You're the One that I Want - Grease - Bass Cover and Lesson - Request

Музыка

Hello :) This is requested transcription I did of the song "You're the One that I Want" from the movie Grease. David Hungate was the bass player on the original track.
This transcription can be found at www.muzento.com under Intermediate - Learning Songs subject.
Note: It was brought to my attention there is a wrong note (not really wrong, but different from whats on the recording) - The main verse lick is 1 5 8 7577 and not 1 5 8 7575. I've corrected the score in Muzento.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy :)

Thanks for taking the time to tab this song and make this video! I prefer learning from tabs AND seeing and hearing the bass part at the same time, so your video is a treasure trove for me :-)

Greg, thanks for a great job on this transcription. The accuracy of the notation is the best I've seen. I am learning this to play in my band... and I picked up a couple of note corrections to what I originally heard. Also valuable is just plain watching your fingering as you play it. Very helpful to me.

Yet again superb playing Greg! Good album, particularly like Frankie Valley Grease (Is the Word), although can’t remember if it has much going on with the bassline!

Thank you so much for the cover and tabs! Any specific reason to pluck the open E string in the beginning instead of the 5th fret of the A string?

I think you mean the open A string and the 5th fret of the E string? Anyway, I used the open string because it sounds open to me in that section and it feels right. Less movement and an open sound. I hope that helps...thanks :)
