Young Dolph on Seeing Murders Weekly Growing Up in Memphis (RIP)

Ойын-сауық

In this flashback from 2014, Young Dolph detailed his experiences in Memphis. He admitted that his neighborhood was filled with crime and violence, forcing him to make getting out of the hood his main priority. The late rapper talked about hustling at a young age to support his family, rather than focus on school. He claimed he started hustling at 14 but didn't take it seriously until he turned 16. After being inspired by C-Murder and Boosie, Dolph started pursuing rap between 2008 and 2009 before working with other Memphis legends such as Juicy J and Yo Gotti. To hear more, check out the flashback above.

"see some don't realize the power of lyrics, cuz when you RAP about DEATH, you talkin' to SPIRITS. See we can rap about the things that make us all ball, or rap about things that make it hard for us ALL" Dj QUIK. "Youz a gangsta" If young Dolph was rapping about ANY of that bullshit, then this is the kind of stuff that's going to happen. This is the kind of stuff that's going to keep happening. The minute these rappers learn that all of these rhymes, are actual fucking SPELLS that they are putting out, then they will change the words that they say and start talking more positive and powerful things into existence. The only thing they keep talking into existence is death, destruction of the culture, love of paper money, thievery and disrespect. There is no code of honor in any of these rhymes and so there is no code of honor in the Black culture. Hip hop and our culture are intertwined. Notice that as hip hop goes, so does the Black culture. The Bible says that God said "let there be light and so it was." Never underestimate the power of the word folks. See how God like we are.
