1 star reviews on quality Mario game are a joke. The game is a great return to the 2D line. Those people played for 2 minutes, realized it wasn’t like the original from 30 years ago, and got upset. Great Video!

Totally agree. Super Mario World was my favorite Mario game until I played Mario Wonder. I absolutely love it!

what do you mean with "return"? the most (original) recent 2D Mario game (excluding Wonder) is Super Mario Maker 2 (2019) (yes i count it because it's in the genre and it has a story mode, essentially giving you a full 2D Mario expierence)

@@Doktario_Mystario "Return" might not be the word to be used here, but the SMB game line has gotten stale. Mario Wonder brought so many new things to freshen up the series.

When i bought wonder i didn't even expect it to be as good as it ended up being i don't even know why anyone wouldn't like the game

Wtf was the guy that said Wonder's controls were horrible on, they are some of the most polished controls in the entire franchise, dare I say, they are on par if not better with World's controls, which are just *wonderful*. Plus the movie was great.

I don’t know if you’ve seen any of my other videos but I’ve said something similar to you. I feel like Super Mario World had the best controls and was my favorite Mario game until I played Mario Wonder. The controls and game mechanics in Mario Wonder are great!

One of the disappointing things about Super Mario Bros. Wonder is that Bowser and Bowser Jr are the only bosses in the game. The fights aren't bad, but I wish the game had more original bosses like in New Super Mario Bros. DS. However, the wonder seed section in levels like Leaping Smackerel can be considered a boss since you literally have this giant leaping mackerel chasing you and you need to collect 5 coins to "defeat" it. I don't count the machines you destroy at the end of airship levels as bosses. Another thing that confuses me is that only Worlds 1, 2, 4, 6, Special World, and Petal Isles/"World Bowser's Castle" as I like to call it, have castle levels but not Worlds 3 and 5. This is a shame because Worlds 3 and 5 are arguably my favorite worlds in the game. Everything else about the game I absolutely adore. I love the fact that it's essentially the successor to Super Mario World in the sense that after completing a castle level, you get a monologue similar to how it happens in that game. I don't think there's even a single forgettable level that I can recall, it's just that I might forget the name of said levels. Another thing is that unlike a lot of games these days, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a complete game. I do agree with the sentiment that Nintendo does overprice their games. This mainly pertains to whenever they've re-released a game for Switch like DKC: Tropical Freeze and Skyward Sword HD where there was little to no new content added to justify the $60 price tag. You can argue as to whether or not Super Mario Bros. Wonder is worth $60, but I personally think it's a worthy purchase. One thing you can say about Nintendo is that again, most of the time, Nintendo releases a complete product. They don't rush production for the sake of only making a profit. There's at least passion going into these projects. Believe me, Nintendo can make a profit through other means like overpricing their games. We may not like this practice, but we still buy the games regardless. That's not to say that other studios don't put in the effort on their games, it's just that Nintendo doesn't have to worry about a bigger corporation telling them to release a game on this specific date. They're able to make games at their own pace.

I just played Super Mario World the other night and as I was playing I thought, Dang I wish they would have added the Koopalings to Mario Wonder. They're not overly difficult, but at least it brings a different dimension the the game. Even though the Bowser Jr. fights differ from one another, I feel like they're still relatively the same. I enjoyed your analysis and your take. Well done 👏

The controls in the game are perfect I think.

2:25 i guess the critique is supposed to be that the game has collectables/challanges/mechanics that require the Elephant power-up, which tells me that she doesn't know game design (motivating players to interact with mechanics in this case)

Lmao 1 star reviewers should probably take the advice of most 10 year olds online & “get good”. Without a challenging platform game, then Mario fails to be Mario regardless if it’s 2-D or 3-D. My only criticism of the game is on more complicated levels, the wall jump feature can sometimes fail, the motion of the controls can sometimes force the character to spin at the wrong time, and sometimes lags on inputs…..but despite these issues, if you play online, you can easily be revived most of the time by other players so even if you’re playing alone, the community is there to help you.

Agree. I feel like on the Fluff Puff Peaks Special Climb to the Beat this is especially true. Especially on the last vertical section right before the Wonder Seed. I screw that part up the most, even though I feel like it should be the easiest.

Ya, I totally understand that. I've 100% completed it 5 times and have started to see if I can do it using only certain badges or other challenges to make it more difficult. I still find it very fun, but didn't want to play NSMBU after I beat it the first time.
