It's crazy I spent the first 20 years of my life in WV (Summersville) and never knew about this. Of course I also didn't know about mothman. Granted, I was born in 81 and moved out in 2001. During this time the internet wasn't much of a thing in a lot of areas of WV so news didn't spread like it does today. I did attend bridge day at New River Gorge as that was right next to my town. I do miss the area, though. Living in a city now makes you really appreciate the space you get in the country.

Ive lived in Appalachia my whole life and weren't so often portrayed SO negatively. All the harmful stereotypes and nrvative media portrayals. It brings a literal tear to my eye for people to see the area for more than that. I appreciate this so much

People meme on the 16 times the detail bit that Todd said, but he wasn't wrong. They put a ridiculous amount of work into transplanting the real world into the game, and people wouldn't even realise unless they saw these videos or experienced these cool places themselves. It really must mean a lot to the locals, too many places like these in the US get left behind and forgotten, sadly.

I think you def made an impact on this festival. Thier website is always sold out of merch!

I was surprised to see Seneca Rocks, and stand-ins for White Tail ski resort and Greenbank Telescope in game. I’d love to see Cass railroad and Blackwater Falls added at some point. Maybe as a DLC.

I think you did a really good thing. Yeah, Bethesda did all the work with the hand crafting but you promoted it.

I was obsessed with the Fallout series, it being my favorite game series ever. I had no idea they were laying out maps and re-creating real life locations as accurately as they were until recently, and i've been playing them for close to 10 years. Makes me love them even more. When I saw Helvetia I was blown away by the accuracy, and it makes me laugh. When I see that bluish-grey house on the corner all i can think about is playing Fallout and suddenly seeing your own house in the game decayed and full of Scorched lolol. That's crazy, I love it. I do think given the actual festival, size of the town and people involved, and the effect the game has had on their town thus far, Bethesda should add some NPCs to Helvetia. Maybe a nice little daily quest to clear out Scorched and retrieve an item from around town, in preparation for the festival. Gives a little Settler reputation and a Treasury note, maybe some Fasnacht decoration plans. Also as someone commented on one of your previous videos, would be great to see Bethesda add the actual poster they have in Helvetia with info to donate to the town's historical group. Great job on these videos and doing good things.

Fallout unintentionally helping small communities like Goodsprings and Helvetia's tourism is the most American and beautiful thing I've seen this year

People hate on Bethesda for a lot of things but at least they do their research ! This is so cool and definitely being added to my bucket list

Cool stuff. Minus the grind for glowing, I enjoyed the event. Buttt I participated so probably why, sometimes I marched, others I protested the bots. I knew it was real, but honestly did no research so cool vid.

I drove through West Virginia in and was amazed how accurate Bethesda's developers were. We went to Harpers Ferry and walked around and it felt like I was home. West Virginia is a Beautiful State.

They took the time to make the town look nice but not the time to make sure their event isnt broken. Also Biv E Ridge is still broken since skyline valley.

For us Swiss it‘s kinda funny to see how Americans see Switzerland and Fasnacht, and how the mispronounce the words like Fasnacht (Fasting Night) Hütte (Shack) and Helvetia. But it is nice to know that this town does exist in Reality.

I'm not sure that's really Fasnacht. I didn't see a single person spinning infinitely in any corner or behind any trees.

My only concern is people showing up to make it just another cosplay event. Their tradition is paper mache masks, join the event don't just make it every other cosplay that already exists.

I get rare but it’s ridiculous!! I have done around 15 events every day and haven’t gotten not 1 glowing mask not even an old one. Makes me not even wanting to play!!

I only did it about a dozen times. And got 3 glowing masks and the plan for the butter churn. It's just not my type of event. I'm not into winning masks and clothing. But I'm happy I got the plan I wanted.

Is it me or are the rare drop rates increased. Since it started I've mainly gotten common masks every time. The last 3 days (only doing the event 2 or 3 times before work), I've gotten 4 glowing masks with the same amount of runs. Is anyone else having increased luck this week?

Not really however it could also be that the event is ending soon so the spawn rates might be better up to the last minute. However, don't keep your hopes up too lol

I have no hopes nor exceptions from the rewards. I already got the auto butter churner so I've got what I wanted. Not a mask collector, just thought the RNG was better since it was almost ending or I was lucky a couple runs

4 years of doing this event no glowing and only time I got rare masks was this week. I really want the unicorn 🦄 as I am actually obsessed with them irl outside of the internet 🛜 but I am not too worried about it. I think it is possible that I get a glowy but not too hopeful about it being the one I want.
