Thanks Mick that was a very cool demo. Very interesting little device. I have a Versa-tap and yes it is huge. That one of your Dad’s is very compact. Well Done!
Hello Mick, I have not see one like this... thanks for sharing. Take care. Paul,,
Very cool Mick, sure beats having to guess the coast down time or fumbling to hit the brake. Thanks for sharing !
A very nice tapping tool, thanks for sharing!
That is a very cool tapping head. Much like you, I like the compact design
Great tapping head Mick cheers Kev uk
A nice little tool, thanks for sharing!
Nice. It takes away the stress factor for tuning off the mill at the right moment.

Indeed, exactly the way I look at it. It takes a lot of the stress out of power tapping. I don't know if I would buy it if it were still available for sale, but since I have it I'll use it.
Interesting tooling, great video, keep'um coming..from one mick to another. Lol..
Pretty slick tool.
Cheers Mick, that's a cool tapping head!

Now that I know what it is and how it works I'll definitely be using it more often. I think it's kind of strange that the company seems to have just disappeared.

eyup Mick. I repaired a tapping head. Shown on my channel. But the tapping action auto reverses when you take the pull down on the quill. Subbed to your channel. Regards. Steve.UK.

Mick I think tapping heads are ace. I have one and I could tap holes all day just for fun. Cheers
Hey Mick. Just found your channel after seeing you in the comments section of Arron's channel ( Aaron Engineering ) in his latest Live Stream with SJB Steve. Yes, you have definitely got me with this Tap Head ?? I have seen many different versions but nothing exactly like this. It does remind me of a CNC Floating Head design which I am more familiar with. Your right about the Auto Reverse versions when you say they are fairly large in size, even with the smallest versions. Where possible I try to do most of my Thread Tapping in a CNC Mill, but I do use the Auto Reverse version in my Manual Mill, for longer parts that are not so good to run in a CNC Mill. It will definitely make life easier when I can finish my Mazak Mission ( CNC Lathe Rebuild ) and run the parts in that machine. But all good things in time. Would be great to see the tools your Dad left for you in a video one day ? Thanks for demonstration of your very rare Tapping Head. Peter 👍
Enjoyed the demonstration Mick. Does it work on left handed taps? Thanks for sharing. Tony

Hi Tony, it does not, that is a limitation of it.
Interesting, not seen that before. Out of interest, have you seen my video of making an adaptor for mounting a camera on a magentic base you can sit on mill tables and lathes? You have the tap for the job and I bet you have the die. (Either 1/4 20 UNC or Whitworth will do).

Hi Ben, I have and I have a few different setups, I'll try them out some more. Thanks!
I have the same one, or very similar, it came with my Mag Drill, they're used in the Construction Industry..

I have several of these. They were common on pre-cnc automatic screw machines.

That's cool. Are they the same brand, because I can't even find the name other than the interior pipe wrench?

Your experience with the USPS is not that unusual. I ordered something that got shipped from a suburb North of me and it toured the Midwest before it arrived.....
Brand and web link to any information would be cool

There is no information available. The company doesn't seem to exist anymore. This was explained in the first few minutes of the video.
