What a flashback. My grandmother watched this religiously. Weekdays from 11am had Santa Barbara, midday was young and the restless, and 1pm was days of our lives - all of which she watched religiously. Of course as a kid in the 80s none of it interested me, even less by the time I was 16 in 1996, I just hated the over-dramatics and cliffhanger like scene endings. That said, I actually liked old "victor" (Eric braeden)he was cunning.

I like how Mary J. Blige samples this theme song in her song "No More Drama". And she also has a line in there that is a bit of an Easter egg: "..or maybe I like the stress. Cause I was young and restless." I remember hearing the song for the first time and seeing the video thinking, "that sounds very familiar". I say go watch the video "No More Drama" if you didn't notice it before or if you've never seen the video or realized MJB has a song with this theme song sampled. Amazing song too. Came out around the time 9/11 happened and it even had a scene of one of the planes crashing into a building but was later removed. The drama she spoke about at that moment was the innocent lives lost as a result of the hijacking of the planes. It hits deep. The lyrics are so heartfelt. My favorite part and a part I will never forget is when she says, "I don't know. Only God knows where the story ends, for me, but I know where the story begins " ❤

This hit me right in the childhood. So so SO many days of hearing this theme as a kid. My mom and grandma both watched “Young and the Restless” all the time. This takes me back to simpler times man, it truly does. I’d give anything to go back to those simple carefree days of the 90’s.

One way or another this show was in ours lives, even if just hearing the song in passing. If you’re a 90’s kid, you know this song nearly by heart. Lol

My mom would watch this when I was kid in the 90's. I remember when I was like 12 I was thinking how does Victor get such a pretty girlfriend he's old and ugly. Of course he was only like mid 50's back then. Now he's about to be 80 this year. I got hook around 2003. Kevin and Lily storyline got me hook.

YES absolutely! Young and the Restless / Bold and the Beautiful.....and chicken soup.
I was 8 years old in 96, and this brings back so many memories. At the time I hated hearing this song, because it meant my mom had the TV for the next four hours to watch all of her stories, but now what I'd give to have my mom back and do it all over again!

Not gonna lie, watching this made me choke up a little bit since this was my Grandmother's favorite show when she was around. Made me nostalgic for those days growing up in Detroit during the 90s and hearing this theme song in passing.
These days as a kid that you thought were the worst now are the days you miss the most . Especially if a loved one used to watch these.

Wow, that's crazy I just saw your comment. You know that theme to the" Young and restless" and "days of our lives ". Blu has this song that she did that I think sampled those two opening themes

The Rings of Power trailer brought me here.
I join in with a lot of you commenting. One of the most memorable things from my childhood was this theme song. Spending my summers at my grandparents house while my mom worked, I heard this theme every day without fail. In fact, I actually grew to LOVE the theme, and would come running into the TV room at the same time everyday to hear it.
Wow the new Rings of Power opening looks better than I thought
My mom used to watch this show when I was just 6 and I always heard this theme play, I'm 18 years old now and I lost my mom in 2020. I miss watching this show with her. Love you Mom 😔❤️.
Crying cause I’m about to be 19.. the bold and the beautiful & the young and the restless.. it just takes me back cause my nana would straight up make me shut my trap for her to watch these shows and I just can’t express enough those memories, and the intro song.. it just takes me back to childhood. I miss it

This brings back a lot of memories I remember a point in my life where I’d stay at my grandparents house while my 2 other brothers and my 1 sister went to school, my grandma would always watch this on the tv as a kid I thought it was boring but not that I’m older hearing the intro brings back memories, sometimes I wish I could go back to that time period

My late grandmother from Columbus Georgia would always be watching the CBS daytime dramas : Young and the Restless Bold and the beautiful As the world turns Guiding light
My mom used to watch this!! This and guiding light and as the world turns
The rings of power
Nostalgia hitting me like a train😭 man where did the time go
I just asked my husband how old we were in '96 when we were watching this. He replied 'We were young and restless'! 🤣
theme song to the Rings of Power =) --Nerdrotic
I’ve never once watched this show but my grandmother would all the time. When I hear this song I think of her, may she rest in heaven.
This was my grandmas show, always had this on when I was around her when I was 5-6 and never really paid attention to it as it was always background noise and eventually forgot about this show till I heard the theme randomly somewhere as a 22 year old now and suddenly got kicked in the face by nostalgia and memories, and now I’m here searching it up in the middle of the night on a nostalgia trip
YOOO!!! rings of power is looking good!!
During the summer of 1996 I was 16 and my neighbor noticed me that year. She was married with a small child, but was only 26. This show was always on in the background when we would churn butter. The high school girls loved everything you showed me. RIP Sherri.

Aww the memories! This was my grandpa's favourite show!
my grandma’s favorite show of all times
Why did this make me really sad 😔 Instantly I was back in my parent's living room home from school ..
Need to sue rings of power for plagiarism
Can’t believe they air new episodes every single day
So nostalgic, I was so young the last time i heard this
When we heard this in 1998 Blue Clues had just went off & it was my moms time The sound of this intro just signifies the fact that I wasn’t even gonna try and fight my sleep
So young n the restless was just apart of all of our childhoods somehow😂
I thought its rings of power
I remember hearing this play in my grandmas bedroom every time id come home from school. Those were the best times...
Amazon stole this for their new Lord of the Rings series, lmao
Goddamnit I miss my grandma.
My childhood memories.
gives me nostalgia hearing this..used to sit and watch with my grandma every day after school…good days
Omfg laughing my ass off at the Rings of Power comments. This shit is hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀

I remember my my mom always watching this😭😭
I miss my grandma so much she always watched this 😢
That's the one I remember... my mom was watching all through my childhood
Over 11.000 episodes. The longest running anime of all time.
Beautiful and iconic song.
I remember the days I would watch this with my great grandmother when I was a baby. This song is forever ingrained in my memory. Good times
Reminds me of grandma when i'd get sick, stay home from school, and would make me lay on the couch. Not allowed to move, she would sit in her recliner and watch this show! Miss her everyday ❤️
The days of staying home sick while my grandmother watched me and this was playing on the tv seem like a lifetime ago. Miss you so much nana…
The music is simply beautiful.😊
The Rings of Power Intro
I still watch "Y&R" every day but this is even more great now that J. Eddie Peck's back as Cole. Almost everyone in this vid is either still there or back on the soap. Just a different Victoria and sadly Paul left, but everyone else is still the same actors.
I remember that like yesterday!!!!!!! From 🇷🇴
I saw it first time in Canada so many years I cry
I remember and miss this Intro😢
At this time, all the storylines were so good. My mom “accidentally” missed my 8th grade crossing to watch the Sheila/Lauren stuff.
Here in Finland it was called "Tunteita ja tuoksuja", which means "Feelings and fragrances". Grandma's favorite...
Oh man, Passions, All my Children, Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless.
I used to love this show
definitely brings back childhood memories
I remember my mom watching this when I was a school kid 😂
I remember this intro from my childhood, my grandmother used to watch this show
Yea yea yea, my mom watched this show every day and I had no idea what it was. However, even as a child I knew this song was lit.
Those were the days 😢😢😢😊😊😊😢😢😢, sad and many great 👍 👌 😢 memories .......
I remember coming home from school and this would be on lol 😂 my mom loved to watch it but would always let me change the channel when I got home.

this song brings back memories. y&r was my moms fav show growing up. every time i was home sick from school i’d be laying on the couch and i remember this playing in the background
Omg I remembered this intro of the young and the restless back in the 90's whether I was sick or off holiday school even better than what it was these days.
As my oldest sat in her baby swing sucking her bottle my self had a roast beef poboy & barq root beer from day one watching the Brooks familyThen came Jill destroying her mother along with her family, I'm still watching till today & enjoying every hour I spend wTching.thank you for staying on though the years God bless all who work & enjoy our stories
wow... cant believe how common this story is. As a kid, I would hear this come on and my grandparents would watch it religiously, have their little comments about whats happening, drink tea, and this song would come on and I thought it was crazy for anyone to watch but I would love to go back and just hang out with them on the couch again.
born in 2005 and this is nostalgic to me 😭
This song meant nap time for us 80’s and 90’s babies
Whenever I was sick and stayed home instead of school
Guys I heard this song in the seventies! 1974 was my first time! My grandmother was a faithful watcher! Good memories!
I never watched this, but this is nostalgic because my mom would have this on anytime I was sick from school.
