The ticket win is so random sometime. A do335 managed to bleed enough ticket before any other player managed to do anything. It's was completely ridiculous, you had this guy a 3000 score and every other player at 0 and the game ended in 3minutes

@@frostycalls5680 they are very good Fighter Cas for ground RB, especially in the mid tier. I used them a lot there. Apart from that, its not in my list of favourite air rb planes. i just flew some of them in air rb to spade, cause in ground battles the xp gain for air units is so low compared to air rb. But i completely skipped the f4u1c, because no bomb load. but i guess with 4 anm2 you dont need bombs^^

I remember about 11 years ago now, when my brother told me that there's a new WW2 era, online, plane game called Warthunder; just went to open-BETA, we should try it (I played a lot of Sturmovik back than). I asked: " Can i control a heavy bomber?" he said: "Yes; it even has the B-17 on tier 7." (the game use to have tiers 1-10 not BR, like WoWP ot WoT), So I crated my 1st account, an picked Japan as my 1st nation, do the H6K was the lowest tier heavy, and playing bombers was a blast back than; the planes were sturdy and the gunners weren't blind. You actually needed a heavy-fighter or something well armed to effectively take down a bomber. That's why the G8N got the nickname "Death Star" do to back than going near to one was suicide.

The AA in the middle of the map feels like it got a massive buff about 6 months ago I remember never really even worrying about the AA, as I knew “those things never hit anything” I was happy with how well the AA worked on the Landing Strips, you could get within 2km without instantly dying, so if someone was camping their spawn, you can just shoot them and get out They had to stay extremely close to camp Then gaijin gave the AI of the bases to the mid map AA and buffed the base AA Now if you are 6km it seems I get hit chasing people back to their base And the mid map AA has killed me more often in the past 4 months, then enemy aircraft have And that’s not an exaggeration Yesterday, I was killed 7 times Out of those 7, 1 time was a teammate (memes) 4 times was AA, and the last 2 was actual players It’s stupid I also see a lot of other people through the game get killed the same way It’s not fun if I can’t dog fight people because I, or they, all die because of mid map AA It’s so dumb

Yeah I just started getting into air rb recently so I started playing with all the nations i hadn't touched yet and mid field aa is so ridiculous, it literally ruins the game because you cant even dogfight, and in really slow planes like biplanes you're so slow you get instantly disintegrated anytime you go anywhere near there side of the map.

@@leeham6230 As Defyn has brought out in the past, it really feels like Gaijin wants everyone to move to Ground RB to fight, making the A10 and SU27 out specifically for ground BR's it seems

I think autobleed should still be a thing, but make it apply to any team that doesn't have an aircraft in the active battle area. That way camping the airfield or space climbing isn't an option.

I remember when realistic matches had a max time limit of 1Hr, now its 25min.

my friend, this plane even has a good curve, I got into a dog from F4 against a guy using this plane, we got into a crazy "scissors" dog I only won because I started using the landing flabs

​@@_lliu3oqppehu9l_83 Well, FN is around 15-30 kph faster at 0-1.5k than F4 and climbs 3-4m/s faster at this alt. On hot maps FN has bigger advantage, on cold ones, lower. But I agree, F4 is still much better.

ah yes one of my favourite planes to fly - love all the cobra's. Though the banana plane is laughable being at the same br as the other king cobras, its just so great.

Yeah, the A-10 and C-5 both used to be foldered with the A-5. Though the A-5 used to be 3.7, not 3.3.

This plane is surprisingly fast at low altitude. Not to be underestimated.

Your complaint regarding tickets is very much valid. To balance attackers better you'd need a way in which attackers require staying alive for a good part of the match while also not making that impossible for said attacker. So how do we increase the survivability on attackers enough without breaking game balance? Simple spread out the ground targets a lot more. Your average player often only attacks attackers they can see, while a smart player looks on the map which targets have been taken out and deduces where that attacker is now from that. The game already offers ground targets like these on the old Krymsk and old Berlin maps. I believe MagzTV has a very old video on the Tempest Mk V (Vickers P). It's a video I've always kept in the back of my mind when playing attackers in Warthunder since those long matches in attackers used to be extremely rewarding both mentally as well in SL and RP.

Ik stupid design

The mid map aa rant hits home. Whenever it is just me an one other guy in a dogfight for the win if they get smacked by the aa and it practically hands me the win i tell them to fly home and repair. We both go back and repair then try again.

I had a choice between this and the P-47D-27, and man are you making me regret choosing the "Jug". Oh well, great content as always. If anyone has any tips that aren't "don't turn", it would be appreciated.

You play it like any other p-47. Sideclimb, make sure you always have an energy advantage, and just boom and zoom. Try to keep to shorter dives so you conserve energy, don't overcommit if the plane you're diving on dodges. If all else fails it's pretty fast for it's br, can outdive pretty much anything

Yes! I love this airplane, especially the A-10 variant. It's got crazy climbrate, really strong big cannon without the typical inaccuracy or overheating issues, and is lightning fast in a straight line, with workable maneuverability. This plane is criminally underrated and is my fav french and american tree plane.

Above 270mph it has a good turn rate. At low speeds it has a poor turn rate.

kinda wish that air rb didn’t have name tags like that i could actually sneak up on people but then on the other hand you wouldn’t ba able to spot anybody or find the guy that is flying in space with his bomber.

Ground pounder here… I meme. Straight up. I’ll bring enough to break even on ground targets then immediately dogfight, fly upside down using tail gunners manually, hell I’ll even take a heavy fighter out and chase down other attackers. Idc. It’s simply the most fun and SL profit I can get from this game since they did away with 60 minute matches.

Tickets take away from fun I’d rather fight a 1 v 7 knowing I’m gonna loose than get cut off from tickets

Defyn, would it be possible to cover your keybindings? When I watch your vids I see very fluent well done camera operation -> looking around for enemies in dogfight. I try to do the same but barely can do it in even 50% as good as you.

There is a video where he flies the F-86 Sabre in a free fly where he shows how he uses the keybinds and mouse, but I agree it would be nice to see it in action in some matches.

Not gonna lie here, I love the Soviet premium P-63 as opposed to the US one, and that's because of the teams. Most of the time, the Soviets are matched up against the US, and US teams ground pound a lot, so its incredibly easy to boom and zoom each one incredibly easily.

I really like the P-63 series. Great in ground RB since it can carry 2 bomb drops and the altitudes and speeds you’d be playing at really favor it. Wish the browning had a bit more ammo though.

God I love cobras. For me rank 4 of usa tree feels so empty because there are no cobras. I don’t like any plane from usa rank 4 especially mustangs. Trying to make it to rank 5 flying p63 c-5. Thanks for the video, it’s great!

A-5 is the most agile (less armoured) A-10 is the fastest/better acceleration (slightly armoured - better WEP) C-5 - between with I think a little bit more armour. Also A-5 has a single 500 lbs bomb And A-10 and C-5 have 3x500 lbs bombs (2 drops. One bomb per wing - they drop together and 1 bomb in the middle dropped separately)

Sorry dude, I think there's a good reason you're struggling to find videos on this thing. Personally, I find this variant of the Beaufighter is the worst. Yes, it has good armourment, but that's irrelevant when you can play the 3.0 variants that have similar flight performance at a lower BR. Also, you are at the same BR as the Mosquito, which is just a better plane imo. The first Beaufighters are alright* when you use MEC, but this thing is a worse performer with the higher BR, regardless of the .50 cal bite.

I got Gaijin to change some air RB maps when they were willing to try some changes to air RB. Maps with respawning bomber bases, attackers to shoot down that didn't have them before and all ground targets but AA counting to tickets all came from my suggestion offered in that thread. They didn't take all of my suggestions but they took a few of them at least. Point is it isn't so much that Gaijin isn't willing to change things. It is that the player base is so busy trying to shit on each other for whatever reason (bomber/attacker v fighter players, players being deliberate dicks to other players for whatever reason, players holding onto bs opinions and beliefs about the game like thinking there is x bias, et cetera) that they aren't willing to actually work together to come to any consensus or work to a common goal. Gaijin is willing to make changes however two things must happen for Gaijin to make changes. 1. A focused effort from the player base. 2. Suggested changes within the limits that Gaijin want each game mode to operate within. Shit isn't hard. Player base makes it hard because egos and stupidity. In the mean time Gaijin is happy to shit on the player base while milking the player base for all it can financially.

@@briannormant3622 Those polls are being offered the way they are because Gaijin thinks the player base is too broken to actually work together intelligently. The player base has shown Gaijin to be right via the results of those polls. When pressured by the player base they have done more than that. Granted that it hasn't happened that often historically but every time it has happened Gaijin has basically said "What do you want" and at least went with some of what they could implement to improve the given situation. Hence me saying what I did.

But the whole point of a poll it's to had a objective view of the opinion. The only times i remember gaijoob asking us something were the two survey of the economy. And there are quite a lot of things the player base is agreeing on: br décompression, op premium, different planes br for ground and air. Edit: I forgot to mention gaijin adding mechanics no one asked for: middle map aa.

@@briannormant3622 If the player base was capable of working intelligently then why did the majority not vote for the don't change things option that was presented in the rewards change vote instead of voting on the decreasing option that it did vote on? There were a few YT channels that went over what the best option was and even posts in the forums and on reddit and yet a majority still voted. There is general agreement on a number of things but there is little to no organization to try to do anything about it. Agreeing in general means nothing if you don't actually care to support an effort to get things changed. Also mid map AAA has been a thing for years. It getting buffed now is puzzling to everyone though. Finally, yes there is infighting and yes it is natural but studies have shown that the degree of toxicity shown by gamers is way beyond anything that would be considered normal. That was my point.

i remember that i dived down on 2 mirages and 1 phantom dogfight a teammate of mine below , believe me or not one single GEPARD in the middle of the map KILLED ALL 3 OF THEM and missiles were inair by the time gepard got them

P63s are my favorite. I like to say it's basically a P51 at a lower BR just because of its guns... but if you get used to the 37mm, you will get just as many kills easily.

@@Flayrr872 yes. It has a bit of spray and a lot slower than 50cal and drop quicker than 50cal. So this makes it a bit finicky to use against far distanced target and fast moving targets.

You wouldn't like the mig15/bis then, same problem but at 1000kmhr. You just have to find a way to like it, once you get your eye in, it's extremely satisfying to use. The p63 shouldn't take you too long to find the sweet spot.

@@superfly29rr16 To be completely fair in air RB you usually either die before being able to use all your ammo, or you get damaged/spend it on 2 kills and have to RTB. There aren't many planes that use something bigger than 20mms that actually can brag about having enough ammo for the entire battle.

Try the ki-100, it has insane low speed thrust, it can basically do it's max climb rate below 200km/h.

I have flown this plane 4 times. I have been shot down 4 times. 3 of those times, I was pilot sniped. I refuse to play this plane. Totally agree about the whole Tickets situation. Tickets need to be reworked

This thing is extremely agile at high speed but loses a lot of energy in the turn. The thing is like a mini, low tier mirage. It's absolutely awesome at high speed baits and low yo-yos. You fly this thing properly and you essentially win every scissor without even having to cut throttle.

I recently played biplane rank 1 and ai destroyed like half pf the fighters from each team, and damaged rest of them. Really bad experience.

Could you do a video explaining how the points and tickets work in a bit more detail? Like what is ticket drain? Or basic overview of how points and sl are accrued. I've found some stuff here and there about it but it doesn't really explain it for me. Why do some matches seem like they're giving more points for bombing than shooting down enemies but then vice versa? How many points do you get for destroying the different types of bots on the map? Etc

nobody knows, Gaijin treats every part of this game as if it's some excellently coded masterpiece that needs to be kept secret. They adjust these things constantly to try to find just the right balance of suffering to fun to get people addicted and then force them to become fed up with suffering and spend spend spend

They just need to add a game mode where it's only fighters, and make it last an hour. THAT would be fun.

@@leeham6230 I literally fly arb to grind out planes i wish to fly in custom battles, air arcade is pure cancer, and fuk tanks, that's not why i picked up this game 6 years ago when there wasn't any tanks to begin with. I slowly watched this game devolve from the being the best free game I ever played, to a game i wish i never played due to how it is now. And that's what gets me. It's so bad right now that it even spoils the fun I used to have. Don;t get me wrong. Top tier also had its issues back then, but NEVER did I have a moment where i smacked the fucking desk out of pure frustration because some fucking UFO from the 1980s shot down my 1950 warbird with missiles. cough cough f9f-8 with AIM 9B flies against german ww2 jets cough cough. I really do miss this game the way it was before supersonics came in. I really do. And I don't see it getting "balanced" within the next couple of years. God I miss my f86 vs mig 15 battles. You know, back when you had to load 20m fuel for top tier cuz the mid game only started at minute 7 when the first planes do RTB. Now the post game is at minute 2. Team battles don't exist anymore either, you just shoot at something that looks like it's not paying attention, whether or not that's on a teammate's 6 dsnt matter. Fuck the match, it's just about the stats.

And cringe when people do shit like taking a advantageous position and turning it into a 50/50 head on, or going after a burning bomber cuz "i have to get more kills cuz that = gitting good". Arcade is fun to a degree that it's something you can just pop into and there's no real punishment for losing 10 aircraft in one game. ARB used to be way more strategic than it is now, you worked 10min for a position to get a firing solution, most games you had maybe, MAYBE 2 kills. Guns jammed, aaa was horridly inaccurate, proximity shells actually did dmg, any fire was death, i can go on and on and on. Point is it wasn't easy or quick, but when you got that red indication of "AIRCRAFT DESTROYED" OMG, you were god at that moment. I remember vividly how this change in mindset happened when they introduced tanks, worsened when they gave rank 5 premiums, and when to shit right after the f104/mig19 patch (that was still some decent top tier). Felt like a massive horde of people who play ace combat and COD saw the game and rushed in. You could feel this all the way down to rank1. It was like over night noone knew what a one circle engagement was, and you physically couldn't communicate BFM with other people cuz they din't understand wtf ur saying, or din't even read chat at all. My big big point here, all of the OG players I know, also feel this way, or already left and tells me not to talk about this game with them anymore. Literally every single one of us. If you want to have a discussion, let's go. But if you're just going to be another person carrying the toxic in game chat to youtube, telling me to "git gud" then please leave that to yourself. And if ur gonna have a problem with me writing an "essay" now, then please remind yourself that you literally asked me to elaborate my position. I'm not saying, nor did I once reference that other's shouldn't enjoy current top tier or arcade or whatnot. I said I miss it, and only reason it doesn't exist anymore is $$$$$ Heck, up until 2017 premium aircraft was basically just something from the tech tree +rp boost, or something from another tech tree, captured aircraft and such. Having a premium account or lots of GE could almost not give you an edge in game apart from giving you quicker access to more content. Do I like certain stuff now more than then....Honestly. Not much. I still find myself playing aircraft that's been in the game since I picked it up. I basically only play the first 5 trees, and never touched the other stuff beyond the first 2 ranks you can unlock in like no time these days. There are more maps, that's nice. But fuck EC maps, that was a lazy decision noone asked for. People DID ask for ARB EC, as a completely separate game mode with multi spawns. P.S. also no. griffon spits are pure trash even compared to Mk IXs. If you can't happily camp on a griffon's head as a jet, u don't know how to jet. This is kinda exactly my point. Jets have 99% of the advantage, yet they put themselves into positions where they can get ganked.

Amen on the tickets and time before ending the batt. Has to do with the casual problem, people don't play to win matches, they play for kills to grind in their minds. They go as far as 8 people stacking up shooting over, and a lot of the time, shooting each other. Meanwhile its a bomber like 2kft off the ground. I wish there was another category of matches other than the standard RB/AB/sim set up.

That snipe on Spitfire by the base AA was complete bullshit. I've in that guy's place once. I was on the premium Whirlwind and my opponent on the P-51D-10, it was already a tough fight and AA made it completely impossible. I was quite unhappy about it, thx Gaijin.

La-5 is a very flawed airframe with a really powerful engine. Work within its strengths and it is capable but it is really easy to pull out its weaknesses. It is fine for the BR. La-7 takes that powerful engine and puts it in a good airframe with only a few weaknesses.

@@rainsilent long ago, pre-1.77 update was the last I played it (the La-5FN particularly) is why I'm so curious lol. back then it was monstrously good for me, but it makes sense that it's been toned down a bit nowadays lol it did feel a bit unrealistic almost

@@blessthismessss The 5FN hasn't actually been toned down. Still powerful engine with fairly good climb rate and good level flight speed but ~350mph lockup means you can't really dive to engage or escape. Just a number of the planes that should be higher in BR have been shuffled in the past year. In similar position as P-40F. Capable performer for what should be at the BR but gets overshadowed by under BRed monsters. Edit: Still highly prefer Yaks though.

id like an almost enduring confrontation style thing perpetual gameplay like arma mods have where the game is always going regardless if you are in it or not it would allows actual use of attackers and heavy bombers make it more AI focused make ai planes dangerous.

this games IL2 is actually way less tanky than IRL ones , germans stated that they just simply couldn't down an IL2 with out hitting engine and cooling system under it with a 20mm cannon or more....

There should be a new aquad type of mode where you have 2 to 4 bombers on every side 2 interceptors as well and than some fighters maybe chage a bit but basically a mode that pus players in a spot where actually using war tactics would be needed almost like sim but realistic mashup

There should be a mechanic where if you just took off from the AF or enter and then exit the AF area, there is a buffer zone around the AF that you aren't allowed to enter for like 1 minute. This eliminates AF camping and forces campers to fight. The other day I was fighting this p*ssy in a cannonstang who would always turn back to the AF and then jump back in when his team had a 2v1 advantage on me. I hate players like that because they eliminate the whole point of dogfighting and skill.

well, as you again are whining about the ticket bleed ive got an interesting story to tell, in ground rb once i had it actually that the enemies were having like 1.3 times as many tickets as our team, time was running out and we killed the last guy, he couldnt spawn back in, it says "there are no active players remaining in the enemy team and one second later the match ends and the enemies win on ticket advantage. and that right there is the worst example of winning on tickets even though in a real life battle the battle would have been lost

AI should never be the deciding factor in any match.

I think them changing maps to have ticket bleed linked to the ai planes was a good idea but it comes with a lot of downsides. Ticket bleed is faster if they have all ai planes up compared to before, AI planes are loud and clutter the compass and ruin your situational awareness, some ai planes are easier to kill other giving one team the advantage (bf 110 is easier to kill than the IL 2), some ai planes you can't easily catch in you plane like if you're in a sabre trying to kill ai Yak-38s, and maps are almost completely irrelevant since most of them have the exact same layout and foward airfields have been removed or moved on a lot of maps to the generic location right in front of the main AF.
