Good times. Campo was another one. Back to the glory days soon eh boys 🐘🐘 I met Jay Jay a few times when I was younger and part of a youth group thing in town (I'm from Bolton) and he was a real gent, how he is in this interview is how he was with everyone.

You know you're a great player when you don't need a star-studded lineup to be world class. Many players can perform in a Real Madrid or Barcelona team, but few can do it in Bolton. Absolute legend

Yes in 2007 Newcastle we not the same team was they were in 2004 but I mean come on we have literally played in the UEFA Cup 2004-2005 and 2006-2007. We at the time had kind of replaced Leeds in the sense of a big club failing to achieve but still a big club. He even said why he left Bolton, he was 3rd in the table in the winter of 2006 but the board wouldn't spend money to get top 4 so he left

First time I watched Jay jay play was world cup 1998 against Spain ...I was 13, After that game I went straight to check Nigeria's next game which was against Bulgaria and trust me man never disappointed till he retired .

What a player, seems humble too.

So happy i had a season ticket all throughout his time with Bolton. Was a pleasure to watch him play every week.

What he did against karslruhe (oliver kahn was the keeper. billic was also defender), unforgetable. Legend

This dude was an absolute joy to watch. Loved watching Bolton on Match of the Day just for his highlights.

Stole him from classic psg in my master league season and he ended up scoring the winner in the champions league final over city! Happy days... God I miss this guy he was a pleasure to watch

The way this guy destroyed the zim players back in 2006 was phenomenal...he was such a joy to watch...the commentator was so overwhelmed with his brilliance and was full of praise for legendary dribbler but sadly was fired from the position..... up to this day we never saw him anywhere near commentary team again ...charles mabika was his name

I'm not sure if he had gone to one of the big clubs we would have gotten to see the best of him. I think Bolton and the premier League at that time was perfect for him, he played with freedom and a smile on his face and it came out in his football. I feel at a big club that would have been stifled for structure and we would never have got to enjoy his genius quite as much. But who knows..

Some play for glory, some for love of the game and some for the talent of being born to play. Okocha was a gifted and contempted soccer star. Trully one of the greats to grace the game. An enigma and a legend. Proudly Nigerian.

Jay Jay played 2 years for Fenerbahce, when he was 23-25 years old in his prime, he was the best talent with Ronaldinho at the time, then Fenerbahce sold him to PSG for $19m in 1998 !. He would easily cost at least £100m plus if he was around now.

Extreme humility and confidence melded together.

Great character, great footballer. So focussed, honest and humble.

So humble that he speaks at such a low volume that you can't make out what he's saying.

My all-time favourite in a Bolton shirt (just ahead of Frank Worthington). Not only an incredibly gifted and talented player but also a humble and endearing person as this interview shows.

The class, the calm way of speaking and addressing a trick question, the way his voice is always humble even tough he´s probably better than half of the over hyped premier league players today, shows the difference in mentality between yesterday´s and today´s instagram players.

He actually was wearing a suit the whole time, even when playing. That's why he had long sleeves.
