Every game feels like there's a main plot going on of finding out the demon with a side-plot of sully trying to deal with the role he's been given.

I dont get why he didn't just say his role on the first night. Its not like the mutant has any helpful abilities and wasting the first day is better than wasting any other day

Because the Mutant "may" die if they confess. The ST can just let Sully live while he keeps claiming to be the Mutant, thus making him look pretty shady.

@@SV-yo6nq True, but even then, claiming an Outsider is still pretty dangerous in S&V. In an 8 player game, you are potentially telling the Pit-Hag that the other Outsiders are not in play or a Fang Gu to target you.

She's played it quite a bit, to be fair. When you're around veterans a lot, this kind of world-view creation isn't uncommon. Not to take anything away from her though. She's really good and deserves all the credit. It's impossible for her to have cheated, of course, as I was the only person who had the grimoire and it was stored locally, on my PC, an entire ocean away from her.

Carley is crazy good at this game. It’s almost unfair. She had Adam figured out right from the start, and had the whole scenario pieced together by the last round. She’s streets ahead.

So I’d kind of agree with you, but to be honest as someone with quite a bit of experience of this game too it’s less to me that Carley played supernaturally well and more that evil blundered here, admittedly entirely excusably as they are beginners, but Jon revealing he was the sweetheart was in my book always going to lose him the game. I suspect even if every player had been a beginner that would have been an almost certain game-loser, and it had me screaming at my monitor when it happened.

Carley: “Brooke, you’re the juggler right?” Brooke “I’m the juggler! I’m the juggler! I love being the the juggler!” 🤣

Thank you for the "A quick word on the Vortox". I had no idea why everyone was focusing on a character not in the game (well other than the poisoner which makes perfect sense).

The day Sully is on the evil team, this video will be the 20 minutes. Bare in mind the intro in about 15 minutes long.

Few things get me like a good smashcut. "Good morning: Brooke is executed, Sully is executed, goodnight!" "WHAT?!" Perfection.

I wouldn't normally think Ben selected the roles to suit the player. But there is no way you can convice me that Sully being the mutant was random. Also gotta love Adam for trying and succeeding in getting a free execution. It ended up hurting them more than helping but he's a sneaky one that Adam.

I guess I'm too used to watching the "pro" players on the official BOTC channel where they would have gotten this immediately. In such a short/small game they really shouldn't have been getting confused by that though, I really was shocked Carley didn't put it all together, though she redeemed herself by nailing pretty much everything else in the whole game.

Adam is the best perpetrator of chaos and I love him. Carly is too damn smart. Laurie is my favorite and I’m so sad he fumbled the first round 😭

Damn, Carly is scary good at this game!!! She is definitely a veteran at this. It's easy to see that her, issac, and Adam have spent some time in these kind of games. The strength of knowing the roles and potential swaps give them a distinct advantage. Top play from some top players!!! Love the series

Just so you can understand my thought process a bit more....no one voting with me actually made me more confident in my theory. Usually evil players will happily support inaccurate pitches that someone is evil. It's extra good death they don't have to orchestrate and causes huge distrust amongst the good players. My heart sinks if I push for something and everyone likes it. Absolutely no one supporting me, especially that early, was sort of the convincing I needed that I was right.

@Kyle On the official twitch channel this has become almost a meme at this point. People will claim a vote was an “easy lift” when there aren’t even enough votes to execute. So, conversely, you can also use this to bully this idea to bully players into not voting 😈

I need to see a whole game where Sully gets a different character every day, but I worry he might lose his mind and we can't have that.

Why is Laurie juggling suddenly making him even more attractive? Yes, I'm aware I'm a broken man.

Carly is practically impossible to fool, Sully is always a delight, Adam's completely wild plays never fail to fascinate, Laurie is inscrutable & all the more dangerous for it, Isaac is quietly relentless in his interrogations, Blair is infuriatingly preciously adorable, Jon has a great knack for misdirection & spanners, & Brooke's unpredictability is always fun. @@SV-yo6nq I think he messed up at the end. Him saying it was himself and not wanting to put Jon under the bus didn't help. If he did that and Jon voted himself I think there would be enough confusion that might have won them the game. Also he said the true genius play after which would have been if he made himself the demon as Carly was hot on his tail for being the minion. Making himself the demon and doing the I will nominate myself would have for sure worked.

@@noneurbuisness777 I think it would have been just one logical leap from where they were, if Jon had died in the night. You have the good Cerenovus, who has proven themself, you have the savant, whose info points to things she shouldn't have known, and you have the Oracle, who's been distrusted all game. I don't disagree that it would have been the best play, but I think Jon dying would be very confusing. Though, there would be something to be said about turning Blair or Carly into the demon... but that's always a gamble, and I'm not sure this group is experienced enough (as a whole) that they would worry about trusting the good player who said that...

Carly is insanely good and Sully's a hot mess so now I want to see them as an evil team together more than anything.

@@readilium3432 The channel Blood on the Clocktower is run by the actual creators of the game itself, The Pandemonium Institute. You will often find Daddy Ben storytelling or playing in a player perspective game. If that is something that doesn’t interest you, there is a newer channel, Demon Bluffs, where people play the game as well. I am one of the players on that specific channel, so I am naturally bias, but I think Demon Bluffs is fantastic also. It’s a group of players that don’t take themselves too seriously, and there is a lot of laughter.

Hey! Just wanted to say thanks for giving us such a comprehensive series of this game. I notice a lot of board game youtube channels just play the base game or the most accessible variants, which bums me out cuz I love to explore the complexities. So I appreciate you guys moving on to Sects & Violets now that Trouble Brewing has run its course. Looking forward to next month's episode!!

This series has been such a delight. Seeing you all have such a fun, clever time in your various roles in this game over the past 3 vids has been great. From the more familiar faces I've been a fan of, like Adam, Tom and Laurie from CBW, to the folks I've gotten to know over the eps, everyone adds something special to these games. What a great group! Also, need to add the GMs are incredibly knowledgeable and gel so well together. Both of them add so much to the story, just fantastic work all around!

Just wanted to say over the past few days I have binged these 4 episodes that came out, I didn't know what it was but I've played Avalon alot and werewolf so it Intrigued me. Literally everyone whose been on these have been amazing to watch and this is now one of my favourite things to watch, it's so interesting and Ben runs it very very well and explains everything extremely well, as well as whoever edits these with the little graphics and such. So just wanted to say well done and can't wait for the next one 👍😁 I'm kinda sorta extremely devastated there isn't like another 100 to watch haha

Oh, this was interesting. The play of abilities with each other in this one was delicious. Also, Tom just, kinda blinking into existence in the corner of Adams and Sullies conversation and just... sitting there, was pretty good. Oh god, that double-madness kill was great. Madness is an amazing mechanic and it's so fun.

I have just binge watched all of the Blood on the Clocktower episodes. These are priceless, hilarious and please please tell me there are more to come?!

I was watching this episode through more experienced eyes. Since the 1st three BotC videos, I've been checking out more games hosted by Daddy Ben, and have become familiar with a lot of roles. I was screaming IT'S JON IT'S JON as the good team were unsure of the mechanics. In short, I'm really getting into this game. Looking forward to the No Rolls Barred crew becoming dab hands and really nailing a hardcore game. Side note, it was very cruel to give Sully the mutant role but... Geez, it made sense. 👍👍👍

Bad Moon Rising is so completely different from the other two! There's only 1 role that gets ongoing information from the storyteller; the vast majority of town's information is going to be coming from who dies at night and who survives executions. Oh, and if someone comes back to life. BMR is also home to (as was mentioned offhandedly) the Zombuul, a demon that appears dead the first time it dies, but actually isn't. Hence why you might need to execute someone 2 times; there's even (a rare) reason why you might execute someone three times, like what happened

watched this twice and was on the edge of my seat each time. I'd love if this was fortnightly like this, weeks 1&3 for Quizzelmania and then weeks 2&4 for NRB Play: BotC

1:24:00 The winning play for Adam was for him to make Jon the Leech and have him select Blair. I leave it as an exercise to the reader to figure out why.

Thanks to watching these videos, I broke my blood On the clock tower cherry tonight, and had a blast. Holding secret meetings in back alleys to orchestrate the final execution of the game is an amazing feeling. Love this series of videos, and genuinely can't click on them fast enough. Does 'no rolls barred' have a community discord server for playing this with like minded people?

The drama encased in these play-through videos are second to none. And I don’t just mean Sully’s monologue at the end.

A year late, but I really dig the play Adam makes at the end here. Sure, it didn't work, but it was genius. Adam nominated himself to try to get one or two ghost votes wasted. The ghosts can only vote on one person. So his nominating himself served the purpose of "hey, maybe someone votes for me" but also the much more likely, "Hey, maybe it creates just enough confusion that not all the ghosts vote for Jon." And it very nearly worked. You can see a few of the ghosts waffle on the final vote. If he'd gotten a few to not vote on Jon, then Evil, having an extra player, could have voted in a block and then tied.

It was actually his own demise, because the obvious thought everyone had was that he was doing it to protect Jon. If he really wanted to throw a curveball, he should have nominated Jon, who then wouldn't have gotten anywhere near as many votes for himself. Laurie could even use his ghost vote to make it really look like Adam was the real demon. And, critically, by nominating himself and having it not go through, he all but ensured that Jon would go on the chopping block.
