I've had Nextbase and other Dashcams since 2000. Wouldn't be without the. The thing that annoys me about all of them is they make battery replacement so tricky. My current one from 2016 the battery needs replacement (again). I also have a hidden camera loop recording to a mobile phone as I've had had the passenger window smashed and the camera stolen, moral careful where you park it.

the 4k video looks terrible on mine, looks more like 720, the video is grainy and at night it does not pick up numberplate that well. lots of complaints on like about the bad image quality

What SD card are you using? I’ve found that using Nextbases cards are crap for 4K tbh

It records a low and high res copy of the same file - are you sure you’re looking at the right one?

The nextbase camera I have is a fucking nightmare. It never records when I actually need footage of something. Fortunately I’ve never been in a bump but had some near misses I would of liked to have shared. I’ve tried everything with them and it’s bloody unreliable as hell. The app is dreadful and finicky and never connects. I’ve also had to format my SD card multiple times. Don’t bother with them in all honesty

Oh that's interesting to hear! What model do you have? I can say that their older models were rubbish when they came into the market! I've had no issues with the app or recording yet so we shall see over the next coming months!

Get some proper double sided tape. This thing falls down on warm days

Find a decent DashCam that isnt Battery Based, they are terrible. There are plenty of capacitor based cameras out there, that are 1000% better than the Nextbase trash

I think the batteries are great to be honest! Never got too hot even after a 6 hour drive.

I use this so called trash since 5 years and still runs like new
