you missed the GREATEST racing game ever made | Split/Second Review

Ойындар

Split Second really is the Godfather of our time.
You missed the greatest racing game ever made and no it's not burnout, blur, forza horizon, mario kart, dirt or any other racing game like that. It's none other than Disney's Split/Second.
I truly do love this game so I hope you enjoy this Split Second review.

People who don't play/understand games (publishers, investors, journalists, soydevs) are easily impressed by realism because it's a simple metric anyone can grasp and compare. Fun and gamefeel are things people who actually play games judge them by, and we all know games aren't made for gamers anymore.

you know the worst part in this? it died because of BLUR. another fun car combat racing game which is basically what if we have mario kart but real cars. i put both in high regards of the best arcade racer. S/S and blur came out almost at the same time, and they killed each profits because of it, and they both have a sequel that never happened because they both are a flop. atleast blur's multiplayer got revived by the community. i think S/S multi only works in console

Not enough for RTS, not enough for MOBA, not enough even for CS. But you can launch Re-Volt and have some quick fun by the end. FlatOut 2 was more popular if you had time. NFS Underground, Most Wanted, Carbon? Not really as they were more of singleplayer focused games and needed more time to set up the game, everything was locked and so on. The games where there were no need to create profile were more popular. And obviously all the games were pirated anyway, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Split/Second was the newer, flashier brother of Rollcage, Re-Volt and, to some extent, NFS: Most Wanted. Rollcage is pretty ancient at this point, but it was the first racing game I played where I can remember being able to influence the outcome of the race through destruction of map elements. It wasn't as advanced as this, but the principle of timing a missile just right so that it would collapse a building or other track-side elements and thus take out a bunch of the opponents was very similar. Re-Volt was the same, though... sillier, since most of the interactable elements ranged from toy cubes or milk bottles to footballs just rolling around the map since you were basically an RC car the whole time. And finally, NFS:MW was the one where it turned into Michael Bay stuff, with the slow-mo cam showing you take out people with signs or logs rolling off a truck on the freeway. Good to see you covering this one, though it was certainly an unexpected surprise :D

Loved split/second. Wish the gameplay was longer and had updates, I wish they made a sequel. Apparently they were supposed to, but ran into money issues or something.

if you still have the ps3 version, the multiplayer is still online, might as well get the free dlc if you haven't before servers eventually shut down

I wonder if thy' Pimp ever heard of the Flatout series and especially Flatout 2 (the only one worth mentioning). It's a tad more down to earth since there are no natural disasters at your disposal, but I find it extremly relaxing, especially the soundtrack...

My favorite game and arguably one of if not the best racing game ever made. Fantastic video, above and beyond, I reached online rank 1 and lost it to some psycho powers using a firestorm while probably blasting eurobeat and haven't gotten it back. Best thing Disney ever made. But did you really have to hit us with the "To be continued"?
