The bbc filmed two endings to the final- one where sir alan hired kate and one where he hired yasmina. this is to stop the winner being leaked by the press before the show airs. the girls were only told the result by sir alan on friday. Does anyone know when the tasks were actually filmed, must have been a few months ago?

so glad yasmina won, she was my fave from the start. but i think this year's show had some of the best contestants, kate and debra were really good aswell. and i think some of the comments on this video are really disgusting and innapropriate, this show was ultimately about business not looks. the girls seem like genuinely nice people, and anyone posting stupid derogatory comments are just nasty idiots.

Thanks. If this is so it's not revealed on the show. You get the impression that the decision is entirely based on their performance while carrying out the tasks he gives them. If what you are suggesting is true, I think this should be made clear to the viewers. He doesn't say a word on any actual work experience when arriving at his final decision.

He does. He's aware of their work experience when they enter the show and their resumés are scrutinised in the interview section. He clearly refers to their current experiences when outlining his decision in this episode.

ok it totally should have been kate. yasmina sort of beat her at this task even though her product was a bit crap. the rest of the series however yasmina was completely playing it safe, she was never in the limelight or taking risks like kate. kate was way more competent and polished.

they are equally good because they have different skills. kate is more confidant in selling, talking (interviews & pitching etc) but yasmina is better at ideas and stuff. sir alan needs more creativity instead selling and stuff in his business so he hired yasmina, BTW yasmina always looks so miserable and kate is more bubbly. kate has the best personality =)

He's had some very impressive candidates since then as well - Tom Pellerau (2011), Mark Wright (2012), Leah Totton (2013) and Vana Koutsomitis (2015). I think Yasmina and Kate in 2009 were also impressive to be honest, but nothing beats the first series!
