a senior from my high school finally got his broadway debut as the understudy for evan hansen and he is coming back for graduation and singing this with the seniors in choir and theater from our school and I find that, and the song in itself, amazing.

Our choir class is kind of struggling with this song at the moment. We listened to this recording, and then sang along, to practice with the emotion. When we got to the fortissimo "you will be found" I about went Super Saiyan. When the girls started working on our solo, I was like, "*gasp*OXYGEN!"

It’s about you losing someone to something or losing yourself to things out in the world, something inside of you, or something inexplicable. Again I’m not trying to be rude but this song is not about one thing. It talks to everyone saying no matter what you’re going through, someone else will understand and someone else is in the same position but no matter what, you shouldn’t be afraid or depressed or anything because you feel lost or anything because one day you will be found

We’re singing this for choir

I just sent this arrangement to my choir teacher. This year two of our students at my school took their life, one of them being one of my closest friends, I feel like this would be a beautiful dedication to them. And maybe giving a speech mid way, I don’t know I just feel like this song shows the beauty in community and is a wonderful way to celebrate the lives of those we lost.

The first time I heard this I cried cause I was going through some stuff and now we're probably singing for graduation (yes I'm a senior). This song is so powerful man

Our high school is doing this for our spring concert in honor of a very close friend and choir mate of mine who we call Pidge. She recently committed suicide and our whole choir likes to thing of each other as family so this was devastating. I was there in the hospital before she died and all I could think afterwards was nothing. I felt absolutely numb and it hurt. Our teacher thought it would be a good idea do dedicate this to her for our last song and I think this was one of his best ideas yet. It’s bringing our choir even closer together than before and I genuinely feel that we can all support each other through this song. Dear Evan Hansen is such a relatable musical to kids of today and manages to get that one emotional chord in me every time. I miss Pidge with all my heart but I’m learning to move on and while I will not forget her I will not let this dictate my life. Just a message for y’all out there feelin’ lonely, there’s always someone out there for you, whether you realize that or not. So don’t ever give up life especially because there’s so much more to live for. (Sorry if I sound cheesy)😖

You know, this situation is really familiar. My high school is singing this song with the middle school this year for the same reason. The person that passed was a good friend of mine, even though I only knew her since this year because she was a freshman. We are going to be performing the 14th.

I went to my brothers graduation and this is what the choir sang and they sang it so well

I sang this in choir 3 years ago in 7th grade. However last school year in January we lost a student due to suicide. We were going to play it in band and dedicate it to him but because of Covid we were unable to perform it. So as a way to say goodbye the people in the 7th grade choir got the music from our director and all recorded ourselves singing our parts at sent in to our school for our last day of school presentation and congratulations to our Seniors. Every person on that call was crying.

I actually imagined how this would be in our school And well I started crying

this was going to be the last song i sang on stage with my best friend. the last song i sang on the stage where i took my last bow, the last song i sang with the people who have become my family throughout the last 7 years. my last song in that school, with those people, on that stage, feeling the most love i’ve ever felt. and now it will never happen. i had my “last” without even realizing it. sucks.

So were singing this for choir,and we have listened to it so many times by now we all have probably cried once like now everytime i listen to it,i think of my best friend who moved to california and how hard it was for her to be gone. Its breaks my heart to know when we sing this ill be dead out crying because she said shes coming back to see us perform it and after its over,im gonna go give her the biggest hug ever and CrY🥺💜

I had a theater camp about a month ago, we did this song as our grand finale, and this arrangement. It was incredible. Thank you Evan Hansen, and Mac Huff.

Not knowing my senior choir is doing this song, finding it in my choir folder, I dropped my folder, dropped on my knees, and cried for a solid minute. That's how much this song meant to me....

We did this at blue lake and we had a deep ass discussion about it and i dead ass cried during rehearsal while singing this

I knew this had to be in the new crop. Thank you. I can't say I care for most of the music in "Dear Evan Hansen," but this one is so important for middle and high school and college students and all of us to sing and to hear...and understand. Thank you for making this available.

So true. Im in middle school and all I can say is that I wish I was dead. I think about suicide. So many times. Its now to the point ever day its a thing. I hate myself. Im a loner and people see I have depression. The only place I feel safe is singing or being with cats. I sleep alot which isn't good. I've cut myself and my family found out. I hate my life. Why did god make me.

katherine halliwell I don't know you but I can tell you as someone who has depression, anxiety, and especially in middle school and currently high school feel like I'm lonely and that no one really understands me, can tell you that there are people that care about you and would be very devastated if you were gone. I know it feels like it will never get better but it does, trust me. Sometimes to help cope with problems it helps me to talk to someone else about it who has my same issues, as well as find something you enjoy doing, wether it be art, music, video games, watching KZread videos or a TV show. I hope you think about what I've said and maybe find someone else to talk to.

Okay so every other year we do a themed concert for spring concert. This is my senior year and it's the themed concert and our theme is "And the winner is.." basically songs that have won awards like tonys or Oscars and stuff like that and all year I have been wanting to do this song and the other day during our jazz group rehearsal he had gotten some sheet music he ordered for that concert and he started holding up some and he held up this one and I literally jumped up and screamed (along with literally everyone else in the choir that gets to sing it; Concert Choir, our top in school group) and I literally was like about to cry I love this song so much it's so beautiful and makes me cry every time I'm so excited to be able to do

I love this song, its a great message. During this song i gave a small speech about how i have been bullied throughout my life by other kids. The audience sat in silence and when i had my solo it was so emotional and it just made my day seeing all the people in the crowd looking at me. This song lets people know they do matter and no matter what happens someone will find you and help you. We did it for my pops concert last year( i was a sophmore) and its was amazing. Thanks so much for making this song.

My graduating class decided to do this song for our graduation song in 2017, however, the musical was so new that there was not a choral arrangement yet. One of my friends, and fellow senior, took it upon herself to arrange it. She did a wonderful job and specifically arranged it for our choir. This song will always mean so much to me. It was kind of funny for us to see an arrangement posted weeks after we had performed our own arrangement. Happy memories. :)

Just finished singing this in my middle school chior. I sang the second solo. We sang it for a 6th grade chior teacher who's leaving and it's his favorite song. He cried after my solo. we are singing this for our very last choir concert for this year at my middle school I go to and my choir teacher said that this song has alot more meaning then what alot of people thought and in the same day he told us that we talked about a variety of different things like bullying or the death of a loved one and he also told us to link it to someone or something we have lost or anything along those lines.

The 8th graders at my school get to collectively vote on a song to do for our spring concert. One of my friends and I both suggested this song and everyone voted for it, so now I'm gonna get to spread this amazing message to as many people as possible and its absolutely amazing.

So simple, yet so complex... I'm doing this for my select group of choir students thing, and it's so beautiful.

This was the song we sang at my senior graduation a few years ago. Standing up there and performing this with everyone else while in my graduation robes felt so surreal. That was when it truly hit me that I was leaving behind the group I had developed such a close bond with and performed so many concerts together. The meaning behind the song made it even more heartbreaking, yet at the same time uplifting. I still have the sheet music as a treasured keepsake of those special memories

I’m listening to this song on my Bluetooth speaker right now on my way to County Chorus!! We are singing this song and every time the music gets to about 1:53 everybody gets so emotional!
