I read Nigel Benn's autobiography some years ago. He served 5 years in the army before becoming a professional boxer. One of the punishments he had to go through was with another soldier who he had been with breaking the rules . They had walk through a gauntlet of their platoon either side and they were allowed to hit him and his friend as hard as they wanted to by the officer. Nigel Benn said that he warned them prior to this what would happen to anyone who did hit him so his poor mate took all the whacks

Remember that, although they are impressive individuals who have achieved something in their lives that very few can, they are also falible, inperfect and even damaged human beings to like the rest of us. When they become celebrities, it does not mean they should be idolized or seen as gurus and life coaches. Many service leavers, including SF, encounter failure, lose their way, don't find their true calling, and even die by suicide. Just becuase Mr Fox, Mr Middleton et all, are now well known, it does not mean they should be regarded im a different manner. They are doing well for themselves and that is great, but life could and does go the other way too. Now mate, you go out there and make what you can out of yourself and capitalize on your youth becuase as a man who is 50 and served for 20 years in the military, I can tell you that life is short and also quite fucking hard, so make the most of it! You don't need a former member of UKSF or anyone else to tell you that. Remeber, too, that this TV show is just entertainment at the end of the day. You take care mate. Garry H. South Carlolina, USA. When certain people grow up something as simple as defending yourself becomes second nature. That fight or flight response is always fight and never flight. I can understand that completely. I've had an issue with my anger for my whole life. I'm 34 and still learning to control it. I like to think I get a little better everyday. actually this guy needs to do exactly what he said he wont do, he needs to seek help, he needs to release his energy by talking about his past and not turn it inside and bottle it up cos at some point he will explode. I hope they give him professional help and treat the problem. I hope he also finds piece and finds someone he can trust and open up to so that he lets go of his demons (metaphorical ones that is). Nobody needs to go it alone!

Honestly you've gotta give it to the guy, nothing but pure honesty. No sugar coating anything he just says how he's feeling, even if he doesn't necessarily have the words to explain why. Some men think it's a weakness to talk about how you're feeling and confront your emotions, I'd like to see those guys call Bellew weak. Nothin but respect to Tony, keep working on yourself, you obviously want to be able to get better. Best to ya
