SINCE THE START BRO, LOVE YA👊

For all my life I knew my constant need for distraction was cause I have a fear of silence. When it's so quiet that there's no sound or stimulation it makes me uneasy. Maybe it's ADHD but it's also related to two things, FOMO and childhood trauma. I'm afraid of wasting time that could be used "productively" or dying without experiencing everything in life. Also as a kid I was always watching movies as a distraction during childhood abuse, silence = abuse or time closer to death for me hence why boredom/silence is such an anxious trigger for me. Ironically knowing this makes me scared to work on it although slowly I'm trying to get therapy for it. TLDR: Avoiding facing boredem is usually a sign of something else you're trying to avoid imo.

in all honesty it was the opposite for me i started to find video games boring empty and pointless so i would just sit around all day doing nothing but drawing occasionally because i dream of being an animator. but when i went back to an old game i played as a kid you can guess i felt like a kid again everything felt so happy in that one moment.

well, im still learning how to produce music, but what i do is listen to music that i like, and incorporate different things i hear from each style. if ur a beginner just starting out, then maybe find a song u like and try to make a cover/replicate it to learn the daw (digital audio workstation/the application u make music on) and learn techniques. listen to a bunch of music to get inspired, then the only way to get better is to create! also utilise the internet. i learnt a lot from not knowing how to do something, then searching up a tutorial on how to do it, then following along with it. when I started i watched a 2 hr lecture on logic pro (the daw i use), but it wasn't helpful, as i wasn't applying the knowledge i was intaking. so u gotta create. u got it, lmk how u go! 💪

I'm 14 and from the moment I got a phone, I got bored 5 times in 3 years, brothers I can't wait to get bored again, it's a so good feeling, fucking hell, in this year I haven't gotten bored once cause of the phone, I'm just empty, fuck social media, I need to get bored again

What makes me sad is realizing that our brains are biologically wired to be lazy and steer us towards content consumption or playing video games or anything else that's low effort to get into and high reward immediately. Look it up, it's the striatum (this kind of findings is why I love neuroscience).

i agree, it's a lot easier to go for the instant gratification than do the hard thing. but lacking motivation is never an excuse (a good one at least), and habits get built up kver time. the best thing is to know what u want and work everyday (even just 1% everyday) towards it. ik u can do it! much love
