Wow, I hadn’t known about Litwa. Very refreshing to hear his very balanced perspective. Funny how the Neoplatonists (I dislike the use of neo- just as much as the pseudo-) are more clearly seen as just as biased as everyone else. It’s scary to think of the devastation of all this knowledge in and after Alexandria, IMO.

True IpsissimusPrime, "Neo-Platonism" is just another hermeneutical term. But for the sake of streamlining the conversation, we use it. Thanks for watching- more on the way!

@@WABTpodcast Sorry, I didn’t mean to suggest that the use of it in this great podcast was offensive. The CH Poimandres was actually the first piece of ancient literature that made me a “Seeker “ now almost 30 years ago when I read it. I much preferred Freke and Gandy’s retelling rather than Copenhaver’s translation. His mention of Neoplatonism as the origin author was offensive - on first read! 😂 And as I learned more and discovered my “apophatic” roots, I found the same thing with Pseudo-Dionysus. Great job on this! Subscribed!

You guys are really smart at the start of the day, but at the end of the night, no one can ever know what any of these mysteries mean. None of us were there abd the information that has been left behind is always compromised in some manner. So great intellectual rhetoric but none if it is ever going to be facts. Peace unto you.

Totally disagree with Sledge, he's taking the comment of one man and applying it to an entire group.
