    Thank you Benzino for explaining that..."You can not stay" when Terry crews made his statement about being uncomfortable around certain "black people" alot felt like he was a sell out. But as a successful black man myself, I learned fast, it's dangerous to keep hanging in the hood your from. I can't count how many times a nigga tired running down on me when I became successful...now I'm taking a chance on my life, maybe I get locked up, but I take a huge chance of losing everything. The problem is most people don't understand that level of jealousy, it almost like something demonic, even people you've been around you your whole life will do you. Dolph biggest mistake is he tired to stay true to his principals and didn't move.

    But when it comes to the murder of someone man woman child black or white people need to come forward and drop that snitch mentality. There's no reason not to cooperate what if it were your family member and there were I witnesses will you not want some satisfaction, some justice for your peace of mind for the sake of your loved one. We need to drop this snitch mentality because we are protecting murderers people who kill and will continue to kill and cause our communities to fear one another, the police, other racist of people then there is no ever no respect or trust because we are left looking stupid, ignorant, crazy, murderous people and it then begins to look as if we are a dangerous people and we have no love or respect for ourselves or one another. We need to drop this n***** word and we need to stop believing in this snitch mentality because those are some of the things that are killing our culture, our people and this is how other people look at us and believe that we are such a dangerous people but that is not the case because there are a lot of people in all different communities and races who commit crimes against others causing pain to people who love the members of their family and just says anyone else loves their family members. And let us not forget it's simply the right thing to do. So when you have no morals and no respect and no humanity this is what the world looks like.

    The main reason it’s so hard for rappers to leave their hood is because those people in the hood are the folks they actually KNOW. It’s not nowhere near as fun or rewarding for them to go live around a bunch of other rich strangers. That don’t care about your car or mansion cause they got one too. What is the most exciting and and feels good is achieving all this new wealth and success, and being able to show it to the people you actually do know, and have been around. The feeling you’d get riding down the street in a foreign with the roof and all of a sudden you’re passing an ex from high school or a chick you had a crush on and couldn’t get back in the day. Those the type of things they do it for. But those same exact things is what gets them killed I’m that place, cause not only are you showing OUT to your friends and family and people that like you. But at the same exact time, you’re showing OFF to the one dude you beat up in 11th grade. You’re flexing on the nigga that your cousin and best friend had shot at that house party back in 2017. And those people aren’t too happy to see you back around being rich and successful. Seeing you on tv next to the girl they jackoff too on Instagram. Now they see you with her at the local wing spot while you tryna show her around where you from. Then they start getting ideas and plotting situations. They use a fake excuse and are even lying to themselves when they say it’s cause they want to rob you. When the whole time it’s really just the hate and rage bubbling up inside them and they can’t take it no more. So You gotta go.. and you either going to leave willingly, or we gone catch you on the highway when you least suspect it and can’t properly react to save your life. Cause when they seen you the “robbery” instantly went out the door, and they mouths started watering just by the thought that this is their chance to get you. And they make they move..

    Dolph did leave but he was trying to make a difference in his neighborhood.The point is no matter how much we leave the hood, it gets worse.Leaving the hood is not the answer.The hood is our foundation.We have to build it up and it takes more than just one person.Dolph did a lot in Memphis but he wasnt able to do it alone.This is a national crisis that needs to be addressed on a national level.We did not create this enviorment so, for the responsibilty to fix it should not be squarely on us, in my opinon.

    Benzino was speaking truth. Dolph and von death are the two hip hop deaths that made me thankul that I could put out a different type energy through music. The energy being put out is destroying us. The power of life and death is in your "tongue." This is why I do music the way I do. With no curse, NO DISRESPECT TO WOMEN. No talking about getting drunk or high or killing my brothers. LIFE MUSIC. My styles compared to Nas. Got a album TALE FROM THE STREET coming out March 2022 ft Bosstop, Jada, Busta. Hope y'all support it!

    @For The UnderWorld I doubt that,but the guys who played in the NBA NFL could be found playing pick up games at the local gym with the neighborhood guys without fear of injury or being robbed. Today forget about it. And white guys don't just hangout in their old neighborhood either

  • @macavelli8905

    @macavelli8905

    @For The UnderWorld the amount of force that would come from such a target being attacked, would make that possible. You are simply talking about entertainer's and athletes being able to go to their old hood's and interact, you can't without security. There is an element of the community that would believe they could rob them unfortunately. Zuck can't go to his old hood without security outside the house, white collar criminals would attempt to kidnap him of course without success, but the attempt would be possible. The rapper who goes to his old hood has protection from the gang in that hood,so he can to some degree be there but they are a open target if it's not some kind of community give away . So you can go but how safe you are is a whole other thing...

    At first I was going to make a joke about Benzino saying that Dolph said he still got it but I'm not going that route. Memphis is my hometown and everything Benzino said was real. It really hit me when he said the poverty that AMERICA has put Memphis in. Look, I haven't lived there since I graduated high school back in the '90s mainly because there is no way I would have the life I have now. People don't understand the politics that has made Memphis that way it is with the state legislature taking Memphis' tax revenue and building up Nashville (and Knoxville to a certain extent). A large % of Black people in Memphis migrated from poor areas in Mississippi. It has a stigma and major businesses tend to avoid it. It's really sad because it's a great community but poverty just dominates and unfortunately for many people, desperate times call for desperate measures. I pray for my hometown all of the time. Benzino hit the nail on the head with some real truth right here.

    I feel what you're saying. I'm originally from the West Coast but I been living in Atlanta almost 20 years. I used to fuck with a chick from Memphis. She lived in South Memphis to be exact. I been a lot of places and every where has ghettos and hood but the poverty in Memphis is like Benzino said on some 3rd world country type shit. It was hella depressing. The only other place like that I been was Gary, In. I kept wondering how the hell did Memphis get like that? Is it the education system lack of jobs what??

I honestly think it made me a better person. I'd go back home and it seemed 2 get worse each time I went, what Benzino said is what I try 2 tell MY people when they say folks back home aren't trying 2 do better. They can't because they trying 2 survive day by day and there's not a whole lot of opportunities 2 make their lives better. When U hear black people say it's mostly our fault 4 and we need 2 do better, I ask them how when we got lucky enough 2 have the opportunity 2 leave when most never even leave the hood let alone the city. Smh I don't understand Y they don't see that.

    I totally agree, it's so sad that Memphis has become such a low proverty city. It really hurts to hear that from others. The truth is the city government takes the revenue and invest it in the white neighborhood. The jobs are not paying what they should to employees. You are overworked underpaid and mist work 2 jobs just to pay rent.
