Lou Ferrigno doesn't get enough credit for his acting. He has to convey so much with ever saying a word. The anger, confusion, love , sadness, and helplessness he conveyed is a masterclass in acting

Such a memorable and tragic scene. As an 8 year old, I thought the Hulk was going to save Elaina and everyone would be OK. Also - The Southwest Lab would fail an OSHA inspection today. What kind of chemicals were they storing in that closet that would incinerate the entire building?

I heard when Bill Bixby was first approached by Kenneth Johnson of the show, he told him he didn't want to do it. He told Bill he wasn't going to write it cartoonish or anything like that. He told him to take a script home and read it. The rest is history. I like how Bill was able to make the show interesting and draw the viewers in. I can remember vividly sitting in my grandparents living room watching this back then. I remember actually feeling sorry for David Banner because of Bill Bixby's awesome acting. Always thought it was cool how they ended most episodes with him walking down the side of the road, being a drifter and having to stay ahead of the crazy Mr. Mcgee.

Agreed! The makeup for the first two episodes was very effective…and probably either too expensive or too time consuming to apply. By the end of the series, the Hulk looked far less scary.

They make the CGI Hulk superhuman he's even bulletproof. the TV Hulk is more human like he just has a lot of strength

This show was a masterpiece. The series finale was a cliffhanger and the t.v. movie that ended this series (while not bad) didn't get the opportunity to come full circle to Elaina Marks death or McGee's relentless chasing Banner. I'm grateful The Death of The Incredible Hulk ended Bixby's tenure of Banner before he passed away but there was still an ending that would have made it all feel more worth it like clearing his name and McGee finding out who is creature was.

Such a brilliant TV show, Bill bixby and Lou ferrigno had an amazing friendship, and were both great actors. Kenneth Johnson the writer was a genius and just an amazing guy. Thanks for the video. Did you know?, the hulk was going to be Richard Kiel, but lacked the bulk muscle ferrigno had, he done some test footage, then went on to play Jaws in The Spy who loved me. Arnold Schwarzenegger was looked at too, but was not as muscular as ferrigno. For the 3 special movies After the 5 series Ferrigno got bigger and put on an extra 16 pounds of muscle, he weighed in now at over 300 pounds of pure muscle. Ferrigno played cameo roles then of himself in the newer hulk films.

The first time I’ve seen this I was scared but now I can see the pain as Hulk knows what death means.

I just realized that this is the only interaction Banner and McGee have face-to-face EVER.

I loved this show growing up. Being a child in the 70s was such a great time to be young. Why did we let everything get so messed up?

This show had heart. Dr. Banner was truly one of the kindest role models on TV at that time, and showed us that an affliction can sometimes be used for good…sometimes.

-Us demanding Marvel Studios to bring back Savage Hulk before Avengers Secret Wars: Fans: "Marvel Studios, Don't make us angry. You wouldn't like us when we're angry."

This is so much better than all this CGI donkey shit they have these days....

In the Death of the Incredible Hulk movie, the "death" of the Hulk I thought would be that David had finally found a cure and return to normal. The ending of the movie took me by surprise.

"you wouldn't like him when he's angry" but I have loved HIM getting angry since I was 7 years old

Classic.

When the Hulk tried holding Elaina s hand after she died, the tears and roar from the pain he felt knowing she died was great acting by both of them.

The late 70's, early 80's weren't your so-called "woke" times on television? Multiverse indeed.

I'm remember this first episode so vividly. It aired on Friday nights. Perfect for the start of a weekend and no school the next day. It really scared me. This show will forever be iconic. And that line is the most iconic in tv history.

1:25 What led to believe that the Hulk murdered both David and Helena. Of course it was the explosion that killed Helena and David tried to save her as his alter ego, making believe it was the Hulk that killed her. And from there on David had to avoid Jack McGee who pursued the Hulk.

Magee is the one who started this mess. If he wasn’t so nosy, that accident wouldn’t have killed Banner’s wife. And Banner wouldn’t have to be on the run, he could’ve just continued working with her to find a cure and hopefully at least keep some level of normalcy. He should be charged with breaking and entering, and with the death of Banner’s wife. Banner would have a clean cut case against him tbh too, as much as I love the show I just never understood why he wouldn’t just take Magee to court, I mean isn’t this harassment too because he just doesn’t leave him alone?

There's a young, but very familiar Susan Sullivan, who played Dr. Banner's girlfriend. She went on to do more fame as Maggie on "Falcon Crest."

The MCU should get Lou Ferrerino to play a version of Joe Fixit aka Grey Hulk. If they changed the hair, kept the same prosthetics, but painted him grey and put him in the suit his look would work on more of a grounded level.

Jack: We'll, forgive me, doctor, I'm calling you a liar... David: Be quiet, McGee! (pauses) Now you listen, Mr. McGee, don't get me angry. You won't like me when I get angry! (in a faint distance, Elaina Marks screams) Elaina Marks: David! (Sulphuric acid makes contact with fertiliser and lab explodes)

Women always keep dying on David in this series. His first wife, then Elaina, and then his second wife, Carolyn.

its the first time i see the hulk become SAD and show such emotion to the person he helped , one can clearly see and understand that the hulk was the inner anger coming out from david banner , that in this scene david was there and saw his wife die , the hulk showed feelings or david .

"Married" and "Prometheus" are the only episodes that topped the pilot, imho.

Kenneth Johnson spent a lot of time writing for The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, which eventually led to The Incredible Hulk.

i was a true hulk fan when a i was a kid child , i use to play the hulk with a friend of mine , we became the hulk in different orders when we played , first i played hulk then my friend was the hulk , it was HUGE back in the day . then in the days and we are now , the incredible hulk has been overdone i think , not very well done after the original with loui ferrigno who played the hulk . but many thanks for this upload of the serie show .

It's because the footage here comes from the two part syndicated version of the pilot. It has some strange edits like this. My favorite being the Charlies Napier growls in the episode trailer, and the scene where David has flashbacks of his first transformation while talking to Elania at her house.
