You Shall Not Pass! (Lord of the Rings Fantasy Hip Hop)

Музыка

Is it possible to write rhymes that are as epic as Tolkien's masterpiece? With music from 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘳_𝘝𝘚_𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘻𝘻𝘰 and 𝘗𝘌𝘙𝘕𝘐𝘟, Judas September presents a fantasy RPG / Dungeons & Dragons inspired rap track to get you right in the feels.
This music video uses clips from the 1978 animated film The Lord of the Rings.
Lyrics:
[1st verse - J. September]
I'm feeling this illest shrouded legacy
Riding Pegasus, clouded over a jaded sea
Wade shadily through a pool of black sapphires
Crushed velvet attire, in a cracked staff: fire
Sin is the crux, light up the crucible
Lucifer's got nada, Medusa's reducible
Choose it full/commit fully/give it all that you got
Take aim, pull the bow string and call that a shot
Fall back to the spot where it's all making sense
Breaking the tensity, taking immense -
Strides into dreams of rapture and awe
So beautiful to hold some and capture it all
Speak to Anubis, light the cannabis
Channel this mana, twist animus and amethyst
Scandalous fan of us Canada’s best
Thanatos has a plan for us and it is death
This planet is blessed, reflect off the emerald
Most venerable general, gimme the centerfold
Fool of a Took I’m so clueless
A duelist, who dun’ give a fook to the ghoulish
Take the plunge n’ enter forsaken dungeons
Grip the hilt of the truncheon forged like tungsten
One last lunge and secure the malachite
Deep in the cavern tripping over the stalagmite
Scratch the surface, this is fantasy foreplay
Mystic forté etch a rune above the doorway
Blue beauty lapis lazuli, through to red ruby
View me truly unkempt and hair is unruly
I’m dueling with duty, bring me the loot
Plucking strings on a lute sing a song like a flute
Perfect balances, fill up the chalices
Who dares to challenge us?
[2nd verse - J. September]
No challenger or malice of any caliber
Poses a threat lest they wield Excalibur
Mark this day on the calendar, victory’s mine
Mix history with mystery and contradictory rhyme
In a glade between trees I’m shaded by leaves
I’m laden with keys in this haven of thieves
Slick stalker pick a lock, or pickpocket a locket
Thick droplets of blood in sick goblets for quick talkers
Methodical pour over chronicles with a monocle
In this sonic odyssey audible and illogical
From hair to the follicle, seamless genius
My obscene wish glean this moonbeam through a sheen of the dreamless
Alchemical heart darker than onyx
Shifty comments, mixing potions and tonics
With vials of stardust and shards off of comets
Hooked on concoctions of phonics and hydroponics
Light of the dawn its hellspawn that’s upon us
Cast a spell it’s so ominous, ring out so sonorous
May Romulus honour us, or rather what’s left of me
My effigy, the spear of destiny’s testing me
Forever blessing me, elven star ever quest
Measureless riches locked inside a treasure chest
My headdress is featherless, trust in my leather vest
Protect ya neck, or sever this cleverness
My leisure is pleasureless I’ll never rest
Til seven heavens are pressed over the crest of Everest
I drank swill, and paint ill portraits of villains
I’m tranquil, most fortunate, torch lit with my feelings
Scorches the deceitful, see through the keyhole
Equal with people, what you seek will you behold
I’m lethal, cloaked in mithril and the sequel is grace
Regal cross, peak of the steeple, leap of faith

Oh my god... It's like the perfect blend of a tribute to Wu-Tang's love for kung fu movies but instead you substitute martial arts for fantasy. This song is the grown up version of my childhood. You have my sub

That means a lot to me, I make it for the same reason! If you're looking for where I get my inspiration check out the albums Swollen Members - Balance (1999) and Binary Star - Masters of the Universe (2000) for starters. Hope this helps!

Just when I was about to give up and think Hip Hop was dead, Judas September comes and kicks it in the head. Now THIS is the lyrcism that I'm talking about.

A masterful masterpiece. Eligh would be proud, I love that you used clips from the original LOTR. Beat has a RZA feel, you sound kind of like Aesop Rock mixed with maybe RA the rugged man, haha. Man I had given up hope that I might ever be blessed with a song like this, this takes me back to the good 'ol days of real hip-hop being abundantly fresh, alive, and well.

That's some wicked praise man, I'm glad I was able to deliver something you really loved. That is the goal! Just happy to find people who love the same kind of style that I do. Eligh, Aesop, RZA and RA are all artists I enjoy listening to so some elements probably rubbed off on me along the way. I was not aware of Eligh's LOTR inspired album when I made this, so I'm going to have to do some investigating! Thank you!

Not bad. I enjoyed it. Writing is clever. I've been wanted to do more fantasy-core Hip Hop, and I have on my new album I've been recording with my producer Rock Rave Rom. It's difficult to find beats that have a fantasy type vibe to them; with instruments such as harp, flute, bagpipes, etc. I want to do some Celtic flows! 😄
