The pain I went through in high school reflects in some of these kids. The sheer level of insecurity and belief they're ugly; the lack of any praise or compliments from peers or parents is palpable and it brings me to tears.

Boys never really get compliments. And "beautiful" isnt really a word you would call a guy. If you called them handsome then their would probably be more comments. As a guy I can say, not once have I really had a complement. Only teachers ever somewhat gave me a compliment. So if someone walks up to me, I would probably think they are lying since I never really recieved one

as a man I can assure you that they will remember that phrase for the rest of their lives trust me

It's just sad to watch their reactions in total disbelief when they're told a compliment such as this and even sadder because I can relate to it. I grew up in the foster system and all I can remember is all the bad stuff. I guess my life would've been different if a little boost of confidence would've been introduced in my life. Thank you for these type of social experiments. A kind word really goes a long way.
