You Singaporean?

Комедия

A day in the life of a typical working class Singaporean named Terry reveals to us many Singaporean characteristics that we do not pay much attention to. This film shows how little things can bring out the "singaporean-ness" in us, and gives us a good reason to be proud of our country.

Just happened to stumble across this video while scanning around youtube. Caught my attention, and I find it very down to earth. Very local and humorous. Good singlish!

Funny depiction of our every day hectic lives.. I must say his Singlish accent was overwhelmingly exaggerated, even I find it weird. Hahaha

Studying overseas as a Malaysian, and watching videos like these still gives me a sense of home, even though it's about Singapore, the accent, and the usage of this language just sounds so familiar to me.

@slimrxshady Since "contrived" is an adjective and "very" is an adverb, and the rules of English syntax allows an adverb to be in front of an adjective to allow the mean of the adjective to be enhance, I don't see why I can't put "very" and "contrived" together. Does that answer ur question? Anyway, to the producers of this video, I would really love to know what is the ideology behind this video, and what was it meant for? For grading? If so which module is that?

@shadowpal2 It is to mean that whenever some customers buy something from a shop, like that very-expensive toy,or more commonly things like Cameras and things that cost hundreds of dollars or above, they tend to ask if the shop can reduce the price for them.If the price is not negotiable, the customer will ask for something for free to go with the product. For example,I bought a new Camera.Since the price of the Camera can't be reduced,I ask for a free memory card or a pouch to go with the Camera.

Very realistic picture of the average Singaporean! Found myself identifying with so many scenes. Love the final part too. So many of these little actions go by unacknowledged. I'm moving to Singapore in June due to the reason that I'll be 18 by then and have to attend national service. Thing is, I moved to California when I was 4 and basically grew up here. So Singapore is a foreign country to my perspective. I have knee injuries so there's no way I could do military work! Is Singapore a nice place to live? Will people be friendly with me? I'm a bit worried about my situation. Advice would be appreciated!
