Funny he says that. The car is listed at a ridiculous price, and is currently listed at auction with several disclosed error codes, albeit generic codes from the auction meaning it probably has dozens of BMW specific error codes stored. It also has many other issues documented that he doesn't even mention in the video. This is reference from the auction inspection report on that car: Emissions P013E O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 -- Pressure Too Low in High-Pressure System (Bank 1) Emissions P142E Cylinder Injection Cut-Off Emissions P2297 O2 Sensor Out of Range During Deceleration Bank 1 Sensor 1 Emissions P2419 EVAP System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low This car is far from fixed. I'm not sure why he is pretending everything was good after he cleared the codes? He didn't even mention that the car basically failed inspection and will not be covered for return to the auction for any of the above listed issues. This car may as well be as-is at the auction.

Even on the earlier N52, changing the Vanos solenoids was pretty normal. Owners who failed to keep up with their oil changes would definitely have vanos related issues because the passages are small and prone to clogging. Later on BMW added screens to the oil feed and even simplified the oil control circuit only for that to lead to new issues😂

Alex while I watched you remove the "M" off of that horrible BMW purchase I was thinking of a hack that I've seen guys do before. You take dental floss & heat it up like you did and then just run dental floss behind it. That pulls the glue, the "M" or whatever else you want removed. Pulls everything off and doesn't damage the paint. Just thought I'd share that with you.

As a dealer, I have gone through arbitration a few times. Usually the car is being auction off greenlight… which of course means it’s good to go and then when I go to pick it up, there’s an issue and I usually try to handle it before I even leave the lot. A lot of times the Auction house will not even take it back if you leave the lot with it so it’s important to check it out thoroughly do as much as you can on the auctions property. That way you can just hand them the keys and say NOPE

I have been in the car/RV business for 30 years, and what I have found it that some dealerships are a little confused about what info they can divulge. What they can not share is past customers personal info. But nothing should stop them what repairs have been done. So for some reason a few dealerships have a misunderstanding and the can share what was done just not who owned it.

After the car was off for a while the oil would slowly drain out of it I guess and be fine again. Cleaned it out much like you did, and it was great for 3 or 4 days but then back to the same problems again. Replaced it with a new one and the issue never came back. After I did the service it never put a foot wrong. The best solution for these X6s is honestly N55 or N54 swapping them. Those are much more manageable and if you want a little extra power you can do bolt-ons and make more then the V8s. It's alot less expensive then fixing at this point. It would be cool to see someone do that.

Hey Alex - great video and keep up the great work. For you and anyone else interested, our BMW master tech pal says the same thing - do not buy a used BMW. The only, and he means "only" models that might be worth considering are 1999 - 2001 740i with 6 cyl engines - no v8's. Problem is those cars usually have 200-300 kms or miles on them - so the lower mileage options will be few and far between. Otherwise new BMW with full factory warranty is the only way to go.

Wet sand until the complete lens is foggy/hazed, and then start to wetsand with 1000 and 2000 before going to compound. Then Polish as you did, and -most recommended- 2k clear coat. This will last longer than any ceramic coating, even though it will last some time. None the less, the transformation before and after is way better; if that was the goal. Can also recommend a smaller pad when working with rotary, and especially DA. Good work on the BMW!
