It’s because you’re overlining all over ! Try just at the middle like another commenter said. I had the same problem lol. The right shade and lining only in the middle help a LOT

if you have a naturally blurry lipline, try using a very small amount of concealer to define the lip area you want, then use the lip tint

I generally think overlining is overrated, I only like it when it's corrective (for example, hiding asymmetry But the video example actually looks nice. Still, on me it'd probably look the same as you're describing

The real trick is to first apply liptint on the lipline and slightly overline (I use a lipmarker to overline though as it’s easier) Then wipe the shine away so you only have the stain of darker lipline left. Then use the liptint to fill in the lips so *DON’T* put it on the lipline of your upper lip. Only put shiny gloss like this liptint on the bottom lip and centre of the upper lip. Otherwise the shine on your upper lip will accentuate what you’ve overlined and it will look quite obvious. So basically don’t put glossy sh*t on your upper lipline if you don’t want it to be obvious. I even smack my lips in a way it won’t spread past my upper lip line. 😂 Btw my lips are hella skinny and I always avoided overlining bc it made me look like a child who played with their mom’s lipstick until I discovered this trick by accident 💀

It works. Just dont but really transparent tints. Rom&md have really good tints and hides darks spots on your lips.

you could say "impractical" about all make up. it all has a bunch of steps and takes forever if you want it to look good. if you dont want to put in the extra effort to make your make up look a little better then thats fine but making comments like these are non sensical.

For ppl who seem to not be able to overline ur lips without looking like a toddler did ur makeup, apply 3 small dots on the bottom lip, at the edge in the center then smudge is onto the shape of ur lips. It looks like ur lips r bigger because the tint will tint that

It's not always the skin colour lip colour situation tho Like, for me, my hyperpigmentation causes my lip outline to look way lighter than the colour of my top lip, but it is really raised and my cupid's bow is also very sharply defined, so there's no way that overlinig would look good on me, I bet this is hack is really useful for those who can use it tho lol I just wanted to say something

It looked just fine before. Nothing wrong with trying to make your lips look bigger, but also nothing wrong with having smaller lips.

Dude people never show us how it looks from the side after overlineing their lips

@@vince4498 I don't normally wear makeup, why in the world would I want it to last long if I'm only wearing it for a night out? Usually I only put on makeup if I'm going to a formal event, or like, a concert, which normally only lasts an hour. And after the event, I wipe off the makeup because it's uncomfortable.

For the majority of people, this method won't work. She has a clearly defined lip border lip border that allows for more overlining when neutralized (and off camera it can still look wonky). If you don't, and it's usually the sides of the lip where the vermillion border isn't as defined or is hyperpigmented, trying to go over that area can look messy and cartoonish. You will already get the "overlined" look just by going on top of the less defined outer edges without going beyond that (using a liner first that matches your natural lip color will also help). Then you can extend slightly beyond your lip border *just* above and between the two points of the Cupid's Bow and the same width as it on the bottom. Overlining the edges can also give the "duck mouth" look when filler is applied incorrectly. If you really want your lips to look bigger, try using a plumping gloss or product about 15 minutes before doing your lips (pat it down first): these products generally contain mild irritants to make the lips bigger but can be drying or harsh on sensitive skin. Also look for lip products that contain active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and AHAs. These are all humectants and will draw moisture from the air and hydrated body to the lips to plump and moisturize them more (both short and long term). Balms that contain peptides and collagen will also gradually make lips a bit fuller. And never underestimate good hydration, so bottoms up on that water! Hope this helps! Cheers!

For most, if not all, Korean lip tints, it’s best to not smack your lips together after applying it so the pigment can absorb into your lips and the shiny layer can seperate to the top

Ok, thank you for explaining why you are doing things. I never got it with other tutorials that showed these complex designs that ended up looking like a normal application.

tbh, i'd rather just get a lip liner to do this instead. It makes the gradient look easier to achieve. Not to mention that a lot of k-beauty brands make lip-liners to do this exact thing without the mess.

I think what I'm getting from it is that the "proper" method is based off of placement and the illusion of making your lips loop more plump. The before is basically like how you apply chapstick. The after method is purposely overlining your cupid's bow and the middle of your bottom lip to make them look bigger. She also smudges the sides of it to make it appear natural.

I'd never use a concealer over my lips. I prefer to eat and not nibble and concealer isn't going inside me

Wonyeong lips explained. For those 2 tones girlies, just use a very nude color for the "concealer". It works better than a real concealer 👍

Just put more tint if u want it to look juicy, twice is the go to amount for me

In that case you should focus on your eye make up. Work with your facial features not against it. Don't force your lips to look big and eye drawing and focus on other features instead.

It will really depend on your lip shape. I have a very strong Cupid’s bow, so if I over line my top lip it looks insane. I can only slightly over line my bottom lip

Problem with these kind of videos that keep shaming on how you're applying wrongly if you do it the first way is that their suggested "ideal" way just doesn't work in real life. It's so obvious. Not sure if they are chronically online that they don't realize it only works for their tiktok videos/instagram posts. If my own dad who knows nothing at all with makeup can tell that I overlined my lips with this technique and even pointed it out as "you need to fix your lips, wipe the edges of your lips it's going outside your lips" then I'm pretty sure everyone else IRL can. Is this online makeup blindness lol. Eitherway if you wanna do that go ahead but we all know that doesn't work in real life, so don't shame on the first way. People just like saying the same things other influencers say just to get more views it's getting tiring, sorry for the rant. Also before anyone comes at how I apply the overlined lips, I don't overline the whole lips and actually know very well how to do this technique because I do it only when I want to take a picture and it does work on camera, but I don't do this outside/irl.

It’s the lips, I have Cupid’s bow with 2 lip lines. 1 of them is white so if I overline it looks natural and plump just like her. Those who don’t have it pls don’t do this it’s gonna look bad in person. Nothing wrong with your lips or your technique. It’s just the lips.
