Racing pigeons must have a huge mental effects when racing, these birds are taken away from home to fly back to its safe environment its nest or mate.does this effect on the disease to enter the bodystudys have found.the true fact is a pigeon is a very lazy bird only flying to short distance for food and water but man has forced the pigeon on the task to race and find its safty of home.i raced for many years and have never thought about before until my son told me his thoughts and asked me is it cruel to send pigeons long distance to find home,its very disturbing for the birds.
