I think that the movie is a symbol for grief and acceptance when a loved one dies, everything went to hell around him when she died and he couldn't accept that, but when he let her stay dead everything returned to normal and he could finally move on.

I believe the movie is an allegory for abusive relationships. There were definitely signs that even before "dying", Beth wasn't the greatest person. His family didn't believe him when he tried to warn them, and her family just wanted to sweep it under the rug. As she became more verbally and physically abusive towards Zach, more zombies popped up, sort of illustrating how then abused person's world seems to fall apart and everyone seems like a predator. When he finally offs her, he states that he loves her, because his love was always genuine, but finally lets her go and everything seems to get better.

From my experience, a psychologist talks to you and pushes drugs on you. A neurologist gives you MRI and ECG (or was it EEG?). Anyway, my psychologist referred me to a neurologist when I had depression. Which means I ended up paying both of them AND a hospital bed for 3 days.

A couple argues about which zombies are scarier (slow ones or fast ones) and when one bites the girlfriend she becomes a zombie, but the guy keeps her locked in his room. Matthew Gray Gubler did a good job as the brother as well. Still playing the hero, just like in Criminal Minds.

John C. Reilly is such a great underrated actor. I loved him in boogie nights

I like the fact that they weren’t just mindless zombies and actually had cognitive thoughts and emotions

Not gonna lie, at first glance the thumbnail was giving me "Tanjiro carrying Nezuko" vibes and I immediately clicked it. Turns out I was wrong but still I didn't regret watching this till the end 😂

I love movies where it's all about our paranormal desires like Teleporting, being invisible, making your wish come true, and in this case bringing back loved ones from death and the movies ends with a valuable lesson.

This is the most I've seen Aubrey Plaza emote.

I like the movie. It's theme involves grief, and the struggle to get through it. I can't imagine having a deceased loved one suddenly come back from the dead right in front of me and acting like nothing ever happened.

Audrey Plaza, Dane Dehann, and Matthew Gray Gubler? HELL YEAH

this was a good film. first of all, the actors are all real actors and can act. second, the people in the film are just normal people reacting to a weird and scary event. real emotions are there with normal relationships. third, it’s a good production all around. 🎭

Reminds me of Les Revenant (The Returned).. the dead suddenly start coning back abd trying to ho back to their old lives .. their siblings grew up, their spouses moved on.. their children now adults, the world changed and no place for them.. its actually a really sad but wonderful show.

I like that this is somewhat accurate to how a zombie infection would work, usually they just turn on the zombie switch like 5 minutes after someone is bit edit: I said somewhat because the concept is usually ridiculous but if a zombie virus were to be real, it would slowly destroy the nerve system and eat away at their brain, their bodies and minds wouldn't rot that way in a couple of hours, that was the part that was the realistic part

Actually, this sounds like a really good movie.. good spin on the zombie idea, I can understand why he was the way he was, giving the situation, with the parents and leaking out to the public.. I dig it actually, plus I love Aubrey, she's been in a lot of other things (favorite, legend of Korra)
