I swear rik mayall had the best facial expressions.
‘What time do you call this?’ How could such a simple line be so funny? lol

Because every blokes had it from the missus 😂
First episode I watched when I was about 7. Didnt get half the jokes but the slapstick element was enough. Watched it multiple times growing up and got the jokes whilst still laughing at the slapstick. Best comedy ever made for me.
The look on Rik's face at 0:28 is hilarious.

Haha now lets dally with the truth for while I wanna find the confidence to say "I was struck by lightening and etcetera " 😆😆😆😆 Have had a friend say to his dad in response to being asked "whats in the bag" to which Ben responded with (best mate actually) "what are they showing?" I was in bits!
0:28 I'll never forget that face, from the very moment I first saw it.
Funny how Richie adopted the wife role!🤣
Simply wonderful. Its so sad for me when I look back at Rik's energy and carefree enthusiasm. . . now he is gone. Someone once said "Time waits for no man", and I guess its true. Reminds us to appreciate every moment we have of this privilege that is life. God bless you Rik. We love you and will always miss you. Respect.

This was the early 90s, back when everything cost half to a third cheaper than what they do today. £1.75 then is the equivalent of a fiver today (roughly).

@@Jo-hc8pm You Wanna Fight? | Bottom | BBC Comedy Greats 24.2.23 1117am and ruins yer love life or yer social relations and basically demands all the attention - which must be a bane. i can easily wax lyrical about hypothetic notions such as characterizations within a comedy show as it refers to nothing but a tawdry template for comedic joy or woe. anyhow; i know folk who iron -they're usually hermits with no time for anyone... peeking thru windows watching folk ironing. ahahahaha... it's the worst household chore you could devise, is ironing, and, as a result, i dont do it - lest i become akin to richie and destroy any semblance of scruples i may have had re: social intercourse and pleasantries. maybe the young ones and filthy rich and catflap and bottom ruined a great many latent love lives or stalled a great many love lives - inadvertently?

@@inthegrass11 Comments on ‘You Wanna Fight? | Bottom | BBC Comedy Greats’ 10.3.23 0227am sadly i am not. not married. it would have been interesting now i am of th age to appreciate it. though smelly people keep stealin' my brass - something a wife would do, i feel. these two maybe married in your head but i think that's taking things too far. most people, in my estimation and/or experience, are vile sadistic inbred types who do need a good pummeling. if only for parity's sake. and that's all marriage is - parity. making good a cruddy situation - either via stealth and dishonesty or via some idyllic sunshine of some dilapidated mindset as they gamble hand in hand over the meadow into obscurity - making names for themselves within each other's purple headed consciousness. if Nike or Citroen hasnt done that yet then i am sure a la(d)y of your own choosing will.
comedy genius! I love these two comedy legends!

I don't think I have ever heard nor read a more sarcastic or even caustic remark delivered so brilliantly as, "Marvellous banter Eddie. I'm bereft of ribs..!!!" It was underappreciated. Probably unnoticed too. Rik Mayall was one of the greatest comedian and actor ever. A true genius of comedic timing and eristic dialogue delivery. Be it as Richie or Lord Flashheart he didn't steal the scene, he became the scene. Everything and everyone else were props to help him render a masterrul and hilarious performance. God was probably becoming depressed and that's why took Rik away from us so damn quickly.....
