honesty I agree with you that long term this won't work . But what confuses me is I have seen people put up temporary buildings quickly. In places near ports. They are all having population issues i.e people leaving anyway. As for asylum seekers they SHOULD NOT be mixing with local people until the claim has been dealt with. Also we should stop taking refugees from mid east,eastern European. They are far away and clearly being waved through Western European countries to Britain. We cannot receive everyone.

I have been led to understand that local councils, (staffed by highly paid leaders, not to mention paid councillors), answer to the government and have little regard for those paying the exorbitant council taxes they inflict; their aim is simply to serve their masters in Westminster. The young mum presented some compelling arguments against the movement of asylum seekers into luxury accommodation in a settled community, but I would like to see the leader of the council address her concerns and explain how the idea came about in the first place.

It is beyond belief that the home office think its ok to put them in to this accommodation, i couldn't afford 1400 per month, so obviously they are getting it rent free, The illigal immigrants who are seeking this asylum should not be given this luxury accommodation .What about british people who are on housing lists ? What an absolute soft touch this country is , Tell me another country where this would happen? It's just not right.

I understand how she feels I was born in southeast London in 1978 my great grandparents went through 2 world wars here my great grandmother was born in 1901 here in the uk Her mother the 1800s where we lived in southeast London in the council flats in 1999 We had lots of empty flats they done them up and we wondered why? They moved in hundreds of migrants Without telling us We started getting burnt out cars men harassing the young girls I personally experienced this and the crime went up We moved out of London in the year 2000 No one should have to live around that It became a terrible place to live

Why does the government not get it? Its not the location or quality of accomodation people are against, they don't want them here at all. They are not going to be accepted or welcome wherever they're put. The sooner this is understood the better.

Tented secure dorms in the middle of nowhere, until vetted and allowed to stay or immediately deported imo. The nightingale hospital was deemed fit for covid patients, so a similar structure is good enough for illegals. 😠

They can offer:- Less Housing. Higher Rental Costs. Higher Council Tax. Less School Places. Less availability of Doctors appointments. Longer waiting times for hospital treatment. Higher Income Tax burden. This situation is totally unsustainable, yet the government does nothing to deter these freeloaders! Sorry to say this, but it’s time to clear these hotels, the barge, and all other facilities, (which we don’t know about). Detention Camps is the only way to stop this madness. Once these people realise that they will not be put into high class accommodation they will stop coming! I’m given to understand that the British ‘invented’ the concept of concentration camps, (during the Boer Wars). Time to reinvent them, and make it absolutely clear that anyone who decides to come here illegally will be immediately detained, sent to a detention centre, with no benefits other than basic accommodation, food and, perhaps, suitable clothing. Time to END THIS MADNESS.

What is happening in Sweden is going to happen here sooner rather than later. Our way of life is under threat.

You can tell how hard she’s trying not to say the wrong thing to upset anyone.

Another 3 freeloaders turned up in a taxi, to the hotel next door to me. About 50 living in here since 2019, and many go missing. Most working illegally every day, which is a disgrace. Young school girls and uni students daily walk past this hotel, and constantly have to listen to comments being thrown at them from the hotel windows. Every day I go and come back from work I see this. Nothing is being done, and only getting worse.

Saw two men, very dark Africans, walking into a small town shopping centre. They had the disciplined walk of soldiers. Very healthy and alert.

​@@mountainsofmourne I'm in a small town in New Zealand. A group of 6 dark African men in I'd say their 30s were in town asking for directions. It's extremely unusual for African tourists to come here so I'd say they are among the 1500 'refugees'our government brings I a year anf pampers while we have 100k homeless in our tiny populated country and 1 in 4 needing food bank help. There's a housing crisis in my town absolutely huge shortage yet refugees keep getting dumped here. Makes me so mad.

@@relaxation-Cornerwhat town is that? In Christchurch there are plenty of foreigners pretty much all residing in one or two suburbs, all Asians too particularly East Asians. But I and everyone else like them and they like us. There are barely any Africans, Middle Easterners, or Eurasians.

That the BBC national and regional, plus ITV regional and national say nothing about this….aswell as Sky say nothing unless it becomes a serious protest and then blame the locals is disgusting. There’s genuine concern yet politicians say nothing. Our government betray the people in favour of popularity over policy.

The Home office may as well add onto their statements that they continue to accept 80% of the asylum seeker's applications and so the problem is not going away any time soon. God forbid they should be honest.

It’s all young soldier aged Men . Here because they have run away from something . Here to get what they can . Send them home .

Rishi’s “solution” is to tell the useless civil servants to rubber stamp refugee status which in many many cases must be ridiculous. They then are all handed over to hapless local authorities who have to find them luxury accomodation and I guess they will be able to claim every benefit under the sun and if anything is not just so their free lawyers will diligently pursue every grievance with cries of racism.

Gemma is right to be concerned. Look up Sweden & Germany. This is genuinely a real threat to safety for anyone, let alone young children, woman & men.

Good to see local authorities bowing to public pressure ...People need to speak up the time of doing nothing and letting it continue is over

Tell him they are welcome to go home or back to France which ever they prefer but they will have to wait a few years for their case to be heard in the UK. Putting them up in hotels is beyond the pale.
