what i found most funny is that for a large part of the trick he's actually just doing normal cups and balls things. the only thing that is impossible with typical tricks is placing the fruits under the cups when penn is picking the fruit after the last time you lifted those cups. in his head it must have been "yeah classic cup and balls, good execution and great storytelling" until the final one with the orange, then it's "allright, he can't have placed this orange beforehand so what will he followup with?" and at the exact moment he sees the orange, he's surprised.

Quite often the magician knows they aren't going to fool them and just want the exposure and a chance to perform for P&T. It also goes the other way as well. There's been quite a few times it was obvious P&T knew how the act was done but they liked it so much, they just pretended to be fooled so that person could get a spot to perform in one of their live shows.

Really the goal for any aspiring magician shouldn't be to fool P&T, even though the show is called Fool Us. The real aim should be to impress them with showmanship, skill, etc. Even when someone does fool them, it's probably something they could have figured out given another 5 minutes of chatting amongst themselves. They can probably perform 90% of any Fooler's trick on the spot, and trial and error the last 10% pretty quickly. Showmanship and skill are the real keys to success.

I'm visually impaired, so when the box fell apart, I asked myself "Is Kenshin hiding behind the boxes?". But no, I couldn't see him between the boxes. Then I eventually noticed there was a pile of cloth behind them, and thought "...he can't possibly be hiding under that, can he?". I thought to myself how awkward it would be if after the end everybody in the audience saw him get up and walk off stage right. And then the reveal, just as planned. It's a perfect bit! Penn's "under cover" line just made it even better. Like it was all scripted, but we know P&T don't do that, just icing on the cake. THAT is good comedy, right there.

If you look very closely at 2:52, there's a flash of a flange bracket pinned to the side of a mast, skeeting across the hopward delivery system that conceals a Taldini Trap across the front of a silk-lined mess-gyro that swings down through a fox-looped trough so that the back section of a finned grate covers the moment when a slatted grub-lattice wraps the Topshift Tourniquet tight enough to side-shift the wrist-blanker at the bottom of the misaligned bucket ledge holding the rough and smooth double-glazed window glass above the long-nosed flint where the finger sprockets fit into the moulded lateral Type Tucker. Either that, or there's someone under the table.

At one time it was, never tell the secret or they would lose interest. Movies, wrestling, magic. Professionals have learned that discovering the trick doesn't always ruin the trick. But it can highlight how tough it can be with physical dexterity or how simple it can be, so simple you cant believe it was really that easy. I like where you can basically show the trick but still see the amazement in the person not knowing, but you also realize its not camera tricks or cuts and edits. You are taking the conedy and magic and putting it together in a very penn and teller style. While i hate to say it, they (P&T) are nit going to be around forever. That being said, you have the style to start filling their shoes. And you two might eventually be the next big duo.. congrats. More important than fooling them, you entertained them. Congratulations young fellers, you did great.

However it's difficult to do that without Penn figuring out that it's one of those tricks, and then putting together the rest. Tearing the whole thing down at the end, was great for the audience to have a trick they couldn't quite figure out as well; however I think it hurt the trick. Once teller saw that the big sell at the end was these boxes, and the audience's reaction to them; it becomes quite apparent that they were not there before, calling into question exactly what was there before. It was a thrilling finish, but the wrong one to trick Penn.

What a great show. Especially for kids. Loved that act. It had everything I want from a magic show. Didn't try to look like real magic. Was all executed and had a few surprises, that everyone can recognize

It would have been a great twist if Kenshin was in the audience at the end. If the under table bit was being recorded offstage, that might work.

A trick where everyone *except* the guy on stage is in on it? That's a great trick to do for Penn and Teller, they seem to like those
