Young & Company - I Like [What You're Doing To Me] (1980)
This funky sextet was centered around the brothers Billy, Mike and Kenneth Young from West Virginia, USA. After moving to East Orange, New Jersey, in 1970 they formed the Young Movement with Buddy ‘Hank’ Hankerson, an ex-member of Aurra (bass/keyboards/guitar) and Dave Reyes (drums). When vocalist Jackie Thomas joined in 1979 they first recorded as Young & Co. Among the first tracks theyrecorded was ‘I Like (What You’re Doing To Me’, which reputedly sold over 250, 000 in the USA, and did go all the way into the UK Top 20 in 1980.
This video was recorded by TROS TV program Star Club, 26 jan 1981.

The white guy dancing in the background was a very popular dancer on the "Top of the pops" back then. He appeared in numerous music videos back then as well.

I didn't get to hear this song in 1980. I lived in Newyork between 1976 to 1985. I was always at the club every night having fun. Great Times

I remember dancing to this in 1980 at My School Dance. What Memories. They Recorded for Brunswick Records which was the "Same" Record Label that Jackie Wilson also recorded for back in the early days of his career.

@@michaelrobinson3734 Maybe in your region but it was never played in mine. I bought a lot of music back then. They focused on mostly established artist or crossover hits. This song was a club hit but not a lot of national radio play outside the urban area’s. Did they have any other hits?
