I'm a little confused. People are talking about the show 5 years after it ended? I only watched the last season over the last week or two. Put off watching it for a long time for a different reasons. Ending confused the Unholy sweet Jesus out of me I got to see if anybody's done a ending explained video because the ending just makes about as much sense to me as voluntarily having somebody kick you below the belt. As an example Diane is married and yet her husband isn't seen at the party, there's pretty much no mention at all of Todd's relationship with his girlfriend or any sight of her at the party. Clearly princess is married obviously but again her husband is only mentioned like all he's off somewhere is doing work. Then there's the fact they never explain what was in the letter from hollyhock? I would have thought they would have had Bojack to some extent reconnect with his sister as part of closing the series down I figured there would have been some sort of a point where her and his sister spoke to each other and sort of things out. I never understood they just show him dropping the letter and never explain what was in the letter. Honestly I was wondering if something had happened to her and that was the whole point of the letter. It was just weird they left that open. So many little weird things they left open without closing up. As an example the last going off Todd was running a daycare and they don't seem to make any more mention of the daycare at all in the final episode like maybe mentioning Todd went on to a different job again or he was still running the daycare that sort of thing. The episode was just this weird Bojack talking to the five core characters from the first episode and that was it it didn't really accomplish anything from my perspective. Not to mention I'm guessing it was meant to be a joke he went to supposedly the most secure prison possible for something that most people especially celebrities get community service or 3 months in a blue collar prison even for repeat offenders. The guy got drunk broke into a house and nearly died in a pool there are some pretty hardcore criminals that do that sort of exact thing and they get three to six months in minimum security prison lol. Prisons with the name supermax are usually reserved for guys that have escaped from multiple prisons and we're talking lifetime drug dealers that sort of thing. I honestly thought they were going to round the show out with him working with some writer or something like that. Where somebody decided to reach out to him and want to write a book about everything warts and all so to speak and talk to him and other people to get different perspectives it's one of the things I thought they might have done. And rather than him getting back into acting probably continue working at a college somewhere as a professor where it seemed to be the one thing he enjoyed more than acting. I Wonder has anybody else wondered about why does BoJack Horseman feel like it's heavily based on Bob Saget or is it just me?. Horse and around reminds me of Full House and everything with Bojack a lot of it strongly resembles Bob Saget when you think about it. There was literally a gag in the Entourage where Bob Saget plays himself and whenever he was in episodes of Entourage you'll notice he behaves like Bojack in one particular joke he bragged about having sex with one of the other cast members from full house after she was of legal age Kimmy Gibbler or something like that I forget the exact name of the character it was the annoying talkative girl at any rate. Another comparison between Bob Saget and BoJack Horseman is Mr Peanut Butter and Steve Coulier hence why I keep swearing this thing is based a lot on Bob Saget where are you factor in Saget started out as a stand-up comedian Steve Coulier and all the comparisons between him and Mr Peanut Butter as another example where one seem to be just trailing behind the other like when Bob Saget got America's Funniest Home Videos and they hired coolier as the host for America's Funniest People BoJack Horseman with horsing around and Mr Peanut Butter having nearly The Identical show with a slightly different premise. Am I the only person that keeps making the connection between Bob Saget and coolier for the two characters. You factor in that for some weird reason Diane looks strikingly like Bob Saget as another example

I think you're expecting the show to wrap everything up nicely and conclude everything but that's not how it goes. Their lives just keep going and you don't get to see everything. And with Holly Hollyhock its very much implied she doesn't want to see bojack anymore and that's it. They don't make up in the end, sometimes you just lose people in your life and it sucks but it's real.

Hello! I haven’t fully finished reading your comment so bear with me there with be a bunch of edits! None of the characters significant others are in the episode because they wanted the final episode to only have the main characters speaking. You do see some other background characters but none of them have speaking rolls (yes this was intentional) but it’d be weird if they showed Judah on screen only for him not to say anything. The ending is a little confusing especially with an episode about Bojack “dying” right before, but this is a show some people can relate to and even help people. So killing off the main character wouldn’t be very helpful 😂 but seriously if you noticed every season finally ends with bojack being okay ish in case they got cancelled. They always wanted it to end semi happy As for the hollyhock situation I’m pretty sure they wanted to show that everyone bojack has loved has just run away as if he has scared them out of his life. As hollyhock mentioned before in the show she didn’t really NEED bojack she already had a thousand dads. After her incident with Beatrice she began to have trust issues, and in the episode where she comes to visit Bojack and thinks he is trying to hurt her. He explains they are for his back HOWEVER in that episode when they are trying to get the medication from some sketchy dudes they have to run away because the cops show up. They then have to run into an alleyway and are forced to jump a fence. With ease Bojack climbs over the gate even with his so called back injury. Which of course led to more trust issues. Then he became a teacher at her school which she AGAIN wasn’t happy about. They got into an argument and he said he’d leave when the school year ended. She later went to her first college party and was told what happened in Mexico when he went to the dance. After all of the trust issues and being told she could trust Bojack she finally cracked and cut her relationship with him. The letter is pretty self explanatory after realizing all of this considering she’s never in the show again.

@@josecaceres5658 One of the things I was trying to point out is I would have expected them to at some point show what was in the letter I mean it looked like it was a three-page letter so I expected there must have been something there for the warrant A3 Page Letter. Given her age I'm surprised she didn't just send him a text message on his phone would have expected kind of a short brief text message which is what most young people do. Point I was mainly trying to make was they made no mention at all of Todd's relationship as an example and there was no sign of his girlfriend likewise Diane she's at her Best Friend's Wedding or whatever you want to refer to it as second wedding and her husband wasn't summer is bumping around in the crowd at a bare minimum same thing there was no sign of Todd's girlfriend somewhere is in the background or something. Jonah despite it's a wedding celebration barely got a honorable mention I figured at the very least they would have showed him somewhere in the background at some point. It was just kind of strange that they just had the core characters and it was this weird little series of awkward conversations. It almost felt like they just at the last minute decided to end it given the way certain things played out earlier in the season it was like it wasn't originally planned and on this season. It seemed kind of last minute and rushed if that makes any sense I wasn't expecting them to tie anything off as you call it given the way the show ran but I expected it to be significantly different kind of ending not just more like we're in a rush and we need to end it kind of ending.

@peterparker6584 some things are better show not tell. They don't need to show us what's on the letter because they know we're smart enough to infer what it says. The moment bojack looks at the letter he slinks into the couch and goes back to drinking. Also I'm not surprised they didn't show characters like jonah in the final scene. It was focused more on giving us a final interaction between bojack and all the other main characters. Seeing how their relationships with bojack have changed and matured. I feel like you might have wanted a more simple tv ending where everyone gets to say hi and everything is resolved with a happy ending but it's just not that kind of show.
