I own a RP4 Pro and have been absolutely blown away by it's performance, can't recommend it highly enough. Having a pocket Wii/GC/PS2 has been a dream of mine for years.

The solid gamecube and PS2 emulation is a great sell alone, wasn't expecting Vita and switch to be as good as shown. It's an amazing piece of kit!

I mention for PS2 there are some games with lower performance but overall its very good. For the sub optimal frames rates, lower the rendering resolution and it should be fine.

I will double check on Monday for USB C. But, if your monitor has USB input like our portable monitors you should be able to use a USB C to C cable droix.net/product-category/portable-monitors/. If you are using HDMI then our docks and hubs such as droix.net/product/droix-nt8-clear-usb-hub/ should work fine. I will check them on Monday though

We tried it with our range of hubs and docks and they all work fine with USB-C from the RP4 PRO to the hub/dock then HDMI output to monitor (though you can just use the HDMI port), You can also charge your RP4 PRO through our hubs and docks. And our DroiX USB 4 Type-C cables droix.net/product/usbc-4-cable/ work great with a direct USB-C to C connection to a portable monitor for example.

Thanks for this video! I’ve been doing a lot of research for a new Handhelp to replace my PS Vita. I’ve been mainly focusing on the Retroid pocket 4 and Odin 2. You’re one of the first videos I’ve seen that actually compares benchmarks between the different Android handhelds! Before this video, I assumed that the pocket 4+ and the Odin Pro were at the same level. But after watching, I’ve narrowed my options down to Odin 2 and Pocket 4+. I know the Odin 2 is better, I’m just trying to justify the price 🤣

The Odin 2 is awesome, so much power. The RP4 Pro is pretty good for Vita, with some games you can increase the rendering resolution. The Odin 2 can go the extra mile though and have higher resolutions in more games. Both are definitely worth considering for Vita, depends on your budget though.

this thing needs ALOT of set ups but also has a lot of access to a lot of games i cannot wait to get mines

The quickest way is to use the Retroid Launcher. You can add your game collection to it and be up and running fairly fast.

I bought one a day ago. I hope it gets here this week... What I like about it besides the capabilities is the size. Seems like it would easily fit in a pocket. My first console was the XX H by ambernic. I didn't like it at all except for the size. It felt underpowered (could be how I'm a noob). I like and dislike that this is android. I feel like android will be easier to navigate but I just don't trust this OS. I feel like it's been so buggy in the past as a phone. Either way, I'm excited to get this!

You will definitely feel the difference in performance compared to the lower end Anbernic handhelds. Android OS has it issues but overall they are pretty good on these handhelds. I've been using the RP4 Pro for a couple of weeks now and not run into anything major.

Thank you! I was in a dilemma bewteen the Retroid 4 Pocket pro and the ayn Odin 2 Pro. I will choose the Odin 2 Pro. Its 150 dollars more but the performance of the Odin 2 Pro is so much better. Size wise for me its a no brainer. Odin pro 2 is still a more pocket size than a steamdeck, Ps VIta or logitech g cloud . they are all so bulky.

We use multiple couriers depending on the location and what time the order is processed. We can use Royal Mail, DHL, FedEx, UPS.

I found the bios when I download the BIOS but now when I try to play it it says. Tip ROM cannot be found. I have the Rom. What does that mean

I think you meant 8cm and 3 in. in the measurement and not the other way around.

@@zstormreviews Every country has different customs fees. Yes, USA has a higher threshold for paying customs fees., iirc its around $800. For UK and Europe you pay on anything over a far lower number., £100 or so You also get the warranty with DroiX, if anything goes wrong then we deal with it. We are not lying, everything is on the website for you to see.

I picked up the retro pocket for Pro for some total of 215. With shipping on pre-order day.! if I order from you guys it be almost $300 bucks. so what kind of idiot would I have to be to give you more money for the same product? On top of that you didn’t even pay for return label and I had to pay an extra $60 for shipping from DHL. So no, you guys are not customer friendly.

What was the reason why you returned the order? If it was change of mind for example then we do not pay return postage. If there is a fault then depending on the location you return it to one of our local return hubs. I can't provide any specific information on why you had to pay $60 for it to be returned as I do not know the order history, reason for return etc.

You also won't believe how bad the battery life is lol this thing should've came with charge separation!

The battery life if not that bad, you get aorund three hours play at very high load. In most cases you will be using less power and get longer battery life. Keep in mind the Windows handhelds, you are lucky to get 90 minutes battery life on full load :)

Screen is too small. They should have made it larger than the rp3+. It is not as powerful as the ayn odin pro 2. Bit of a pointless release by retroid in my opinion. Battery is same size as rp3+ it just hasn't developed enough from previous model.

I do not think it is a pointless model. AYN Odin 2 and AYA NEO Pocket Air both cost twice as much as the Retroid Pocket 4 PRO. The AYANEO is at most 10% faster in performance for twice the price of the RP4 PRO. The RP4 PRO is not the fastest Android handheld but at half the price of the AYN Odin 2, I think it represents excellent price vs performance.

The benchmark comparisons are the top models. The pro vs the max. These are total system benchmarks too, not just the processor. The max has double the ram of the pro. The max is also almost 500 dollars................

Agree the screen is super tiny by today's standards, rocking iPhone 6 screen... BUT disagree, it's not pointless, odin 2 pro is very powerful but it's not as strong as the strongest gaming desktop 🤔 why do you think different price points exists? 🤦🏼‍♂️

Looking back on this comment a month later, the odin 2 max and the pocket 4 pro are not in the same bracket. They are both Android but the pocket 4 is a budget device and the odin 2 is a mid to upper tier premium device. They are not direct competitors for the same consumer. If you are deciding what to buy and the pocket 4 and odin 2 max are your choices, you are misinformed and riding the trend wagon. Not a serious consumer of retro content.

This is a very selective review Yes the RP4 pro emulates PS2 well but showcasing one or two games is disingenuous. While performance is respectable there are still PS2 games that will NOT run at full speed. I don’t think this should put you off the device, I think the PS2 emulation at this price point is unrivalled. However… the vita3k demonstration in this video is overstating its capability and the same for yuzu. RP4 pro is a superb device, but don’t let this video set fault expectations.

We mention this during the PS2 part that OutRun Coast to Coast (footage shown a bit later in the video) dropped down to as low as 40FPS but can be fixed by lowering the rendering resolution. The same for Yuzu, lower demanding games worked great as we showed in the video. Again, we do mention that PoP did have frame drops but did not spoil the gameplay too much. And for first party games theres not much luck getting anything playable. We cant show every game, especially first party titles for obvious reasons. But we do mention not every game is full speed for PS2 and Yuzu, and also show footage of games running slow.
