@@silvia-90_ You wont regret, its a masterpiece! It does starts a little bit slow with the creation of the world, but when you get to the Noldor's journey to Beleriand (Middle earth) and their quest to retrieve the Silmarils, you will love it all that unfolds. Its my favorite book of all time, and by far. Can only dream that once they will adapt the first age to videogame or as a series, until then Im looking forward to see what Amazon does with the second age, hope its good!

Always so strange to see people begrudge sexuality or cursing, which are both pretty natural things, but don't bat an eye to mass killings in the big battle scenes. But, then again, that's the mantra of media; "Violence is fine, just no nipples or f-bombs." Mind-boggling.

@@Crimsonhighlander LOTR is too violent? I dunno there's a ridiculous amount of foul language in media nowadays, it seems really normalized now to the point of absurdity. Oversexualization seems to be on the decline though. I don't mind violence, gore and sexual content in like horror or thrillers or drama but not in fantasy epics. I'm only interested in heroes being selfless badasses going up against evil villains. Rape, incest, prostitution and foul language kinda takes me out of the experience and is a reminder of how horrible many aspects of our species can be. Plus it seems like cheap shock value. Game of Thrones is super popular and if it doesn't bother you more power to you, and to be fair GoT probably closer to what medieval times were like but I dunno, it just doesn't do it for me.

This reminds me of the videos we would make in highschool for our weekly bulletin. Getting one of the cooler teachers to be in our skit was like having a heavy star guest on the show. Colbert went and got all the dopest science and math teachers, the one badass english teacher, everyone's favorite lunch lady, and the principal.

OMG, how did I just find this now...? This is amazing! I love the dedication that fans like Stephen and the people who worked on it have to this day for LotR. I love these stories so much, like millions of other people in the world and it just warms my heart every time when I see someone freak out over the same things that I also love so deeply. This story is an unbelievably big part of my life and I am so thankful for that! ❤🙏✨ Also... I love Harry Potter, but I agree: WHERE ARE THE BIG CELEBRATIONS FOR LOTR'S 20TH ANNIVERSARY!? 🥺😃 WE NEED THEM! So thank you for this, Stephen. At least someone thought of a celebration for it and such a creative way of doing so, too! 😌🙌

LOTR is the only trilogy I can watch in one sitting in its extended version without being bored once. No other franchise has ever made this happen. Colbert is wonderful for celebrating the books, as well as the movies. My sincerest regards to him

This was literally the only movie, ever, that made me shake at the literal edge of my seat when the Balrog was after the fellowship all while dodging falling debris and jumping from crumbling column to column. I literally forgot I was in the movie theater, and felt as if I was there running for my life too. Best movies ever.
