Glad you figured it out. I don’t like the “never wheel alone” rule. There’s plenty of places where it doesn’t apply. But that trail would be one I’d want someone with me. However, I would have avoided that obstacle for sure in my Jeep. Look forward to seeing your next adventure.

Yeah that is one of those scenarios that I wish I had a friend with me or a rear mounted winch. It all worked out but I was fully prepared to camp on the trail 🤣

I've watched several other of your videos, all of them you are in the Gladiator. I enjoy seeing other Glads on trails. You do a good job weighing options and penalties (body damage, etc.). I have to be sensitive to those kinds of things as well, as my Glad is also my daily. I beat the tar out of it, I'm walking to work.

I daily mine as well but also enjoy testing its capabilities. I never sold my previous vehicle, my 2015 Jeep Wrangler, and I can daily that if need be. However, I’m a cautious wheeler and try to plot out my lines the best way possible.

Every time I wheel in the mud on this side of the country it makes me miss the trails out west.

Definitely had two spots that are very challenging! That second area with the rock is almost impassable without damage.

It’s funny because in video it doesn’t look like that hard of an obstacle. I attempted it and obviously made the right call.

Getting some decent tires would make a tremendous difference. A hybrid mt like trail grapplers or similar will prevent most of your slipping. Thus body damage. You should also practice using your winch to keep off rock walls.

I live in Michigan and a good snow tire is always at the top of my list. The Falken Wildpeak ATs may not be great in the mud but they are hands down the best snow tire I have ever used. I have a built JKU on 38” MTs that would have been better suited for this trail. I wanted to attempt the obstacle before having to rely on my winch. A rear winch would have been nice to have in that situation but I was able to make do with the front winch pulling my front end over enough to back out.

Love the new wrangler 👀 look wished they changed up the gladiator a little tho. It looks just like a Jeep jlu with a bed Kinda a let down.

They do look very similar that is for sure, however, the frame is completely different. The Gladiator frame is actually closer to the Ram in the way it’s constructed. I love the look of a Wrangler so naturally don’t mind the look of the Gladiator 🙂
