Some people think Mr. Bean is Rowan's funniest role, but for me Blackadder is a treasure. In my opinion this is his greatest character. And Hugh Laurie is wonderful no matter what he does.

Only cultured individuals learned in the ways of the English tongue can appreciate the Black adders, yet there's no need for any of that to find Bean funny. Since you need not culture no language, it becomes easily accessible to the whole world.

Olle Rönn I consider this to be one of the best written and acted scenes in BBC history. The looks Rowan gives provided the setting is perfect for the setting of a butler who's Name would never been known and the words of the aristocratic "Perfectly" edited is genius.

BlackAdder surely had some of the most perfectly executed comedic timing of any TV comedy. That look BlackAdder gives at 1:26 followed by the "He continues...." Still kills me nearly 35 years on.

Wonder how many times in total did Blackadder get literally stunned by the unbelievable stupidity of the people his adventures led him into, just like here. Thank god we had Atkinson to act out the reactions, because he is obviously hilariously superb at that.

“Just make sure she knows I’m all man! With a bit of animal thrown in! GRRR!!!” That is a CRIMINALLY underrated line!

If one hears Rowan deliver a serious monologue in some conference, you can scarcely believe how flawless his comic timing is.

I just love BlackAdder III. I don't know what's more impressive, his graceful, yet hilarious deliveries, or his utterly priceless facial expressions when he reacts to all the stupidity around him. Pure gold.

I think it is the best out of the 4 series. Every episode was hilarious.

Hugh's dictation is hysterical but Rowan's upturned eyebrow and long, incredulous stare always steals the scene.

Oh, Miranda Richardson! To quote her father in this episode: "I love her more than any pig, and that's saying summat!"

It never gets old and doesn't matter how many times you watch it. One of the best things that Rowan Atkinson has done.

Maybe that's part of it, but I think the roll of the eyes is mostly because Amy's 'I can get pretty cross myself' bears no relation whatsoever to what Blackadder was just saying...

I really do like the fashion of that time period.

No, not really.. You should watch the episode. It is hillarious. I believe it called "Amy and Amiability", and Amy here is certainly a lot more amirable than she lets on.

Thanks for reminding me of how much I laughed at this show. I was actually tempted to simply quote part of this scene's script to see if it'd generate thousands of likes, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

The only aspect I'd change is, from "woof woof" to "awoooo"

A master Wordsmith. If only such words could still be used for a constant positive result. Oh well, still gonna use it.

Admission time: I'd never seen any of Miranda Richardson's earlier roles. Earlier than Queen Mab in the Sam Neill Merlin specials or Rita Skeeter from the Harry Potter movies (though I mostly remember her for the former). This threw me the hell off. Hugh Laurie (who I knew way before House) and especially Rowan Atkinson did not surprise me at all. Her? I found myself staring like Edmund at her character whilst being impressed by her own range.

She was like a spoilt child and the nurse was just stupid. I found them irritating as characters. As Amy Hardwood, she sounds stupid as well. However, as the highway woman, she is much better.
