What a breath of fresh air this girl interviewing is! Patient, witty, likeable, informed, engaging. So different from the aggressive, uninformed, dislikable bimbos that's become the norm. AS for JD. What a treasure, and so correct about the lamentable state of modern "comedy", which I never laugh at.

Sticking black children to the windows of supermarkets with their big lips so that you can keep them quiet whilst shopping. That was one of his favourite "jokes" and who could possibly be offended by that? The truth is in the seventies we used to accept a lot of shit. Paedophiles were "dirty old men" and just accepted as an inevitable part of society. Fat drunk old men were "comedians" who told mother in law jokes, jokes about fancying underage girls and a bit of casual racism thrown in for effect.

Am English Irish Scots with a bit of everything mixed in being from London, it's not where people are from, nor their colour, tbh if I could choose I would be somewhat darker..the problem comes with ideology morals and attitude 😉 the Story here of the black guys accent happened to me with my friends brother 😀

I remember being in Redruth 20 years ago and overhearing 3 old fellas speaking to each other in the old local celtic lang. A lot of streets had the black flag with white cross on to. Nice town, nice people.

Love Jim Davidson - he's Marmite - but to me he is not only funny but a genuine guy. The work he continues to do for the servicemen and women is phenomenal. I loved 'Nick-nick' and Chalky. When you can't laugh at life or yourself, it is sad, in my opinion.

Watching this interview gave me the comfort of being sat in the Pub on a Sunday lunch time. Times when they would shut at 2.30. My father would be conversering with his friends, Eli comes to mind, a barbadian chap who had an allotment next to dads. Sat around that little table in the corner of the Albion, warm and cosey not wanting it to end.

I left England for Australia in the first few days of 1970 at the age of nineteen. Apart from the geographical distance it's become obvious to me (after watching KZread over the last year) that we've been isolated in other ways. I'd never heard of Jim apart from recently seeing him on GB News. Just before I left England, I became aware of names like Jimmy Tarbuck and Les Dawson following on the tail of people like Dave Allen.

I've been where he is regarding Yewtree - it's horrible being accused of something you have not done - especially something that hanus.

Being branded sexist racist and homophobic (ie politically incorrect) is bad enough but now the people who want to tarnish everyone of a certain age and certain class now have a new smear tactic. There's something sinister about the coverage of these accusations of supposed crimes that happened 40 or 50 years ago while cases in Rotherham, Rochdale and the like that are still ongoing are hushed up. Its almost as though historical accusations have been brought to the fore to take the heat off ongoing abuse
