I'm glad you guys took.the trip out to the west coast to see all the huge trees. As a logger I've have seen many of the old growth get cut down and if we don't start protecting more there will b nothing left for the next generation to experience. We are very blessed to live in such a beautiful place.

Yes, The island is such a beautiful place. I think there’s only 3% of the old growth left on the island. It’s worth saving.

New trees grow very fast on the island and elsewhere in BC, WA and OR. Time to rely on second and third growth and leave what’s left of the old growth.

Yeah that was pretty sad , good video just sad about the trees . I'm originally from San Diego born and raised and stayed till age 62 when I retired and moved north near Seattle which has now been about two and a half years ago . In the two and a half years I have been up here I've seen more clear cut sections of forest than I would have ever dreamed would exist . It really is sad to see and a lot of it you can tell it was cut a long time ago but was never replanted . I love the WABDR especially the southern half and take my 4Runner on it sometimes , in fact planning a trip right now . Hope to see you on the trail sometime !

Awesome. Big Ole Doug is spectacular! Loved the video. I found you some time ago and now I'm thinking about Jeep camping. I don't know when I'll find the time, given work, my long distance motorcycling and power boating. Thanks for the videos! Oh, I have a new fantasy. After a long day in the woods, I come across a family of Overlanders from Canada. They welcome me to their camp and say, "we have some pan pizza left over, would you like some?" Died and gone to heaven! :-)

You should get the adapter from big propane bottle to little bottle. You can keep filling the small one so you don’t have to bust the big bottle out all time. You can refill the small one as many times as the big bottle allows.

Wind blows everything over...Peter freezes with camera...Carol continues cooking all the while managing an open flame, packing the tent away and keep the Jeep from becoming a kite! You'd never know that you two were not the ones doing the filming and editing before now. You do an excellent job storytelling, filming and putting it altogether with music (LOVE the orchestra music with the drone footage of Big Lonely Doug ~ fit perfectly). When the wind blew the roof tent over, it reminded me that primitive camping teaches you to "make do" or to be flexible. the weather, failure of equipment, wildlife, etc all interrupt our plans at times and you have to deal with it. Good luck with the antler hunt! Hope you find some. Tell the kids hello from the EFRT fan base! We miss them, though I'm sure not as much as you!

Those trees are so majestic and glad that conservation is practiced. We had a 34 hour power outage recently due to severe ice storms and my camping equipment came in handy, especially Mr. Buddy Heater, keeping our master bedroom a nice comfortable 65 degrees Fahrenheit vs 40F throughout the rest of the house. It was quite the experience cooking hot meals in the bedroom :) A friend in Houston texted me and his power finally came back on after several days. He and his family did the same thing in their master bedroom. Carol, that pizza looked five stars and I would imagine it was delicious.

I live in Youbou. Those people in Ferry Creek have been nothing but a nightmare. They got most of what they wanted. Still wont leave. Roads we use to explore and travel all blocked off. Hopefully they move on to their next paid cause. 2021 summer has been a nightmare with them. RCMP blockades everywhere. First nations land and they have been asked to leave by them. Another great video. Lake cowichan and youbou area are amazing. I am lucky to have a place there to just unwind.

Great video. Very tastefully done, it is a complicated situation. Personally I would like a stop to clear cutting of old growth and switch to just 2nd generation but I know there are many relying on the jobs. Anyways...thanks for the videos you guys are gonna know the back roads better than the locals soon!

Amazing footage as usual. It really is a shame that we’re even thinking of cutting down those majestic old growth trees. Outright criminal. That pizza looked absolutely amazing! I’m going to try a skillet pizza next time I’m out camping!

Love the unedited bits - like the wind disrupting camp! Lost my favorite chair when the wind lifted it and deposited it on the campfire - twice! First time I saw it happening; sprinted over and saved it. So I moved it, thought I secured it. Wind changed direction, lifted it up and threw it about 20 feet; landed, of course, on top of the fire. Decided that it wasn’t my fault - chair was cursed. Had the bright idea to hang roll of paper towels from a bungie - wind made that interesting, too!

Love this series my wife and I are doing this in may 2021! We’re 60ish and I’ve camped all over us and northern Canada as well as the Casiar highway to the Yukon But never had the gear you have till lately! But I must ask you to give more locational info. I’d love to follow tyou he path of one of your trips one day! I’m a Jeeper jk with great homemade cargo trailer/bear box combo! Just wish my EMT twin 21 yr old sons would join us But alas they’re jobs are more important o them now! But my Border collie Zeke is going with but staying in vehicle for travel instead of trying to herd grizz:) Thx for the fun and the inspiration!

Awesome trip! Luv everything about it... especially the environmental stewardship message. ‘Leave Tree’ I think the answer to cutting down big trees is ‘GLUE’ - since the technology exists to make amazing timber out of smaller trees - so the amazing big trees can be spared. Anyhow, inspirational trip! Thanks!
