Well stated and those who have moved to the Philippines will get the most flack from other expats. Sad but true and I could care less what they think now. I was a 6 year resident of the Pi. Many expats are bombed by 12 noon and sit in judgment of anyone who is around.

Years ago i knew an American man ( then ) in his 70s who married a Filipina in her 30s. He went on to live well into his 90s... and she stuck with him to the very end.

Chad please let the girls finish their sentences. Great questions, but I’m interested in what she has to say without you interrupting, and leading her answers. Super interesting interview. These girls have no idea how they’re going to react abroad when they meet a good looking successful guy their own age in the workplace. 40 year age gap bringing a pretty Filipina to Germany to work is taking huge financial, and emotional risks. I’m sure most don’t have intentions on leaving their husband, but people change, and young people change even more. Save, invest, live and keep ‘em in the Philippines.

She's great, and they are both very lucky to have found one another. At 55 myself, I'm not particularly concerned with how society views me, but it's nice to know there's still a bit of hope.

Not having children is usually a deal breaker for young Filipinas. If an older foreigner doesn't want or can't have kids, his choices are limited.

Continue to travel and explore for as long as it turns you on. Put yourself first. Looking back years from now, you'll be glad you did it that way. Then, when you've had enough, move to Dumaguete or Angeles City and create a comfortable life. Again, make yourself the priority. It's your life.

Hi Chad, I just met my Filipina in May after just over a year of talking. We met on Christian Filipina and after a month, I did the first video chat to make sure I wasn't being scammed. After 5 months, I spent a lot of extra money to send a lady from Christian Filipina to send her flowers, meet her, and ensure she is single and doesn't have any kids (as she had stated on her profile). From there, we just talked every single day. Our age gap is 18 years between us. Our values and family tradition matches, and she was the shy one. She didn't want to say I love you until she meant it. So, I waited for her "I love you" until she felt it was genuine. I didn't push it, and I just enjoyed our time together. I honestly was shy as well because I didn't think she would find an older guy attractive. While she wants me to lose my belly a little, she is EXTREMELY attracted to me. She is more concerned about my health than my looks. She loves my personality and she misses me tremendously right now. She did not ever ask for money, and was insulted if I wanted to help her get a travel visa to come back to Canada with her, but accepted after I mentioned how long it would take for her to save up for the $100 CA fee, as well as a round trip. She didn't want ANYONE to think that she only wants my money, and she wants to contribute to the relationship. The Filipina in this video is absolutely correct about the way a man thinks and behaves at certain ages, but my personal opinion is that a man who has lived through his midlife crisis, and has made positive changes in his life is going to be the best match. This can happen as early as 42 - 46 years of age, or even younger for some. During a midlife crisis, a man comes to terms with his mortality, and learns what he must do to better his next half of his life. He makes positive choices, and learns to focus on the things that are important to him... his family, making better memories, making better health decisions, and most importantly to a Filipina - learning that love is not hedonistic but selfless and heartfelt. Sadly, knowing what you want isn't the key, in my experience. Because you can chose the one you think is right, and then she can turn out to be a narcissistic nightmare down the road. It takes a great deal of luck and tons of discernment.

Nice interview Chad! I've been living with my Filipina girlfriend for almost 3 years now. It just keeps getting better and better but we've had to have lots of "tampo" sessions to learn how to adapt to each other. In the end, it's worth persevering so trust can develop. I have a friend who works in INS in Florida, according to him, INS statistics, American men \ Filipina wife, in the USA, are a 78% divorce rate within first 2 years, no statistics if they live in the Philippines. So you are correct, NEVER bring her to the USA, I know personally. Russian girl \ American man, divorce rate 96%, Filipina's better, but not by much, enter at you're own risk.

@@JeremiahHexxfinally some real #s. Thanks for the post. Guys bring their girls here, and spin the roulette wheel because they’re not financially ready to go live in the Philippines yet. Guys also underestimate how painful it will be when the relationship fails here on US soil. These train wrecks can set a guy back financially for years, and damage their mental health significantly. It’s bad, real bad. It’s not worth the risk. Also most of these girls are so miserable long term missing their culture, friends, and family that they are NOT fun to be around. Being with a miserable homesick partner is not a win. Save, invest, and move abroad is the only way to go.

I love her observations " most foreigners come there are not rich" exactly. they are mostly older men who are lonely and then find all of this interest in younger women that never would consider them back at home....It becomes a new world to the men and now a major promotion among vloggers on KZread. If you are happy great.....just be careful with your finances because that is critical as you get older.

As a foreigner, simply based on what I've heard from PH citizens, I'd probably propose that the reason for the judgments of age gap in PH is simply that it's something they *can* judge. :) Just from one person I'm talking to currently (we're hoping to get a long-term relationship work) I've heard how she was ridiculed/judged for being brown skinned, for not speaking English confidently, for not having visited cities like Manila, even for being abused... It's a nice culture with solid values, but it seems it does have a fair degree of cruelty too.

Do not build on top of FEELINGS. Feelings WILL fluctuaye through life. So that would be as stupid as building a house on top of mud!. Find a QUALITY girl with strong VALUES. Values (core values) is what matters. That is what you can build on top of!. That would be much more stable. Like building a house on proper grounding. Then you GROW REAL love, inside that "home" that is "built" on top of strong foundations (values and intrgrity. Religion is often a good anchor to protect from corruptions). The house is a metaphore to better describe.

I think she "nailed it" when she said "know what you want" in a woman. I learned early in life that women exist who are beautiful, smart, with good personalities. But after spending time with them I knew I could not live with them. For example, I dated a hot lady who initially seemed to have all the physical and personality attributes I liked but when I stayed at her house a few times, lol, the "thrill was gone." She had pets to include birds, dogs, cats. Her house reeked of bad animal smell. We were going upstairs for an evening of intimacy when I stepped into some dog excrement... - yeah a real buzz kill. She was in her late 40's but was still in the party mode which included pot. I don't do pot. I'm a social drinker so a beer or two is fine. she drank too much. While our intimacy, except for the dog poo, was fantastic it turned out that the porn she liked was a bit too weird for me. A number of other factors of her lifestyle also resulted in me breaking things off. In short, I look out how a woman lives in relation to how I want to live. I'll take less attractive if we have similar tastes in how we want our household to be. BTW I did live in the PI for 2 years. I loved it and believe many great Filipinas exist but you need to do "due diligence" and that applies to women of any country.

Like several roosters just going nuts the entire time!!! She said it is constant noise from like 4am - sundown (often a bit later). Yikes, would drive me bananas.

Some interesting topics covered. It is interesting that whether in the West, or in the Philippines (and other countries) there are expected conventions when it comes to comparative ages between two people in a relationship, but I rarely hear anyone from the anti crowd, back up their opinion with anything solid in terms of justifying why they feel so strongly about it. Ever heard of the person who loses a lot of weight having a hard time from their out of shape or overweight friends, with negative comments like 'I bet they put the weight back on'. Is it the same for outside observers either not in a relationship, or not in a happy relationship, expressing negatively in some sort of way to make them feel better about themselves. This young lady is more eloquent and able to express her feelings and opinions than most young women in the west, that's for sure, and her open mindedness, without being reckless or inconsiderate, makes for a refreshing change. If age is just a number then the age difference is almost irrelevant. Of course there are examples in the west that most people know, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher (even if they're not still together, they were together for 8 years. Anyways, good luck to them both.

I live in the Philippines with my Filipina wife and our family. We met in Hong Kong, 11 years ago. Now we live here. We own property, both residential and commercial, and have a decent income. Our kids are doing well - at school and in university. We met in person, not online, but I am not going to criticise such relationships. When we met, she was 36 and I was 47 and we both have kids from previous relationships. We are doing fine here, as are the kids. I have afforded my wife opportunities she would otherwise not have had. We have been to Thailand, Malaysia, Macau, Belgium, the Netherlands and France. But we still come back home, to the Philippines.

They want to be rich says it all This woman is insightful. These men who are considered below average in the USA becomes rock stars in the Philippines

Wow - That was the best video I have seen by far on the subject of relationships in the Philippines and the expectations of the Filipna. I was in an LDR for 16 months, finally met my lady and spent just over 3 weeks with her in the Philippines and had a great time, fell in love and she with me. Now I am back home she has taken another overseas job and I am not coping as well this time after meeting her. Going back to LDR is hard and we have had some communication problems. I met her family and friends when I visited and stayed at her house for a week so got to see how daily life is for her. One thing I have noticed since we first started chatting is that she struggles from time to time with the long hours she works mostly as a OFW and her work seems to be the one area where she does not fully open up to me. Normally she says this is my problem, I am okay and will work it out. I just wish she would open up to me more about her struggles at work.

I've been BADLY burned twice. Both times stated online, went to visit, spent a fortune, made plans for marriage, then it went sideways shortly after I returned home, both times. Out of sight out of mind with those women. Devastating.

To my fellow expats or soon to be expats, the young woman being interviewed is rather charming, and seemingly intelligent. But you can’t really be sure unless you entertain time and indepth conversation with her yourself. Just know that most women here are cunning, clever, and shrewd, and that’s not the same as smart. However, that’s not a knock against them. The society here pretty much dictates that they be that way (survival). But, it’s up to us as men to know the difference and put ourselves in a winning position. I’ve witnessed too many men come here and get duped, burned, and bamboozled. Be wise! Move with purpose and caution…

They're actually not smart at all. These desperate men who are conned have no common sense or awareness when in relationships. They wouldn't know a red flag if it hit them on the face and knocked them out. They become so stupidly in love, that their brain turns to mush. Filipinas are very easy to read with behaviours.

Great interview with a very open, clear, and self aware lady. I suspect that there a lot of women there who are like her but simply lack the ability to express her views so clearly, That's why it takes patience for many questions to be answered, a lot of guys blow it early on. My experience in the early 1990's in the Philippines interacting with people taught me to not rush friendships and businesses, things really need to grow there to amount to something truly meaningful.

Thanks for that. I can only speak for my personal experience and also others who I've chatted with about this topic. I would say it's extremely rare to meet someone like Fretchie with her depth of thinking I haven't met anyone else in 1.5 years.

A very insightful, intelligent , articulate and beautiful woman. All the best to her and her partner, he's a fortunate man. She will most likely find it a very difficult challenge to be away from her family. If they choose to live in Germany.

If she goes to Germany to be a PT, guys of all ages will be all over her.

Relationships are complicated in all cultures. Pick rubbish and you’ll get rubbish.

First tike watching her and before she mentioned her background in the end of the video, I knew she was an educated women. She is smart, educated and funny young woman. I wish them well but I smell long term game in her(citizenship) then leave the man. Filipinos are proud people and tribal, whenever they date or marry outside of their community, it's usually for a reason but there is nothing wrong marrying someone for a reason(win win Situation). Btw, tribes in the Philippines don't intermarry that much. This woman is youn, educated and smart so Filipino eyes, she is lowering her standard but Germany deal is too hard to refuse. Good luck to her.

I re-watched your interview with Fretchie from 4 months ago. Of course there will be additional pressures and risks bringing her to Germany, but she is already being judged in PH and seems to have a strong sense of self and know what she wants.... and is learning and benefiting more from a relationship with an older guy. Just like any relationship, time will tell. IMO every relationship is transactional anyway - Western Women ALWAYS include Dollars as one of the "6's", but somehow Filipina's are Gold Diggers if they want security too... hypocrites... and what do we get in return - a Gold Digging Divorce Lawsuit. The most profound thing this Filipina said was. Know What You Want. As a Canadian now living in the Philippines with an awesome Filipina, I would say most foreigners do not know what they want, either in their home country or here. If you are a goof in the west, you will be a goof here, and deserve what you end up with.

If you are Christian and old enough to retire here, skip the online stuff. Search for a location that fits your needs and wants. Then search for a church of your denomination. Almost all are here. Everyone will welcome you when you come to their church. It may be a little hard not knowing what the preacher is saying. They sing a lot of songs in English so that gets me by. I am 64 and met a woman who is 19. We been together about 6 months . I have no children and would like to have some. It is like she is saying about them being scared, meeting you in person compared to online. You really have to go slow so they can really be assured of your intensions. If finding a wife is your intension then this may be the best way. If you're looking for a girl to just play around with this is not the way.

Absolutely great interview Chad! Really enjoyed it. I am 60 yr old American in NC, had a 34 yr old Filipina GF for 2.5 yrs till earlier this year. Traveled to see her on 3 separate trips. It didn’t work out due to personality issues which had nothing to do with age. I’m absolutely convinced (after 2.5 yrs and many weeks of that in person with her) we had a REAL romance no different than if I was 3-4 yrs older than her. She NEVER asked me for money. I’m now involved with an even younger Filipina (she’s 22). We VC every day and I plan to visit her in the PH next week. No money involved in our relationship either. She indicates age isn’t a problem. (I’m active and in fairly good shape, workout multiple times a week). She’s quite young, I know, but she is devoted. We need to interact in person, of course, to more fully assess our relationship.

I am 61 currently in Myrtle Beach. I have been "dating" a 21 year old. She is a friend of my friend's son's gf. I am going back to Indy for the rest of the summer. Agree, western women will all try and marry up, its no different in the Philippines its just that westerners have a lot more choices in women who want to marry up. Simple as that. Just have to find the right one. Some western guys are single because they are so gruff. Coming to the Philippines will not change who they are, and if they get taken advantage of or scammed, it would be understandable, I think. Bars are almost always negative. Not seen ANY great net gain contribution bars adds to anywhere in the world. Keep the drunkness and alcohol back in the west. Going to other side of thevworld... to hang oyt in bars... in my view that is just sad and pathetic tbh. Why waste life time on alcohol.

The big difference which is laughable at first--just as the rock to the waves-gradually over time it tales it’s toll. I can’t speak about Germany as even a less older guy, if she were my wife living in the States, everywhere she goes by herself dudes would be throwing themselves at her and even trying to sabotage the relationship! I have seen 18 year olds with 50 60 plus age men. The Phils has a very different outlook on this topic. I honestly have never understood it, but It happens all the time there. It all started with Reekays channel. I think the most comon mistakes made is Alcoholism, Giving to much to the filipina, and the guy not knowing exactly what he wants because of the choices. There is always an opportunity that will come up over time to find a better looking filipina. Be patient an take your time. It may take months to find the right girl. Learning to be content in who he chooses is the best an it makes for a happy relationship an stable life. Know what your looking for an tell the girl the truth. Dont lead her on an later break her heart. If you want to just date an share a great time with her regularly, tell her. If your looking for a life companion, Tell her. If your looking to get married later, Tell her. But do not lie to her. If your living in a community like Duma, It will not be long before all the girls dating will know who you are. CDO, in the ountains is great. Valencia is in the mountan area an Baugio area. Its cooler in the summer. The heat is a real killer in deep summer an when it rains, IT RAINS. LOL Guys I sincerely suggest you listen to this girl carefully. She is exactly on point. Guys there are 4 basic factors that must be met. If you lack just 1 it will not workout for you if you choose to move to the Phils. 1. You need a steady income. Some say 1500 to 2000 a month is good. I do not agree, but thats just me. I think 3500 to 5000 is a safe sweet spot to be, in case something goes wrong. At least 10k or more kept in savings. 2. You need to be an outgoing person. No fuddy duddies. 3. You MUST have a love for the Phils. Not necesaaily the women. But the Phils an the filipino people in general. If you do not love the phils, its not gona work. Also, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. im saying dot every I, an cross every T. 4. Your member needs to function. if any of these are out of line. You loose taking a chance in the Phils. This is just my observation.

Good advice about loving the place and people. May I add women here very much desire having children with someone with white skin and pointy noses. More I think than someone who is rich.

When men from other countries have been in the Philippines for a while, a Filipina knows that she's not the first and the man is probably ran through many of them already. We know they're jealous and that's just not appealing to them. Call it a red flag. Just like with men, If we know a Filipina has been dating foreigners, it's a turn off and also a red flag.

One of mine and girlfriend biggest argument is 3 months already and I'm not head over heals and I ask for more time and I tell her I have love and feelings but we argue a lot but work it out I'm just hoping to get past that before a solid commitment of marriage or something is that wrong?

Have you ever met her? A wife is supposed to be submissive and obedient according to thr bible and the Quran. So if she is so far from shyness that she openly argue/quarell so much with you now... how do you think that will evolve after a marriage?. I do not know you guys, but if this is only online so far... i would adviced to move on. Its high ridk with a woman who does not shy from being openly argumentayive and quarell. It almost never gets better.

If you are serious about finding a girl that really likes you for you, then definitely don't go flashing money around. A genuine girl will be concerned you are not spending too much on food or shopping and will even say no when you offer to buy her things. Spend time with the girl first and don't be extravagant, then if she stays she may just be the one. Be especially careful about the ones that quickly mentions her money problems and family needing assistance.

It’s funny how she points out all the losers that go to Philippines searching for their next gf. True a retired man is perhaps more settled down and financially stable. But in reality many of them that we all see on KZread and old and poor and not settling, still searching. Bringing her back to Germany is her working as a OFW as his caregiver eventually but she will have a second opportunity to find a new man when that old guy dies.

Do philippinas also date or marry with older Philippino guys? Wich such a big age gap?

If they have power (status, money, stability, etc) then yes. BUT most filipino men would gotten married muvh younger. And with no divorces. There is not many older filipinos to "choose" ftom fir filipinas anyway. And average lifeexpectancy in the Philippines is only 68 years old. While in Japan and Germany it is almost 20 years more. So a filipina marrying a 60 year old filipino? Only have a few years of life before it would end. While a filipina who marries a 60 year old wesyerner, may on average have 25+ years of life together. In addition, average age in the philippines population is only 25 years old. So the ratio between ypung vs old filipinos is tiny. So even IF wanted to... it would almost impossible to finc any available older filipino males.

Money vs love is silly. That's the same as saying for guys beauty vs love. Females fall in love with providers. Males fall in love with beautiful women. Of course many other things are important too, but provider is the first bar males must pass. Beauty is the first bar females must pass.

A beautiful young lady with experience beyond her years and honesty.....well 90%....I say that because when you asked her about whether she really does like the 'old man' look, you know the wrinkles etc as you mentioned, she was slightly hesitant in answering and she looked up towards her left, which suggest she is being dishonest and covering a lie......if she'd looked up to the right then that would be indicative of cognitive considered thought and her answer would be compatible with that process......so not the case here and I'm afraid she's lying about her attraction to ''old men with wrinkles', it's just perhaps something she can overlook and I would suggest that is likely to be the more honest answer. Her eyes will wonder in the West and it will only then become a realisation that the true test of the strength of the relationship is upon them!!!
