I love Oscar Kennedy in his role as young Nigel Slater. It should be interesting to see how he evolves as an adult actor once he becomes one. Such a very beautiful boy.

Oscar Kennedy is an amazing young actor, very natural, i call him the new Richard Burton.

Helena is amazing... as always :) Quite ironic tho that she is called Mrs Potter in this :P

Can't believe some of the nasty comments on here concerning Nigel's behaviour! Can't you all see that this was born out of the fact that Niges's needs weren't met in a spiritual way. He may have been alright materially, but had his opinions and psychological needs completely and utterly ignored. That is what caused the behaviour. Thank goodness he got out and made his mark on this world in the way he wanted to!

This has been changed from being a biography to fiction with some actual events. This was entertaining film but in no way was it true description of what actually happened. She never made the mirangue her daughter did, (his stepsister that lived with them made it) She was a basic cook. She never wore provocative clothing or spoke so common (she did live in a council estate). She never killed him by over feeding him like this film implies. When his dad died he left everything to his wife and she gave a cheque to Nigel. After he got the cheque he cut all ties with her. (the truth was his dad didn't like Nigel like his other 2 brothers unfortunately). Guess it would be boring if that was in the film.

Oscar Kennedy is an amazing natural actor, he doesnt need to say anything, he just has to be in a film frame & he commands the scene, am i the only one to see this?

Wonderful movie and one of my favorites! Oscar Kennedy and Helena Bonham Carter were amazing in their respective roles.
