You Only Need 10 Clients At $1K/Mo To Make Your First $100K A Year

Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

Just stating numbers sounds easy but the execution is the challenge. Exactly how do you deliver $1,000 plus of value to customers every month? Would weekly TikTok videos or images on Instagram be worth $1,000? Would you need to shoot and edit multiple videos throughout the week? What kind of content would you put in the videos? Would you give them a script or have them create their own? Would you have to hang around the offices of 10 different clients throughout the day to try to capture something worth sharing on social media? How would you show the effectiveness of the campaigns? The math is the easy part.

Very good question. 2 ways imo: 1)Self evaluate & figure out what you enjoy or consider a hobby. Research businesses providing services around that & then look for companies with sub par e-commerce presence. You will literally trip out when you start spotting little to no Web presence with companies doing numbers annually. 2)hyper focus on businesses that make 1k plus per transaction minimum. You can justify 1k a month starting because of the R.o.i upside of brand awareness which equals more client acquisition in time. This gives you leverage because now you can explain the shadow Web effect like Sensei Hormozi said.. You can now justify $1000/month, & as you get better your price will increase. After you find the niche, you gotta be willing to devote solid time daily learning the machine so you can speak fluently and ACUALLY have an understanding of the companies mission. Just thinking out loud.

Solid advice! The problem is that you run the risk of being commoditized, and profits go to zero. I'd instead start in business by positioning myself as the "go-to person for X", and charge $5k-$10k for delivering a transformation that creates long-term raving fans (+ additional business).

Branding awareness is easier to deliver (don't know why, or easier than what, but he also didn't say it) But although it's easier, it's harder to get clients, first you need to make people BELIEVE they want to be active on social media and build their brand. And you need to make them believe that's something that takes time, and that's working even when they don't see the results or that even with results it's better to keep going because there's benefits they don't see: basically make them believe they need and that they need you "forever" If they think they don't need you, they won't pay you If they think they already got the results they wanted, they will stop to pay you So make them need you for as long as you wish A codependent relationship really

@Dimitrije Protic A quick solution: Spend $500-$3k on courses to very quickly learn the skills and save a ton of time. Now you have a clear plan on how to manage TikTok/FB/IG etc with confidence. Heck, even do it for free for the first 2-3 people to get real-life experience that you can make a case-study of when pitching to others.

CEO richest guy in the world Elon Musk doesn’t spend a single dollar on advertising, just makes the best product and trust wom marketing. But to be clear yes I agree most of the worlds largest businesses are manipulative unethical and don’t give a damn about the consumer
