Also Virkon S in the drinking water completely cleanses the crop and system. Half a teaspoon to 5 litres of drinking water

I had bad situation last yr in December 2023 6 birds got sick with Canker first then same as yours pooping sickly droppings I lost all 6 birds within a week!. I put flock on Coxiprol and Apple cider vinegar for a month they are all doing well.

Glad you were able to figure it out. I got lucky with mine. They pulled through… I think an elderberry product helped.

What i been told to give birds no feed only water and grit for two theys and they were fine but im new getting advice from old guys and it worked 😊

I use Adeno Zap. Sundays and mondays after races for prevention and 5 to 7 days in your situation. Works good for me

I have heard good things about Adeno Zap

I don’t race homers but I just came across the same situation with my roller pigeons just this past week. I’m now using home remedies. Hopefully the birds in your care gets better.

Dont do anything or they’ll get it again. Just let it run it’s course. I treated it before it spread through out the loft the first time and my birds got sick 2 weeks later. I let it run it’s course the second time and the birds are fine now. Small seeds and fresh water. Just wait it out.

Bummer. That’s got to be extremely frustrating-sorry! Not your fault at all. I’m not an expert but at this point I would probably just try to build them up with vitamins (Omniform, Nutridrops, Red Cell, or the like); essentially boost their immune system

That sucks! They more than likely got it when they went on that group toss with the other birds from Boomtown.

The loft we tossed with at boomtown have not been sick. I did have birds come home late from a 30 mile toss Wednesday. Maybe they got mixed up with other pigeons

Sick birds is just part of the game. Personally I don't treat mine when they have those symptoms in the video. A couple days rest, a couple tosses during the week and back to the races. But you're the steward of your loft. There's many roads to Rome.

.. Any updates with what's happening with the birds and the races?

Sorry… need to get a video up. Birds are great, 50 mile toss yesterday, 80 tomorrow… 200 mile race Saturday

That's kind of too fast for them to get it bad. They might, but way too fast to manifest ... but i could be wrong. My birds had it but it was light while other lofts had it bad... it all depends... Re-check the droppings, see how they do on a loft fly... give them rest and lots of "love" and see how they do. The droppings is the best indicator but one or two shouldn't hold the others back if the look abd feel fine. You can always treat individually. If many are sick then skipping a race may be necessary. I know you know what to do.

I think they must of been exposed prior to the race, four more puked last night, more droppings are off… 👎

Let it run it course. Mix minerals & tumeric in the food and electrolite in the drink.

You feeding any Grit? Could be just that the bird's over ate and doing Roman Ralph! Check the dropping again.

I will vaccinate them as soon as possible with RP Vacc. mine experience show me its the best and without antibiotics. but you must do it right after you see the sympthoms.... this should be done when they much younger, approx 45 days old, then you dont have to worry about it at all

damn... thats no fun. are you gunna try and quarantine the sick birds or just let it run its course?

I have at least three with bad droppings, and the two that puked. I will keep them all together. If it was isolated to just one bird I might pull it out, but at this point, I am going to let it run its course. I have flown maybe a dozen YB series over the past 18 years, never had this issue but have heard plenty about it

Thats a good thing but isn't it better we all find the cause of this happening?. "Prevention is better than cure". Some one needs to be accountable they not dosing there bird's.

Ive had ybs every year for last 10 years and after much experimenting this is what I do now.... 1. Stop all feed for 36 hours to clear out the crop, the loft will be a mess of horrible green slime but it must be done. 2. Put electrolytes in the water to stop dehydration. 3. After 36 hrs give 3 very small feeds a day of a light feed, depurative is ideal. 4.Build up the food slowly over a 7 day period until back on normal feeding. 5. After 5 days give vitamins and minerals + good food suplement to build them back up. Some birds wont get ybs at all but the light diet will do them good. No loft flying for a week!
