just now i received my reef master steel case, it’s really amazing at 200$ !! one, love the polished and brushed line on the lug. its very aesthetic and original. two, love the seamless transition from the shiny ceramic bezel to the domed sapphire crystal. they form almost a single integral structure. the gloss and angle match with each other in perfect precision. three, love the lumes on the bezel and dial. they’re absolute killer. crazy. you will only love it.

Ok ok... I just ordered one. The loom shot of this particular model with the mix of blue and green lume was the detail that pushed me over the edge.

I like that the date wheel is black to match the dial with white printed numbers. I wish more watches would do that.

Probably not an accident, they RIP off designs from existing watches, even ripping off part of the name. Where they di their own thing, they come up with monstrosities like the great wall

This thing replaced my SKX. It fixed all the "problems" the SKX was plagued with. I am probably going to pick up a second one in the black and orange.

I prefer the 6 o'clock date location on my Wavemaster. I would like to see the sandwich dial with thicker (bigger cutouts) indices. Most of my NH35a's are quite slow. How much extra would it cost to offer a regulated movement?

This is a beautiful watch in real life. I sold mine to fund the upcoming purchase of the Phoibos Eagle Ray. I loved the Ref Master, but something had to go.

Really love these watches.

Just checked out their site, there's a blue one that looks very pelagos like with the matte blue and white.

I own my grandfathers watch, a early 1960's Jules Jurgensen hand wind watch. Beautiful Gents watch in 14K or 18K gold. I've seen them on the gray market, if you have the original boxes(which I do), they can go upwards of a 1000 bucks. An absolutely gorgeous dress watch.

Another brilliant unboxing Jory, I personally had never heard of Phoibos until you brought them to my attention, love discovering new watch brands and what they have to offer. Also would like to hear your opinions regarding models from the Seiko Recraft series. They are slowly becoming very popular and you being a Seiko fan I'd love to hear your thoughts. Again with the weird date window. I can’t say I like slimming the window down and then making the date panel black. The hands contrasting the dial are a nice touch, but we’re going to take Away some points for no crown guard.

Jory, love your channel. Since you love the SKX I think you need to check out the NATO Diver by Deep Blue Watches. It is an SKX homage with a sapphire crystal, Seiko NH36 (4R36) movement, Signed crown, 300M dive rating and a wearable 44mm. I own all the SKXs from the 007, 009 and 013 I love the NATO Diver from DeepBlue Watches.

I like the dial and bezel, but I don’t like the fact that the case and lugs look like a knockoff of the classic Omega case used for the Speedmaster and Seamaster.

You mentioned the word “subdued.” I was hoping you said “Sub Dude.” Was hoping it was a combined response to the Glycine Combat Sub and the Vostok Scuba Dude.

Picked up one. Really nice for the money. Too shiney for my taste and runs 10-15 fast. But for $229, a hell of a lot of watch. Couldn’t pass up on a Cthulhu watch.

I like the Ocean Master much more.

The finish is really better on the reef master or at least you have much lesser chance to get a misaligned bezel and poor accuracy (30 sec or more per day).

You should review either the zelos swordfish or the helm khuraburi

If you're looking for a solid microbrand with sapphire crystal, 300m water resistance and a Seiko NH35 movement check out the Helm Vanuatu. The price is about the same and it is very impressive...

Just baught a Islander "skx" (basically a modded Seiko skx with modern Seiko 5 movement, sapphire crystal, ceramic lume bezel and no misalignment) and this reef master. Yeah when you see the price asked for prosplex and Seiko 5, it looks overpriced. Planned to offer a Seiko 5 for Christmas to my father, it's gonna be an Islander.

I prefer the other watch

Ha Ha another diver on a leather strap and another nh35. The 35 dollar movement as its known in some circles.

first impression, this reminds me of the Blancpain Fifty-Fathoms

You get the strap wrong, every single time. Great vid though.

For less money, I would recommend this over the SKX any day of the week.

Matt McLoughlin Bias. If a watch company ships him 10 free watches do you think that might have some impact on his review? This is common in YT reviews. Many reviewers disclose if the items being reviewed were complimentary or if the reviewer used their own funds to purchase the watch. They can say all they want it doesn't factor in but perception is reality. We, as viewers, want to be sure reviews are in fact reviews and not comped/ bought and paid for advertising through the medium of free merch.
